#lazycoup. This trip to Japanese is our first trip ever that we plan to travel to Kyoto to specifically see the leaves color changing🍁🍂.
We plan to spend time traveling in Kyoto for 4 whole days (even we spend 4 days in Kyoto, we still couldn't go to every attractions in Kyoto as most of the places are so beautiful and magnificent💛💛)
For this review, we will divide the attractions day by day. Let's follow and see our 4 Days in Kyoto trip then.
🍁🍂1st day – Eastern Kyoto :: Nanzenji & Eikando Temple
Nanzenji Temple and Eikando Temple are located adjacent to each other that vistior could walk through. We travel to Eikando Temple where we would recommend as a must go attraction. The temple is large and beautiful and it is renowned as the most beautiful place in Kyoto to admire leaves changing color, (moreover, the people is less than the landmark place like Bamboo Forest, Fog Shrine and Tofukuji temple) we assure that you guys will feel very impressed.
We would leave our FB page a bit, if you guys like this review, please give a like for support us.
Picture form google map เ, indicating the area of the temple roughly which is in the red line is the area of Eikandao Temple and in the green line is Nanzenji Temple.
🚗Getting there: there are 2 ways to travel which you could choose as you like:
1. Bus no.5 get off at Nanzenji-Eikando stop แ, then walk further in to the alley around 500 meters, you will reach at Eikando Temple.
2. For those who don't like taking bus, another option is to take metro to get off at Keage Station, the exit would be near Nanzenji Temple (We choose this travel method)
*****Note****** There is no restaurant around this area, thus you guys should eat before traveling here, perhaps finding something to eat at Kyoto station would be nice.
💵Entrance fee : 1000 yen for leaves changing color season.
🕑Open-Close time: 9:00-17:00
On the first morning here, after we finish checking-in the hotel in Kyoto, we then go out to catch a train at Kyoto Station and get on metro to Keage Station (you guys could check out the direction on hyperdia website that we in this review). We would like to repeat that you guys should eat before traveling to these temples.
Upon arriving at Keage Station, we would see the beautiful houses in old style. Well, we reach here during noon as we are lingering around.
The nearest temple from the metro station would be Nanzenji Temple, we still could see the leaves changing color along the way. Although the temple is located a bit far from the station by walking but the beautiful scenery with the pleasant cold weather make us feel enjoy.
The first temple that we visits Nanzenji Temple, the people is rather a lot, we spend sometime at this place as we have never came to take photos of red leaves, we use to see only the green forest in our country, thus we need to adjust our camera a bit.
As for Nanzenji Temple, even though there are a lot of people, but luckily that the temple has a large area and there is Eikando Temple located nearby, therefore it is not crowded like other landmark attractions.
Well, we manage to find some spot with no people to take a beautiful portrait photo. The easy trick is finding some trees to be a foreground covering other people, it's pretty work!
Or you could try using a camera lens that has a low F value of 1.2 to 2.2, it will help blurring people that walk in the back.
Let's see the scenery inside Nanzenji Temple together.
There is a Ginkgo tree with yellow leaves. Yellow contrasts with Red is considerably beautiful.
To take a walk in Nanzenji Temple would take at least 1 hour (in the condition of fast walking and taking a little photo. Yet, we do spend around 2 hours here as we travel all over the temple)
After we finish promenade in Nanzenji Temple, we then move forward to Eikando Temple which there is no restaurant at all on the way as we have told you guys earlier. Yet, there is a car selling hot roasted sweet potato which could help warming our hands and our bodies.
Then when we reach Eikando Temple, we are stunning with the beauty of this place. We would say that every corners in this temple is so nice and should have to spend a lot of time here.
There are a lot of people as always. We then go to queue up to buy the entrance fee, the ticket costs 1,000 yen which is pretty worth the price.
After buying a ticket, we then could pass this gate to inside area. Let's enter in the gate of Eikando Temple together.
Upon entering in to the temple gate, we would find this building located inside.
When we are inside, we look at the arch on the right hand side, then we have to wonder that why there are many people crowded to take a photo over there? Suddenly, we come to know that this spot is a landmark spot of this place with a bridge and the basin.
Looking further, we could see the unique building in different style located on the hill.
There are a lot of people all over the places. Some spots would look alike to each other.
We keep walking along the way until we reach an area which they require us to take off shoes and carry it with you to visit inside (The temple would offer the plastic bag for putting in your shoes and it is needed to turn back at the exit of the building). The path inside is rather long, yet beautiful, there are lesser people than outside area.
We look through the mirror and see the tourists sit back admiring the leaves changing color.
Hence, we go to sit at the place where they are admiring the beautiful leaves. Wow! it is stunningly beautiful, sit back among this nice view and all the tiresomeness is abruptly disappeared.
Let's see other taking photo corners of the temple.
Anyone who would like to eat some sweets and drink some tea to warm up your bodies, you could come to this shop (it is located in the temple, near the exit way). there are a lot of cute Japanese girls here and the shop is in an easy atmosphere, seatings cover with red cloths, decorated with red umbrellas among the red leaves.
