Closer to festive season such as new year, Song Kran and long weekend, The upcoming is Full Moon Festival (Loy Kra-thong) which is on a full moon night of 12th month (Thai Count), this year is on 25th November 2015. Such the event, we all are looking for what to do and place to celebrate!!

This year Full Moon Festival is at the middle of week days and it's too rush if we have to go out from Bangkok. If there are a hotel near public transportation which easily to get to the festival center, it must be the best choice for whose who do not want to drive too far...

I believe that Disit Thani Bangkok is one of the best list with its luxury conveniently prime location at the middle of Bangkok and we can ensure the quality with hotel's high service standard and its brand name.

Dusit Thani Bangkok is reach able by MRT Silom station exit 2 (the hotel is right in front of the exit)

and BTS Sala Daeng exit 5, 1 minute walking from the station. The location is next to Lumphini park and at the middle of business district.

Conveniently to get to shopping areas, Silom night market, Ratchaprasong and Sathorn.

In the hotel area has a lot of free zone which is decorated with variety of trees and flowers, providing relaxation and clean fresh air, I would say it's an oasis of Bangkok!!!

The hotel is equipped with many restaurants with difference styles;

- An international buffet "The Pavilion"

- 22 Kitchen & Bar is the highest bar and restaurant in the hotel, offer wide selections of Pacific seafood

- Benjarong, Thai modern fusion

- The Mayflower, Chinese

- The Hamilton's Steak House

- Tien Dong, the Vietnamese

- Shogun, Japanese

- Dusit Gourmet offers deliciously desserts

- Lobby Lounge

The various options of restaurants allow you to choose your most preferable cuisine which could be Thai, Chinese, Japanese or international buffet.

For this special festival I would recommend "22 Kitchen & Bar" on the top floor of the hotel building, where is suitable for romantic couple with Bangkok spectacular sky line in the night.

Ensuring your night to be come unforgettable with well craved menus...

For more preferences are seafood from Pacific ocean, Japanese unique cuisine, Chinese and Portuguese.

Or Thai modern at 'Benjarong" in the garden with waterfall and the Sala Thai..

For the full moon festival, the hotel has invited guests to make themselves Kra-thong

(Banana leaf-hand work which we let it flow on the water) and guests can flow their Kra-thong by the waterfall in hotel's garden..

Dusit Thani has started accommodation business since 1970, from then until now is 45 years, the hotel has well blended the Thai traditional with today modernness perfectly and well equipped with facilities in order to fulfill guests needs and requests, ensuring guests convenience along with relaxation and feeling home away from home.....

For the up coming this year full moon festival, I will recommend places where the festival takes place, near Dusut Thani...

1. Lumphini Park

"Lumphini Park" is the closest place of the event to Dusit Thani and the festival will be held every year. Because its big ponds and a big plot of land is suite for the celebration.

As standing in the park will be surrounded with buildings and Bangkok lighting.

Looking to the water surface is shining with the light from the Kra-thong, it's very romantic at the middle of nature but !!! yes, at the middle of Bangkok's busiest corner.

2. Thammasat University (Taprachan boat station)

At the pier of Thammasat University (Taprachan) is a bit small but is very popular for Loy Kra-thong. The celebration goes big in every year, There is boat service to go to middle of the Chao Phraya River to flow the Kra-thong..

3. Asiatique River Front

The biggest life style out-door shopping on the coat of Chao Phraya River invites you to its celebration under the event name "Colorful River Loy Krathong Festival" at Asiatique The River Front, with light and sound show and spectacular fire work....

The Loy Kra-thong has different believes, some said is for thanking and apologizing to the water, some believe that to flow a Kra-thong is to let bad karma go away, other is to pray to a god and even to pay respect to Buddha's foot print under the water.

The festival is held on a full moon night in 12th month in Thai calendar (usually in November) because the river is high and the weather is cooler.

This is one of our beautiful and spiritual cultures....Let's go "Loy Kra-thong"
