On February, it is such perfect time to experience the beauty of snow in Japan. One of our destinations is Ginzan Onsen which I have seen this village in a famous film called "Oshin". It is not so difficult to get there but there are just a few buses a day. This causes us to spend almost the whole day in this village. Are you ready? Let's go!

Our journey starts at Yamagata Train Station. It is a freezing day with 0 degrees Celsius.

We choose to take the train at 8.42 a.m. to arrive in Oishida at 9.31 a.m. in case we miss the bus. So, we will still have time for the next one.

For people from Tokyo, they can take Shinkansen (the high-speed railway lines) and arrive at 9.40 a.m.

We choose the first bus to Ginzan Onzen which is 9.50 a.m. Anyone who would like to go at different time can check on the timetable above.

We take JR Ou Line (the red line) which does many stops along the way. On the other hand, ones who go by Shinkansen from Yamagata Station have to get off at the fourth station. Don't forget that.

The farther the train goes, the thicker the snow on the way. I can definitely feel the real winter time.

It is snowing a little when we get to Oishida Station.

We walk across the footbridge to get out of the station and wait for a bus to the village. This is the photo of the footbridge.

We are on the opposite side of the station. This picture shows the sign of the station name.

There are no people outside of the station since it is too cold.

We make a left after getting out of the station and get into the bus waiting room to wait for the bus.

During the way to the bus stop, I see a notice board saying "Welcome to Oishida" showing recommended tourist attractions in the town.

This is a photo of the bus stop for ones who are coming here. You just walk for 50 meters from the station (the station is right behind the red car.).

At 9.45 a.m., the bus has come. There are another 2 Thai guys and the others 4 tourists coming with us. So, plenty of seats are still available.

I have been on the bus for 40 minutes when we reach the last stop "Ginzan Hot Spring"

We see a sign saying "Welcome to Ginzan Hot Spring" with a map but I don't understand.

I take a photo of the timetable showing the time we have to get back here at 1.25 p.m.

A few steps from the bus stop, this is what we see when we look at the way to Ginzan.

We keep walking down the road looking forward to seeing the village down there. It is pretty freezing.

We stop walking a while to take pictures of the beautiful scenery.

We have been walking around 300 meters until we get there.

It is not so far really.

On the right there is a souvenir shop.

We take a left, go over the bridge, and then get a few photos. There is a camber covered by snow with a coffee machine inside. We can get into it to feel a little warmer.

Next to the camber, there is a couple soaking their feet in the arranged area.

We walk over another bridge and see an information office. Then, we get into it.

We inform an official that we are Thai and he gives us a map in Thai.

As soon as we get the map, our sightseeing tour is started.

From now on, I will show you pictures of the surroundings of our walking tour.

We visit a bakery selling some snack and bread stuffed with curry (the shop with the fuchsia color). It is said to be very delicious. Anyway, I don't like curry so I don't try it.

This is the last spot we can reach since they closed the way. We do take photos of a waterfall.

We go back and continue to take pictures.

We see a soba restaurant in the map. We get into it (the restaurant in the left.)

My mom is the first one to get in the restaurant. She is probably very hungry.

This is the atmosphere in the restaurant. We take seats on the first floor since my mom can't easily walk up the second floor. But I recommend you to go to the upper floor. It has got the better view.

I'm ready to order. I feel like something warm as it is really cold.

This is the menu and the prices. They are a little more expensive than the others but it is worth it since I am more than happy to have something hotter and stay in this warmer place.

We still have some time left so I stroll around the village to take more photos.

During this time, we stay in the camber soaking our feet in hot water. Its surroundings are quite wonderful with an incredibly beautiful view and just a few people.

Let's take a look at the temperature. It is haft past twelve but the temperature is 2 degrees Celsius. It is still freezing.

At 12.45, we walk to the bus stop haft an hour before the bus comes to ensure we will not miss the bus. The bus comes with a tour group. Luckily, we come before them.

We reach back to the train station and we have another haft an hour before the train comes. Then, we go to watch TV in a room next to a shop.

We go back to Yamagata at 2.38 p.m. The Thai guys we met on the way come with us but they take Shinkansen to Tokyo. So, they have to wait until 3.33 pm.

There comes the train. See you again.

Tomorrow we will travel to ZAO. Don't forget to follow us.
