Kanchanaburi, a province in Western Thailand I found pretty attractive and enjoyable. Arts, nature, history, food, night life, and much more. We’ve experienced so much in such a short period of time. It’s not a small province so I’m sure there’s much more for us to explore and enjoy. Like, that day when we’re heading to one of the most famous and beautiful temple called ‘Wat Tham Sua (วัดถ้ำเสือ)’, we luckily got lost and went the wrong way. Wait, luckily? Yes! We found this area that’s super duper to explore! The area full of rice fields and hey, pretty and unique cafes along the way! This one I loved so much and I’m sure you would too! ‘Meena Cafe (มีนาคาเฟ่)

Meena Cafe (มีนาคาเฟ่)

Funny how they play with the name. I didn’t even understand it at first so I think it’s a deep joke, kind of. My friend explained it to me and I was like, ‘Whoa LOL’

Meena : มีนา means March
Mee : มี means to have
Na : นา means rice field

I literally think simply it could just be something about the month, March. Either it’s the owner birthday, her name, the cafe’s founded in that month or you know, that simple.

No, it’s a bit more complicated than that. On the plastic cup, there’s this saying printed ‘มีนา เมื่อไหร่จะมีแฟน’ which actually means ‘Already have rice fields, when will I have gf/bf’

I was literally just LOLOLOLOL !! Didn’t think of that, like, really!

Ok, we’ve been just rambling and you probably don’t even understand what I was trying to tell Well, one thing I would love you to know is, this is one of the most unique cafe I have been to. Meena cafe’s built among rice fields and have this beautiful hill top temple, Wat Tham Sua (วัดถ้ำเสือ) a bit farther as a background. It’s so pretty that I’d need to say!

Besides just having an air-conditioned room for you to cool down from the heat, they also provide many spots for chilling out door in the nature under the blue sky! Lovely how they adapt all these materials they would use in real life for growing rice / real farmer style in this huge area as a cafe.. See! Look at those creepy scarecrows!!

There’s a zone in a shade with weird looking hammock I would love to just relax and maybe nap a bit just there. Unfortunately, it’s a hot spot! Always occupied for a few hours that we’re there. Oh! If I haven’t mentioned just yet, Meena cafe’s packed! Always packed!

Inside the Meena Cafe

The outside area was lovely! The roof top is real hot but very great view. Now once we walked inside to get some drinks and dessert, it’s homey, cozy and cute!

Food and beverage at Meena Cafe, were good looking and decent tastes. We had strawberry cheesecake, cold chocolate and lemon-honey. I would say it’s affordable considered everything they offer. It’s like you go played in a rice farmer theme park or something. Sooo cooooll!

It’s not just food, drink and the vibes. It’s also so great to walk around and take photos. I mean, tons of photos! Like, unique ones and Thai country style kind of photos We of course did! Let’s walk around with us, would you?

If you love hanging out at cafes and love chilling while having some drinks, Meena cafe is sure one of must-visit places in Kanchanaburi. If you don’t like big crowd, around the area where Meena cafe located, there’re a few more cafes that have the same style but less crowded.

It’s such a great quick stop also if you already plan to visit the Kanchanaburi’s famous temple, Wat Tham Sua (วัดถ้ำเสือ) or Wat Tham Khao Noi (วัดถ้ำเขาน้อย).
