It was 4 years ago when I first heard of and went to Koh Nang Yuan, an island that dreams are made of. Soft white sandy beaches that meet shades of turquoise and azure clear water. If heaven existed on earth, it would have to be here.

My first visit to this island wasn't that great. We were met with bad weather and a hazy sky. Still, I was happy to be here.

Fast forward to 2020, I am even more lucky to be back to one of my favorite island.

Ah yes! Clear blue sky. Makes everything look better, doesn't it?

Too touristy?

Back in 2016, it was already getting very popular. There were lots of people waiting in line to take a photo. This year though, it seems things got worse. I had to wait for 15 minutes for my turn!

Sure it was a long a weekend but still. We don't even have international tourists right now. So imagine what it is like here during normal circumstances (no COVID).

But I feel having to hurry up just for photos takes the actual experience away. It's just another shot for Instagram. A fleeting memory. No chance to really enjoy the experience and soak up the view.

Another visit?

If only the island was closer to home that I could keep going back.

I think I will have to go back once again and maybe stay a night here. Or maybe rent a kayak and spend the entire day here before and after all the tourists come.

I would spend my day snorkeling around. Taking photos till my heart's content. Kayak some more around the island. Time would be on my side without having to worry if my tour will leave without me.

I would sip cocktails at the restaurant and chill on the beach. Perhaps I'll even climb those rocks and take some risks. After all, life is an adventure or nothing at all.

Until then, I am looking forward to exploring and discovering new places in Thailand.

Where shall I go next?
