I woke up feeling tired this morning because I went to Warm up café yesterday and came back late. I was also very hungry. As planned, I had to try "Khao Soi" as soon as I arrived in Chiang Mai.

I did some research on famous khao soi restaurants that weren't too far from the hotel, and I came across the name "Khao Soi Simeo Jai".

This restaurant is located in an alley off the super highway. It's not hard to find. Once you turn into the alley, you'll see cars parked in front of the restaurant. Just park on the side of the road like everyone else and walk in to order your food.

The menu of this restaurant is displayed on the wall. There are a variety of dishes, including Khao Soi, which is the restaurant's signature dish. There are Khao Soi with pork, beef, and chicken, as well as grilled pork, which is also a popular menu item.

I ordered Khao Soi Moo and Moo Satay to try. From my experience, having never eaten Khao Soi before, I found the taste to be acceptable.

I didn't find it particularly delicious, but I understand it might be a local favorite. If you ask me if I would eat it again, I would say yes. The satay was also edible, but nothing special.

Overall, I don't think this restaurant is anything special. If I come to Chiang Mai again, I might try other khao soi restaurants. But if you haven't tried this restaurant yet, you can give it a try.

Continue the activity at "Flying Squirrels"

After finishing our Khao Soi breakfast, we returned to the hotel to let the food settle for about an hour before the van from Flying Squirrels picked us up. The journey from the city center to Ban Pong Krai sub-district took about 1 hour.


Upon arrival, we were given the option to have the company-provided meal before or after the activity. The food was buffet-style, with a main menu of 3-4 dishes. The dishes I had were chicken massaman curry and stir-fried vegetables. In addition, there were fruits and tea/coffee available for free.


More than half of the tourists who come to play this activity are Chinese. I also asked the staff why Thai people don't play very often. They said that Thai people don't dare to play very often. Many people are afraid of heights.


The Flying Squirrels activity base here has a total of 32 bases, including ziplining from one tree to another and walking on ropes tied from one tree to another. This was a new experience for me to play this kind of activity.

Flying Squirrels will have a total of 5 rounds in a day, starting from the morning. Each round takes about 2 hours, including lunch. If you include the round trip, it will take about 4 hours.

This activity can also help us release our fears and overcome ourselves. Which is another way to build courage.

As soon as the Flying Squirrels' car dropped us off at the hotel, we were hungry again. There were so many restaurants that we hadn't tried yet, so we decided to try a little bit from each one so that we could try as many as possible.


Our first stop is "Kua Gai Nimmanha," located in Nimmanhaemin Soi 17, next to the famous Iberry, a landmark of Chiang Mai.

This restaurant boasts a diverse menu with dozens of options, but the two dishes that seem to be ordered by every table are the "Stir-fried Chicken Wrapped in Egg" and the "Stir-fried Seafood Wrapped in Egg." I decided to order both of these signature dishes myself.

The taste is very good, very delicious. The noodles are soft, stir-fried with the meat very well. Served on a hot pan, it's even more delicious. Eaten with a little chili sauce, it's the best (I still want to go back and eat it while writing this).


After that, we went to the second restaurant, which is located in the next alley. "Curry Mee Noodle" is located in Nimmanhaemin Soi 15. The restaurant is a food truck located in the middle of the alley (next to the Steak Meet Love restaurant where we ate on the first night).

This restaurant has a limited menu, focusing on curry dishes. You can choose to have your curry served on white rice, khao soi noodles, or ramen noodles. There are also a variety of toppings to choose from, including pork bones and叉烧 (chā shāo).

We came here three people but I ordered from only one shop, thinking that we would just have a taste and then go to another shop. But one bowl was enough to make me and my friends so full that we couldn't go to another shop anymore.


Every Saturday night, there is a walking street on Wualai Road, and I never miss the chance to walk around and experience Chiang Mai here. Usually, there are two walking streets. On Saturdays, it's on Wualai Road, but on Sundays, it's on Tha Pae Walking Street, which I haven't been to yet. But I've heard it's bigger than Wualai Road.

Wualai Walking Street is a melting pot of cultures, offering a glimpse into the unique charm of Chiang Mai. From the delectable local cuisine to the handcrafted souvenirs, every corner is a treasure trove of discoveries. But what truly captivated me were the impromptu performances that unfolded along the way. Melodious tunes filled the air as talented artists sketched portraits, adding a touch of magic to the already vibrant atmosphere.

I recommend tourists to take a walk on the walking street in Chiang Mai, whether it is Wualai Road or Thapae Road, because you will see the real culture of Chiang Mai.


To end the night at Myst (Maya), a rooftop bar located on the Maya shopping mall, in the Nimman Hill project.


The view from above is amazing. You can see the entire Nimmanhaemin Road from above. The air is cool and comfortable, especially during the winter. It must be a really great atmosphere.

This restaurant is known for its cocktails, which are both visually and tastefully exciting. The original Myst branch is located in Thonglor, and this is the second branch.


After sitting down and chatting with the owner, Pin explained that the price of the branch is cheaper than the Thonglor branch to fit the lifestyle of Chiang Mai people who tend to like to get drunk but don't want to pay too much. If you compare the quality, atmosphere and the money you pay, I think this shop is not expensive at all. And it is a Landmark that anyone who comes to Chiang Mai should come and chill here for a night before going back.


For today, I'm going to take a break before I have to return to Bangkok tomorrow.
