After the successful opening ceremony of the inaugural flight to Narathiwat,

Thai Smile Airways, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Narathiwat Office,

organized a press trip to explore tourist attractions in Narathiwat province.

The trip aims to promote tourism routes to Narathiwat.

The first place we will visit is the "Narathiwat Provincial Mosque".

From the central mosque, we can walk to the second tourist attraction, "Preedanat Ratasat Bridge".

to watch the sunset from the bridge.

Both sides will be the fishing villages of this area.

The third tourist attraction is "Narathas Beach".

Located in Mueang District, Narathiwat Province, not far from Preedanarathas Bridge.

Getting there: It is located 1 kilometer from Narathiwat town along Phichit Bamrung Road. You can easily take a motorcycle, tricycle or small songthaew from Narathiwat town to Narathas Beach.

Narathat Beach is a clean white sand beach about 5 kilometers long, ending at the tip of the cape at the mouth of the Bang Nara River.

Which is used as a venue for the annual Gorae boat race. The line of pine trees makes the atmosphere by the sea more shady. Nearby, there are fishing villages lined up along the banks of the Bang Nara River, and there are many Gorae boats parked in the bay.

You can also watch the sunset here.

I'm a little disappointed that the sky wasn't very cooperative on the day I went to I am Devil, the bad girl.

On the beach, you will find locals from Narathiwat and tourists from nearby areas relaxing.

Some come as families, while others come with groups of friends.

They buy food to eat and relax by the beach.

The children are playing in the sand.

It reminds me of my childhood when I went to the beach.

I am Devil, the little villain, I really want to go back to my childhood again ^___^

At Narathat Beach, there are food and drink vendors with carts where you can purchase snacks and refreshments.

Before we check in, our guide, Sara, took us to buy some souvenirs.

Kruepoh, or fresh fried rice crackers, is a delicious snack from Narathiwat.

If you visit here, don't miss buying some souvenirs to take home.

The owner of this shop is very kind and lovely. She even let us try some kruepoh.

The shop is located near our accommodation, in the Narathiwat city market area.

We stayed at the Tanyong Hotel, which is located in the city of Narathiwat.

You can find more information about the hotel on their website: Tanyong Hotel

(Since we arrived late at night, I am Devil, the bad girl, took pictures of the hotel the next day.)

Tan Yong Hotel is a single-building hotel with a total of 4 floors.

Hotel Lobby

The bed is soft and comfortable. I am Devil, the bad girl, and I slept soundly.

We stayed here for 2 nights.

Let's take a look inside the bathroom. There are towels for 2 people.

The bathroom amenities include soap and shower caps.

If you want to soak in warm water, there is also a bathtub.

We had dinner at the banquet hall of the Tanjung Hotel.

The menu for tonight includes:

Appetizer: Fish crackers

Salad: Vegetable salad with fermented fish sauce

Main course:

- Gai Khor (a southern Thai dish)

- Sea bass with fish sauce

- Yellow curry with sea bass and young coconut shoots

- Budu sauce with fresh vegetables (Budu sauce is a specialty of the three southernmost provinces of Thailand) This is a must-try menu.

A must-try menu is

Fish maw curry, served with rice noodles and boiled eggs.

Every dish is spicy, with a strong curry flavor and a rich taste.

I am Devil, the villain is also a southern person. The taste is very good.

My favorite menu is Gaeng Tai Pla and Nam Budu.

After eating savory food, follow it with dessert.

Served with fruits such as watermelon, pineapple, mango and cantaloupe.

And dessert, roti, served with condensed milk and sugar.

If you come to Narathiwat, don't miss Roti.

Rest tonight and save your energy for sightseeing the next day.

The next morning, Day 2, have breakfast at the Tanjung Hotel.

The hotel breakfast will be the same as other hotels.

What I am Devil, the villain, wants to present is "Khao Yam".

Nature Study Trail of Ao Manao - Khao Tanyong National Park

There are various types of forest trees and a waterfall where you can swim, called "Thara Sawan Waterfall".

The park officials talked about the history of the park.

(You can read more at National Park Office)

I am Devil, the villain, and I didn't get to enter the national park.

There wasn't enough time, and there were many other tourist attractions to visit.

So, I'm here to share some pictures of Ao Manao with you.

Ao Manao is a beach that stretches from the eastern coast of Pattani Province. It is a curved bay that connects to each other, about 4 kilometers long, with rocky cliffs interspersed with curved beaches at intervals. One side is adjacent to the Taksina Rajanives Palace. Along the beach, there is a lush garden and rows of pine trees, making it a perfect place to relax.

People from Narathiwat and nearby tourists come to relax and play in the water.

The 5th tourist attraction is "Wat Chana Thara Singhe"

Located in Moo 3, Cha-ha Subdistrict, Tak Bai District, Narathiwat Province

Getting there: From the city, take the Narathiwat - Tak Bai route (Highway 4084) to the Tak Bai Market intersection, then turn left for another 100 meters to the temple entrance. You can take a bus to Tak Bai District, including songthaews, vans, and buses. Get off at the Tak Bai District intersection and walk for another 500 meters. However, the van will take you to the temple.

Wat Chana Thara Singhe was originally called Wat Tha Pru or Wat Cha-ha. It was built in 1860 during the late reign of King Rama IV of the Rattanakosin Kingdom by Phra Kru Ophasaputthakun (Phut). This temple is historically significant because it marked the border between Thailand and British Malaya between 1908 and 1909. King Rama V claimed that Wat Thara Singhe was a Buddhist heritage of Thailand, so there was no need to cede the land north of the Tak Bai River to the British. For this reason, Wat Chana Thara Singhe has been nicknamed "The Temple of the Protector of Thai Land" ever since. The religious buildings in Wat Chana Thara Singhe have been constructed and renovated in many periods according to the architectural style of southern Thailand. The important buildings within the temple include:

1. The Ubosot was built in 1873 during the reign of King Rama V. It is an architectural style of the royal patronage in the reign of King Rama III. The interior has murals depicting Traiphum, the assembly of gods, and the life of the Buddha.

2. The Chedi is a tall bell-shaped chedi built around the middle of the 25th Buddhist century.

3. The Reclining Buddha was built in 1941. It is a stucco Buddha statue decorated with gold-colored glass. The Buddha statue is enshrined in a niche decorated with European, Chinese, and Japanese porcelain.

4. The bell tower was originally a library pavilion in the middle of the water. When it was damaged, it was moved to land and converted into a bell tower.

5. The abbot's residence was built between 1904 and 1913. The interior has murals.

6. The residence of Phra Kru Wimon Sthapankit was built in 1939. The interior has murals.

7. The residence of Sitsasapradit was built in 1955 and became the Wat Chana Thara Singhe Museum in 2000.

The Fine Arts Department announced the registration of Wat Thara Singhe as a national ancient monument on July 21, 1975. The restoration and landscape improvement of the ancient monuments within Wat Chana Thara Singhe have been continuously carried out since 1984 - 2001 to preserve this ancient monument as a cultural heritage of the nation.

Let's take a look inside the kuti.

As I am Devil, the villain, mentioned the history

This kuti has been renovated, so the ceiling with the sun and moon has disappeared.

Example of the image on the front page

Before we take a walk inside the kuti, let's learn about it from the video first.

Let's take a walk inside and see what stories we can find.

Like these two statues, they seem to be signing some kind of agreement.

I am Devil, the villain, and I don't know either. I didn't ask the staff, so I apologize.

Thai Wire Carving: The "Knok" Pattern

This zone displays the tools used by villagers to make a living, including fishing equipment, traps, and cages.

On the day of I am Devil, the little devil, came to visit near the Songkran festival.

Therefore, villagers, both Thai and Thai Muslims, came to help arrange flowers.

To pour water on the heads of the elderly on Songkran Day

From asking the guide why Muslims can help with work in the temple

Because I have never seen Thai Muslims enter a temple.

The guide said that if there is a merit-making event, Thai Muslims often come to help with the merit-making event.

The Ubosot

The Ubosot was built in 1873 during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). It is located in the center of the temple, facing the Tak Bai River to the north. The structure is made of brick and mortar with a roof of terracotta tiles. The roof is multi-layered at the front, and the roof of the Ubosot has three tiers of overlapping eaves. It is supported by square-shaped pillars that support the rafters. The upper part is decorated with gable ornaments, floral motifs, and finials. The pediment is decorated with stucco work depicting Indra riding the Erawan elephant. The doors and windows are arched in the shape of a crown. There are eight surrounding walls with steps and lintels.

Inside the ordination hall, the principal Buddha image is enshrined in the attitude of subduing Mara within a glass pavilion. In addition, there are murals depicting the Traiphum, episodes from the life of the Buddha, such as his ascent to Tavatimsa Heaven, his Great Renunciation, and his conversion of his father, as well as an assembly of deities and scenes of local life in Tak Bai district.

The Chedi

The Chedi is the main stupa of Wat Chalotharasinghe, located on the east side of the temple. It was built around 1913-1919 and completed in 1941. It is a bell-shaped stupa, made of brick and mortar on a high square base. It is surrounded by a circumambulation path. The Chedi exhibits the architectural style of the southern region.

Pavilion by the River

The pavilion by the river is located in front of the ordination hall. It is a beautiful pavilion with a hall-like structure. On June 6, 1915, King Rama VI of the Rattanakosin Kingdom traveled by water to Tak Bai district. He then ascended to the pavilion by the river to watch the boat race and offer alms to the temple.

The price of the catfish is 1,000 baht or more per kilogram.

The shop will pack it in a beautiful box, ready to be a gift.

But on the day we went, the shop told us that the catfish they dried in the sun was not ready yet.

So there were no products for us to buy as souvenirs.

The crossing can be made by long-tail boat or car ferry, which depart every 30 minutes.

Between 06.30 am – 17.30 pm. The fare is 7 baht per person. Bus 100 baht.

The insurance costs 600-700 baht and the insurance period ranges from 9 days to 1 year.

Those who want to cross the river with a rubber dinghy can wait here.

Most people from Malaysia will cross the border to Thailand

to buy things and then cross back.

Can I take a picture of you, local people?

I am Devil, the villain. Yes, you can. Look at the camera and smile.

1…2…3 Click. You look so cute.

The area around Tak Bai checkpoint is a market with a lot of things to sell.

They sell fruits according to the season.

There are snacks for sale, which if anyone has ever been to Kim Yong Market, Hat Yai District

The snacks sold in the Danok area are similar.

Muslim headscarves, the shopkeeper said that Malaysians like to cross the border to buy them.

Because the price in Thailand is cheaper than in Malaysia.

The price is 130 baht per piece, if you buy 2 pieces, the price is 250 baht.

Mercedes-Benz cars in the southern region will be used as taxis.

How Peat Swamp Forests are formed: Peat Swamp Forests are formed in freshwater depressions that have been stagnant for a long time. Layers of soil and organic matter, such as plant and tree remains, accumulate and slowly decompose into peat. Peat is an organic soil that is spongy like a sponge, has low density, and can hold a lot of water. It has been found that peat and marine sediment layers alternate 2-3 times, indicating that the sea level has risen and flooded the peat swamp forest, resulting in the accumulation of sediment and the presence of seawater inside. The original trees in the peat swamp forest died, and mangroves took their place. When the sea level dropped and rain accumulated, the stagnant water became freshwater, and the peat swamp forest was reborn. The lower layer of peat is 6,000-7,000 years old, while the upper layer is 700-1,000 years old.

The tall red betel nut palm is commonly found in the Toh Daeng swamp.

Don't forget to take a souvenir photo here when you come! ^_____^

Walk into the nature study trail, a wooden bridge that leads into the swamp forest.

Distance 1,200 meters

The peat swamp forest is home to over 400 plant species. There are interesting plant name signs as well.

Here are some photos from my hike in the swamp.

I am Devil, the villain, and I met a group of little monkeys too.

Novice monks came to study nature in the swamp forest. They are taking pictures of the little monkeys.

Tourist attraction No. 10 "Su-ngai Kolok Checkpoint"

Su-ngai Kolok city is the largest border trade checkpoint in the province. It is also convenient for both Thai and Malaysian people to travel back and forth. There is an international bridge open from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Thai people often cross to Rantau Panjang to buy various goods, including snacks and toys. There are duty-free shops. As for Malaysians, they will cross to buy food and fruits.

Getting there: Su-ngai Kolok Checkpoint is 1 kilometer away from Su-ngai Kolok Railway Station. There are two ways to get there from Narathiwat town: take Highway 4055 (Narathiwat - Ra-ngae) and turn left at Ban Ma-nang Ta-yo to follow Route 4056 through Su-ngai Padi district into Su-ngai Kolok district. Or take Highway 4054 from Narathiwat town to Tak Bai district and turn right onto Route 4057 (Tak Bai - Su-ngai Kolok), a distance of 66 kilometers. From Su-ngai Kolok Checkpoint, you can drive across the bridge to visit Kota Bharu in Malaysia, but you must have car insurance.

At first glance, I thought it was a Chinese temple, but it wasn't. It's a mosque on the Malaysian side.

The guide didn't tell me the name of this mosque.

Tourist attraction No. 11 is "Toh Moh Shrine"

Located in Phuthon Alley, Charoen Khet Road, Su-ngai Kolok Municipality.

Toh Moh Shrine was originally located at Toh Moh's house in Sukirin District. Later, the villagers invited her to be enshrined in Su-ngai Kolok District. She is highly respected by the people of Su-ngai Kolok and nearby provinces, as well as by Chinese people in Malaysia. Every year, there is an annual festival held at the shrine, which coincides with the third month of the Chinese calendar (around April). The festival features many activities, such as a procession of the goddess, a lion dance, an Engko procession, a long drum procession, and a fire-walking ceremony.

This year, the Toh Moh Shrine Festival was held on May 6, 2015.

Tourists and people of Su-ngai Kolok have started playing Songkran.

Tourist attraction No. 13 "Khao Kong Buddhist Park"

Located at Wat Khao Kong Mongkol Ming Mit Patitharam, Lamphu Subdistrict, Mueang Narathiwat District

Getting there: From the city center, take the Narathiwat - Ra-ngae route, Highway No. 4055, approximately 9 kilometers.

Khao Kong Buddha Park (Khao Kong Temple - Phra Phuttha Thaksin Ming Mongkol) covers an area of 142 rai. Khao Kong has been an important center of Buddhism since ancient times, as evidenced by archaeological evidence, which indicates that Narathiwat Province was once a center of Buddhist society, at least around the 8th-9th centuries AD.

The golden Taksin Ming Mongkol Buddha statue in the posture of the first sermon with diamond legs crossed is a work of South Indian art. Construction began in 1966 and was completed in 1969. The statue is made of reinforced concrete and adorned with gold mosaics. It has a lap width of 17 meters and a height of 24 meters from the top of the head to the lotus pedestal below the ankles. It is considered the most beautiful and largest outdoor Buddha statue in southern Thailand.

Luang Pu Por Lae, a former Muslim, was seriously ill and could not be cured anywhere. Until he came to be treated at a temple, he said that if he was cured, he would become a monk. And not long after, he was cured. He then had faith in Buddhism and was ordained as a monk from then on. Later, he became the first abbot of Wat Khao Kong, which was highly respected and revered by villagers in both Narathiwat and neighboring provinces.

This mosque is still used as a place of worship for Muslims. If you wish to visit the interior, you must obtain permission from the village imam. Generally, only the exterior is open to the public.

The classroom only has a roof to protect from the sun. If it rains, everyone will get wet.

Because it is not a classroom with walls on both sides.

This classroom, although it is partitioned as a classroom, has no walls. When it rains heavily and the wind blows strongly,

we cannot continue our studies.

This building is divided into 2 classrooms without any walls separating them.
