When traveling to Bangkok, finding accommodation that meets the needs of all travelers is a must. Easy access, close to shopping areas, and food available all night long. These criteria are probably met by tourist attractions like Phrom Phong, but finding affordable accommodation in this area can be difficult. But did you know that there is one place that can meet all your needs? That's the S Box Sukhumvit Hotel. : )
The S Box Sukhumvit Hotel is part of the S Hotel group. There's no need to mention the quality of the rooms, as it's a branch of S Hotel, so the quality is not inferior to other hotels in the group. The S Box Sukhumvit Hotel is located at the mouth of Sukhumvit Soi 31, next to BTS Phrom Phong. You can walk from BTS Phrom Phong station for no more than 10 minutes.
The hotel's security system is as good as any other hotel. The passenger lift can only be accessed using a key card.
The S Box Sukhumvit Hotel offers a variety of room sizes, from capsule rooms to rooms that are 21 square meters in size. This makes it a great option for backpackers. The room I stayed in, the Box 5.5, was 14 square meters in size.
The 14-square-meter room is actually quite small, but the design and furniture layout make it feel spacious and comfortable, even for solo travelers. However, there is no mini-bar in the room, but there is a coin-operated vending machine in the lobby for drinks.
The room amenities are considered complete, including tea, coffee, a kettle, a hairdryer, and a safe under the bed. There are 2 wardrobes. As for the bathroom, it is not too small. There is a rain shower with hot and cold water system. The toilet has a bidet spray. There are also 2 towels, 2 small towels, shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush, comb, hair cap, cotton buds, and bar soap in the bathroom.
The highlight of the bedroom at S Box Sukhumvit Hotel is the high-tech features. Inside the room, we can control the color of the lights and the curtains with a remote control.
All remotes will be in the orange box inside the room in front of the TV. This includes the TV remote, the curtain remote, and the room light control remote (close the curtains and have fun with the lights!).
For breakfast, the hotel will allow us to choose what we want from the moment we check in. The breakfast will be served in a box in the morning, and guests can choose to eat downstairs or have it delivered to their room. In the breakfast area, there will be orange juice, coffee, and boiled eggs available. (However, the hotel has whispered that after September 1st, the hotel will change to a Mini-Breakfast. Or, if you want to enjoy a full breakfast, you can pay an additional 200 baht and walk across the street to eat in the S31 hotel's restaurant.)
As we all know, Sukhumvit Soi 31 is full of delicious restaurants. One of the most popular and delicious restaurants in the area is ISAO, a Japanese fusion restaurant. Many people try to book a table but are always disappointed. From the hotel, it only takes 3 minutes to walk to ISAO.
The food at ISAO restaurant offers both Japanese fusion cuisine and traditional Japanese dishes such as sushi and tempura. The restaurant has many popular dishes, but the one that every table orders is the maki called Jacky, or as it is affectionately known, the "caterpillar maki". This restaurant is delicious and the iced green tea is also very refreshing. : )
The S Box Sukumvit Hotel is also located in the heart of the city, close to Bangkok landmarks such as Emquartier shopping mall. You can easily walk there, or take the BTS Skytrain for just 1-2 stations to reach the nightlife hotspots of Thonglor-Ekkamai. The hotel's location is perfect for tourists who love to relax and hang out.
Summary:
- The hotel is excellent. The beds are comfortable, and there are plenty of pillows. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the BTS Prompong station.
- This hotel is ideal for tourists who prefer exploring the city rather than staying in the hotel. If you're looking for a place to rest your head, this hotel is perfect.
- The rooms are well-soundproofed. While there may be some faint sounds of people talking outside the room, it doesn't affect sleep at night. There is no noise from traffic outside.
- It's perfect for solo travelers, as they offer single rooms.
