Plearnwan Shopping Center: Bang Rod Community @ Siam Square ONE
Another project that extends from Plearnwan in Hua Hin has opened its doors in the heart of the city at Siam Square ONE, 3rd floor. It draws inspiration from the Bang Rod community during the era when American GIs established a military base in Thailand. The space is designed as a small food court with various stalls. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by a 1,000 baht card that serves as your currency within the space. Inside, you'll find Smile Club Thailand, a barbershop owned by Tony Rakkaen; Baan Glom Gig, a shop selling delicious chili pastes in jars; Plearnwan Cafe; Pak Wan ice cream by Namwan Sasasa; and other eateries such as Khao Chin Jae Jae, Tien Wua Noodle, Kuaitiao Reua Khanom Wan, Sib Lor Ror Rak, Casaper Burger, and a bar from Trok Bang Yi Khan.
Let's start with the storefront.
Smile Club Thailand Hair Salon
The atmosphere inside the shop
This place has two seating areas: inside and outside. The inside area has approximately 50-60 seats.
And the outdoor zone, which is an outdoor area with about 20 old trucks parked as a gimmick for the restaurant. Around 7pm, there will be live music playing.
After being amazed by the atmosphere for a while, it took a while to start ordering, and I walked around to understand it for a while. I went there last Christmas (this menu is only available for a limited time, so I forgot to post it). So there was a green and red burger (229 baht) from Casper, which was served as a pair. The red color is from beetroot and the green color is from spinach. The red one is a fried pork burger and the green one is a beef burger. It comes with a small amount of vegetables as a ceremony.
Another menu from this shop is the Kurobuta Burger Set (169 baht), which comes with fries and a soft drink.
Another menu is pork noodles (55 baht) from the noodle shop in front of the warehouse. This shop has both Kurobuta pork and sirloin or ribeye beef noodles, but I ordered the regular Thai pork. The soup is fragrant and sweet, very delicious. The pork is not overcooked, with a slight reddish tinge, which would be better if it were cooked through.
Fried egg (80 baht)
The shrimp paste chili with salted egg and rice (69 baht) and fresh spring rolls were just average. Nothing special. I don't know which restaurant has the best fried egg dish. The chili paste with rice looked a bit dry, but it wasn't actually hard. The spring rolls were good, the sauce was okay.
After finishing the meal, I walked out, returned the card, and paid the bill. It's no different from the Food Court in Central Group's department stores.
Overall, the place is nice, the atmosphere is good, and it's easy to get to. However, I was indifferent to the food. I tried several dishes, but maybe I didn't order the right ones.
