If you talk about the Marina Bay Sands, everyone is familiar with it. With its unique shape, it stands tall in the middle of Marina Bay, Singapore. But are you tired of the same old photo angles you've seen before? Today, I'm going to take you on a journey to sit and chill on a walkway that stretches out into the sea at the southern end of Marina Bay. You can enjoy a panoramic view of Marina Bay without spending a single dollar!

Old version review. Singapore is not just about the Merlion

The beginning of the discovery..

I must first say that Singapore is another country where you can safely cycle on the roads. There are bicycle paths in recreational areas such as parks. The purpose of cycling here is both for recreation and even commuting to work. And of course, I decided to buy a mountain bike last year to exercise and cycle to work.

Being very excited about my new bike (when I first bought it), I decided to go for a ride around Marina Bay, Gardens by The Bay, and then on to Marina Barrage. At that moment, I glanced to my right and saw a long walkway extending out into the sea, with people fishing all over it. That meant "there must be a way to get there..." So I tried cycling over there, and it turned out there was a small road leading in. So I took my bike and explored it...

▲ Our goal is the walkway extending out into the sea on the left side of the picture.

It is a long, curved walkway that extends out into the sea, offering a unique view of Marina Bay. At that time, the sun was about to set, so I sat and watched the sun set over the horizon. Plus, the cool sea breeze was blowing, it was so good. At that time, I couldn't believe there was such a place in Singapore...

▲ Our coordinates today.. From Google Map

The advantage of having a bicycle is that it can take us anywhere we want, because sometimes using public transportation may not take us to beautiful places like this. But if we don't have a bicycle, we can use our "two feet" to walk to explore and experience new things. However, a bicycle can save us a lot of energy. Actually, if anyone comes to Singapore, they will notice that they have to walk a lot in a day. Some people complain about leg pain when they return to Thailand after their trip. But walking allows us to really take in the small details. ..

Let's explore again..

Last time I went in the evening before sunset, but today I changed my mind and wanted to try going in the morning. When the sun just rises, I should get another beautiful picture.

7:15 a.m. .. The alarm clock went off.

Today is Monday morning. I argued with myself for a while whether to sleep more, but in the end, I successfully reached an agreement with my body. I have a mission to do, which is to find beautiful pictures to make a review. So I washed my face, brushed my teeth, and cycled out of my accommodation.

▲ Marina Barrage Cove where we will be heading this morning... According to Google Maps, it's about 7:45 am when we arrive at our destination. The sun is not too hot yet, so the photos come out with beautiful lighting. I don't see any fishermen, unlike last time when they were everywhere. Maybe they prefer to fish in the evening (just a guess, haha).

This morning at Marina Barrage

From Gardens by The Bay, walk to the very back until you reach Marina Barrage. If you haven't been to Marina Barrage before, you should try going. Go in the evening to watch the sunset, bring a mat to sit on and relax, or have a picnic. You can take some cool photos. In the evening, there will be people flying kites everywhere, similar to Sanam Luang in Thailand. It's a really cozy place.

Once you reach Marina Barrage, walk across the dam, or Marina Barrage bridge. When you reach the end of the walkway, turn right and there will be a small road. Walk down that road and you will find a stone path that stretches out into the sea until the end.

▲Walk along the Marina Barrage bridge

▲Marina Barrage Bridge

▲On the Marina Barrage bridge, try turning to look at the view on the left. Just this is already great... But there's something even better.

▲At the end of the Marina Barrage bridge, there will be a left and right turn. Take the right turn.

▲Turn right here, please.

▲Walk a little further..

▲Notice that there will be a small gravel road. Walk in, the destination is not far away.

▲Heave ho! Almost there... just a little bit more..

▲Our destination..

The sea breeze is still blowing strong today, just like yesterday. It's nice and cool. Actually, this place doesn't have a specific name as far as I can find, so I'm going to give it a playful name: Marina Barrage Cove or The stone bridge that stretches out into the sea at Marina Barrage (named by HungryTraveller 55+).

It's a walkway similar to a seawall, a road paved with stones that stretches out and curves into the sea. Walk all the way to the end, and you'll see the vast sea with large cargo ships everywhere. When you reach the end, turn around and you'll see a different view of Marina Bay, a view that you've never seen before. It's a very expensive view from this point.

Everything remains the same as it was last year when I first visited. For those who come to Singapore and don't feel like they're visiting an island nation, try coming to Marina Barrage Cove. Take some time to let your heart and the wind greet each other. Breathe in the scent of the sea breeze, which has an indescribable fragrance. ..

▲ Looking south, you can see the sea, full of large cargo ships.

▲Marina Bay view.. The view is super expensive!!

▲Young men and women come out to exercise.. (Young men and women?? 55+)

▲A full view of Ao Marina on a day when the sky is super blue

After that, I continued cycling to Garden by The Bay East (remember, you told me to turn right after the Marina Barrage Bridge, but we turned left instead). It's a small asphalt road that runs along Marina Bay on the left, and on the right is a small park, Garden by The Bay East. There are benches at intervals if your legs get tired. In this area, you can also get beautiful photos of Marina Bay from another angle that is just as beautiful as the others.

▲ Continue to arden by The Bay East from Google Map

It's almost ten o'clock, and I've already taken some beautiful photos for the review. The sun is getting stronger, and the photos aren't as good anymore... So I'm cycling back, which is the end of my trip and review for today...

Easy access

  • Marina Barrage Cove Coordinates 1.280782, 103.877635
  • The nearest MRT station is Bayfront (both Downtown line and Circle line)
  • From Gardens by The Bay, walk to the back until you reach Marina Barrage
  • Then walk across the Marina Barrage bridge
  • At the end of the walkway, you will see a three-way intersection. Turn left or right
  • Turn right
  • Walk a little further and you will see a small gravel road
  • Walk into it and you will find a stone path that stretches out into the sea until the end

Things to note

  • Admission is "free" !!! (again!!)
  • If you don't cycle but walk from Gardens by The Bay to your destination, it's quite a distance, but you can walk. Walk slowly, exercise, and if you want a beautiful view, you have to invest a little.
  • If you go in the morning, arrive around eight o'clock, the sun is not too hot
  • But if you go at sunset, it's also beautiful. Arrive around six o'clock, wait for the sunset at nine o'clock, then walk back and have dinner at Satay by the Bay
  • There's nothing to sell around there, so bring your own drinks or snacks. After you're done eating, throw them away in the trash can later
  • The wind is very strong, my hair may be out of shape 55
