Hello everyone, Mang Noi is back again. I've been marinating this review for almost a month now, and I finally have time to continue it. But when I'll finish writing it, I'll have to see. This review is really long (P.S. If I don't start, I'll never write it). And it turns out that... it's past the time to admire the beauty of the tiger lilies, which have already bloomed (they bloom around January-February of each year). So, let's say that this review is written for you guys to plan for next year, okay?
Little Mang had the opportunity to experience that moment with a long trip that had been planned for a year. Because everything was waiting for the right time and everything was perfect.
Every year, Mang Noi takes a big trip to reward herself, but she needs to decide where to go first. How much planning and research does she need to do? Also, it's quite difficult to take a long leave of absence, not to mention the budget. Mang Noi happens to be a salaryman who lives from paycheck to paycheck. But she still loves to travel, so she has to take her time to save up for a long trip. Hehe, Chiang Mai - Pai, Mang Noi went there 5 years ago during the rainy season, which is the most beautiful time of year in Pai. Because of the beauty of the rice fields, the lush green trees and grass, and the water levels in various places are full of rivers and canals, making it refreshingly cool. But I couldn't go out much because it rained all the time. 555 That time I went by airline promotion, all travel was limited by time and places were difficult to reach. If I rented a car, I was afraid of damaging it and being charged extra. After many years, I thought about it and wanted to try visiting again in the winter. Coinciding with wanting to see the Queen's Tiger once in my life, it was the reason I chose to go on this trip. Therefore, this time's planning requires a lot of preparation. The steps in planning a trip start with...
1. Having your own car to travel at your own pace, without time constraints, and to stop at various locations as needed.
2. Choose the location, the province you want to go to (this plan is intended to see the Queen of the Tigers and Pang Ung as the main points). The rest is to study the route, find general points to stop by, so as not to waste the trip. Let's just say it's worth it. (P.S. This plan is quite exciting because the Queen of the Tigers cannot specify the blooming date. I have to do a lot of homework.)
3. Choose your travel dates and check the weather. Avoid traveling during peak season, as you may not have a pleasant experience.
4. Choose your accommodation (Since Mang Noi places a lot of importance on accommodation, and since you're spending money, you want a resort that has a lot to offer, like a second vacation spot.)
5. Earn money to pay for the resort in advance, book early to get the room and accommodation that we like, without having to compete with anyone (most importantly).
6. Plan your daily itinerary. Create a rough schedule and research routes to ensure that your stops are in the same direction. Use information from the internet and books.
7. Take a vacation months in advance, like announcing to everyone that I have booked this day off, no overlapping, and keep reminding my boss that I will be away. If there is anything, let me know while I am still here. 555++ Clear the work, leave the work properly, so that you can travel with peace of mind.
**For those who want to travel comfortably and not as tiring as a grasshopper, you may not need to plan a lot of programs like this. Therefore, the information that the grasshopper will bring to share with friends is the type of one-time trip that is worthwhile. It is considered to be the most collected atmosphere that I have encountered. To be of benefit to those who will choose to go to that place. ^^**
Once everything is ready, it's time to hit the road. For long trips with lots of stops, a GPS on your mobile device is a must-have.

Let me tell you, on my last trip, this thing was a lifesaver. Without it, I would have been so frustrated and wasted so much time. It made it so easy to get to each stop and reach my final destination.
Get your best outfit ready, pack your camera, and don't forget to check your car's condition and have a spare tire on hand in case of emergencies. Finally, don't forget the little things like a warm jacket, a hairdryer (some accommodations don't provide them), chargers for your devices, antihistamines, and fever reducers.
Pinned and ready to go, let's continue. Let's go!
The little grasshopper chose to travel on January 18-25, 2014, which is the period when the dokmai flowers are in full bloom. (Note: I booked all the accommodation in advance, about 6 months before the trip, and then I was worried about whether the flowers would bloom or fall, but not as much as those who booked their flights in advance. That's a lot harder to plan, lol) Before taking you to each place, which are quite far apart, so as not to tire the driver too much, I planned a 6-night, 7-day tour program as follows:
Departing from Bangkok at night - Arriving in Chiang Mai in the morning
Day 1: Explore Chiang Mai and stay in Chiang Mai.
Day 2: Ascend to Khun Chang Kian, stay in Chiang Mai
Day 3: Travel to Pai and stay in Pai.
Day 4: Up to Pang Ung, stay at Rak Thai Village, Mae Hong Son
Day 5: Descend to Pai, stay in Pai
Day 6: Arrive in Chiang Mai and stay in Chiang Mai.
Day 7: Return to Bangkok

Chiang Mai - Mae Hong Son Travel Program (18-25/01/57)
Saturday, January 18, 2014
10:00 p.m. Depart from Bangkok –

(**Due to heavy traffic, the road was closed for the New Year's event. We took the Asian Motorway through Ayutthaya, Ang Thong, Nakhon Sawan, etc.)

Sunday, January 19, 2014
07.00 AM. Just arrived in Lampang / Stopped at a gas station in Lampang to rest our eyes for a while. The driver is very sleepy.
(It's because it's the wrong time, even though we slept a lot, lol)

10.00 a.m. Wash your face and head to Mon Cham, Mae Rim, Samoeng District / Eat mushroom rice porridge

(**GPS doesn't recognize Mon Cham. Start with the route from Mae Rim District, turn left into Mae Sa-em District, the same way as the elephant camp/Mae Sa Waterfall. When you reach Pong Yaeng, you will see a large pavilion. Ask the villagers for directions, because I got lost twice. If you can go up, it will be a small road in the village, not like a tourist attraction. But once you get to the top of the mountain, oh!! It's so beautiful!!! ) I would like to ask for permission to attach your map, which is easy to understand.

Cr. Deebook, President of the Cute Girlfriend Club
Let's take a look at the overall picture on Mon Cham.

(**Rice porridge on Mon Cham, mushrooms are sold out, instead I got rice porridge with leftover pork, very expensive. The taste is ordinary, there is nothing in the bowl. It's a pity for the money.
Consider it as paying for the entrance fee to the garden and the atmosphere. Because the weather is good, sunny but very cold with wind. Beautiful flowers, colorful lettuce, lots of butterflies. I like it.) 12.00 p.m. Mae Sa Waterfall, near Mae Sa Elephant Camp, entrance fee 20.-/person + parking fee 30.- (It's on the way, so I stopped by.)

(**The water level is not very high. There isn't much to see in the waterfall. Mostly, it's just Chiang Mai University students having picnics and eating. There are some white things floating around, but I don't know what they are.)

(**Nearby are Vavi Coffee Shop and Maesa Elephant Camp, which are mostly popular with foreign tourists.) Morning fee 200.-/person Elephant riding fee is separate. 2:30 PM Tita Gallery Coffee Shop

(Delicious : Recommend)

(So glad I found it! It's quite deep inside the alley, but it was worth it. Both the place and the delicious taste of the drinks and cakes impressed me.) 4:00 PM Check in Snooze box (Chiang Mai Airport)

Check out the accommodation reviews at the link below.
http://pantip.com/topic/316325345:30 PM. Chiang Mai Night Safari (Entrance fee 300.-)

Fun & Exciting: Recommendations

(**Changed plans because the resort was not ready to stay. The bedroom was next to the New Year's party venue, which was noisy and ended late. The sound of airplanes was also very loud.)
Instead, I went out for a while and came back to rest late at night when the party was about to end.)
(I really enjoyed the zoo. There was a lot to see, but it's best to arrive before dark so you have time to see the other animals during the day. When entering the zoo, you can choose between a single-day pass or a multi-day pass. The single-day pass is valid for one day, while the multi-day pass is valid for two consecutive days. The multi-day pass is a good option if you want to see everything the zoo has to offer. The zoo is open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily. Admission fees vary depending on age and residency status. For more information, please visit the zoo's website.
Night Safari was fun, exciting, and impressive. Both the funny MC (who sounded like Kalamae) and the close encounter with the animals were amazing. I was very impressed. 7:30 p.m. Salad Concept restaurant, Nimmanha, Soi 13.

Delicious : Recommend

(Great concept, worth trying at least once. They have build-your-own salads or pre-made sets. Large bowls, fresh vegetables, delicious taste, good value. 9:30 PM, had a late-night porridge afterwards (Sri Pingk Porridge).)

(**Pork rib and shiitake mushroom congee 40.- This is a roadside congee stall. It's pretty good. I only ate vegetables because I was hungry all day (the schedule was too packed 555)
Note: Cancel the program
- Pine Forest Bo Kaew / Ob Luang Park (located in a different direction from the other programs, you have to go back a long way, almost 140 km round trip. I gave up)

- Royal Park Rajapruek (Didn't have time to visit, postponed to another day. In the end, I didn't go because I had already been there. I was exhausted from sightseeing.)

- Tha Pae Walking Street (The driver is sleepy, can't walk)

Monday, January 20, 2024
09.00 AM Breakfast at the resort & Check out
10:00 AM: Head up to Khun Chang Kian (same route as Doi Suthep, single lane, difficult to drive, need to open windows and honk the horn throughout the winding road, difficult for oncoming vehicles)
Luckily, I came on a weekday, so there weren't many cars. )

11:00 AM: Khun Chang Khian Highland Agricultural Research Station/Ban Mong Khun Chang Khian/Coffee break on the mountain (very delicious)

Excited Way up and down

At first, I thought I would put pictures in this blog, but I ended up with a lot of pictures, so I'm afraid the post will be too long. So I've opened a link for you to see them instead.
http://pantip.com/topic/31664055
(**I'm so glad I'm here. I've accomplished my first main mission. I've seen so many queen trees, I'm exhausted. But the group photo isn't very good. I'll take some individual shots.
It's okay, haha. There are quite a few tourists. Let's see how it goes on the way down. There are a lot of mountain bikers up there enjoying nature, especially foreigners.
It's an interesting route. 2:00 PM Visit Phra That Doi Suthep (lift up the mountain 20.-/person)

(The adorable dogs on the mountain are so cute, I don't know whether to feel sorry for them or laugh at them. The colors on the mountain are amazing.) 3:00 PM Roasted chicken at Nimmanhaemin, Nimmanhaemin Soi 17.

Delicious : Recommend

- Butterfly pea flower and lime juice 25.- / Kiwi soda 35.-

- Stir-fried noodles with roasted chicken and egg in a hot pan 70.-

-Fried pork dumplings 80.-

- Pork bun 65.-

(**Parking is hard to find, crowded because it's next to I-berry, but it's worth it. The roasted chicken is delicious, the snacks are also delicious. I'm impressed. I recommend you to come and eat here.)i-berry

(Canceled because I saw a lot of people and was full of fried chicken. I'll keep it for Friday instead.) 4:30 p.m. Check in San Pareni

Accommodation reviews are available at the link below.
http://pantip.com/topic/31657321 6:30 p.m. Take a walk and take pictures at The Harbor Mall

(**Very few people, if you are a photographer, you will love it. No people at all, but the vendors may not be happy. I like the decoration, it's beautiful. There is a beer garden by the pool.
Enjoying a cold beer with good music in the cool weather, but there are too few people. Feeling lonely. 7:00 PM, having Rad Na at Namchai, Old Airport Road.

(**Crispy noodles with pork gravy 35.- It's a roadside stall, so it's expensive. So I eat cheap and expensive alternately. ^^)**
Haha, I've been cycling all day and I'm exhausted. I'm sorry for the delay, but I'll try my best to catch up. Thank you for your patience. I'm currently taking photos of the different places I've cycled to. Once I have enough, I might compile them into a post for you all to see. ^^

Tuesday, January 21, 2014
10:00 AM Breakfast at the resort & Check out / Travel to Pai
11:30 AM, stop by Le vintage coffee shop in Pa Pae Subdistrict, Mae Taeng District (halfway through Pai).

(It's a coffee shop and souvenir shop. The shop is decorated in a cute, white, luxurious, and clean style. The owner is also lovely. There weren't many people, so we talked for a long time.) 2:00 PM. Stopped to take pictures at the historic bridge.

The area around the historic bridge

(**Also take pictures of the shops around the bridge. There used to be none, but now there are souvenir shops everywhere, except for the Bura Lumpai Resort. This resort has been around for a long time.)
After taking some photos, a group of Chinese tourists arrived. I decided to leave. ) 15.00 Check in at The Oia Resort & Spa.

Check out the accommodation reviews at the link below.
http://pantip.com/topic/316181686:00 p.m. Pad Thai in front of the motorcycle taxi stand

(We cycled from the resort to the walking street, parked our bikes at the designated area and locked them with a U-lock. We strolled around the walking street, feeling indecisive about what to eat. We came across a restaurant featured in a book, which wasn't too expensive, so we decided to give it a try. The food turned out to be just average, and the owner had a grumpy expression, living up to the concept "Good mood is rare, Pad Thai is delicious and available every day" 555. Mang Noi ordered Pad Thai with fresh shrimp (50 THB), stir-fried minced chicken with basil (40 THB), and Khao Soi with chicken (50 THB).)
(**Note: I couldn't find the Pad Thai restaurant I ate at 5 years ago. I think they might have moved to another location. It looked like this and was delicious.)

7:00 PM. Stroll through the walking street.

(**Even though I didn't stop by the shops I had planned on, because at that moment I just wanted to wander around and check out any shops that caught my eye, I ended up with my hands full of snacks.
Introducing a water bottle shop in Pai - the sellers are hilarious! They have a concept that foreigners really enjoy. Each bottle costs 30 baht. Next time, bring your bottle back to refill for 10 baht, for life!

Bacon wrapped golden needle mushroom - The seller looks fierce, but the taste is amazing. Delicious dipping sauce. 10 baht per skewer, 10 skewers for 100 baht.

Banana and cheese roti 35.- Loved it from the last time, had to come back for more.

Chicken puff 50.- It's delicious.

(**The temperature in Pai around 6:00 PM onwards is 10 degrees Celsius. It's so cold!)
The atmosphere of the walking street in Pai, I will postpone it to the last day when I stay in Pai again. The review will not be boring. Let's continue.
Wednesday, January 22, 2024
6:00 AM. Yunlai Viewpoint / Santichon Village

(I think I can't wake up, it's too cold. The fog is all over the resort in front of me, it's more beautiful than anything. At that point, I'd rather lie down and look at the fog in front of my room. 555)
Note: Instead, I'm attaching a group photo of Santichon Village from 5 years ago.

09.00 AM Breakfast at the resort
10.30 a.m. Check out and depart for Pang Ung

(**The beautiful natural views along the way help alleviate nausea, fatigue, and curves throughout the journey.) 11:00 AM. Stop at the Pang Ma Pha viewpoint (passing by)

(**Encountered an elderly Hmong man blowing leaves, saying..."Please spare some change." So we did a good deed and gave him some money.)
13.00 hrs. Visit Muang Mae Hong Son district to pay respect to Phra That Doi Kong Mu for good luck.

(**The flower set for worship is quite unique. Make merit according to your faith and lift the whole thing with the wooden stand. It's beautiful and meticulous. Then go to worship Buddha according to your birthday channel.)
(Next to the temple, there is a charming cafe called "Before Sunset" with a wonderful atmosphere. You can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the sunset. However, I didn't stop for a drink, but only took some pictures to share because I had to hurry back to Pang Ung before it got dark.)

12.30 p.m. Receive the certificate of conquering 1,864 curves at the Mae Hong Son Chamber of Commerce office.

(**A friend suggested I pick it up. Since I was already there, it was close to Doi Kong Mu Temple. I handed over the driver's license, paid a fee of 40 baht, and took the announcement to sleep with it. Hehe. But on the way back, another 1,864 baht. Actually, they should have given me two copies, lol.)
(There is a statue of King Phraya Singhanat and a wide flower field nearby. I took a picture for you.)

12.40 p.m. Stop for lunch at Krua Je On Noodle Shop, opposite the Mae Hong Son Chamber of Commerce.

(**Average taste, good price, but only enough to keep you going for lunch) 2:00 PM Pha Suea Waterfall (On the way to Pang Ung, you can stop by)

(**The waterfall is nothing much, just a quick stop if you're passing by. No entrance fee. It's a short walk from the parking lot to hear the sound of the waterfall, which is nice. And the restrooms are very clean.) 4:00 PM. Headed to Pang Ung, stopped at Fresh coffee shop

As you approach the turn, there will be a sign indicating the entrance to the Pang Ung Reservoir, a royal initiative project of Pang Tong 2.

(**Craving coffee so bad I was shaking, found a coffee shop at the entrance to the village on the way to Pang Oung. Hmm! Seeing the pictures… this is a famous shop, huh? Celebrities come here all the time. The owner seems nice.
So I had a glass of it.)

4:20 PM Pang Ung

End: Cool

(**We have arrived and completed our second main mission. Pang Ung is as beautiful as its reputation suggests. I think it's a place that many people would love to visit at least once in their lifetime. Pang Ung has changed a lot compared to the pictures I've seen from other people. They've started planting more colorful flowers, so it's not just rows of tall green pine trees anymore. They've also started planting Wild Himalayan Cherry trees, so we can already see some flowers. I think the northern region will soon be full of these trees, so we'll see Thailand covered in pink.)
(I didn't get to walk around much because it was so big and there weren't many people, so I just chilled in one area. At first I thought I would have to take a boat to see the swans, but I didn't have to. The black and white swans swam up to people themselves, which was adorable. I had originally planned to come back to Pang Ung in the early morning to catch the fog, which would have meant leaving my accommodation at 5am to be there by 6am. But the road up is quite narrow and steep, so I decided to just stay and enjoy the fresh air for the rest of the evening.) 17.30 Check in at Liwaen Rak Thai Resort.

Check out the accommodation reviews at the link below.

Thursday, January 23, 2014
6:00 AM, another trip to Pang Ung

(**Canceled due to extremely cold weather, 7 degrees Celsius. It was so cold that the bed and blanket were wet, and I couldn't sleep at all. I also had to wake up at 5 am, and the road was dark and difficult to drive.)
The fog outside my resort room is so beautiful, I'm just going to stay here. (Haha)
09.00 a.m. Breakfast at the resort
(Sipping various teas in a super cool restaurant atmosphere, chilling + enjoying + working to the max)
11:00 AM: Buy tea souvenirs & Check out / Go down to Pai 11:30 AM: Stop by Tham Pla - on the way (entrance fee 20 THB/person)

(**Walked to see the fish about 500 meters. The fish here are huge! Unlike in Chanthaburi, where they are small and crowded. Fish food in Chanthaburi is very expensive and only consists of long beans. But at this fish cave, there is a shrine to the Tiger God where you can pay respects and feed the fish. The fish food here is amazing! For 20 baht, you get vegetables, pellets, melon, various fruits, and even insects. No wonder the fish are so fat and happy! The water is clear, and they have plenty of space to swim.)

At the fish cave, you will find this uncle at the shrine of the hermit. He is mute and tries to tell you something, pointing at the stone near the hermit. We don't understand, we ask if he wants us to look at the number.
We misunderstood each other, haha. Then he pointed to the black sign, which is the sign that the Queen had visited here. We said yes, yes. In the end, he made a gesture to take a picture for us. As soon as we raised the camera, he immediately raised two fingers. It was very professional. Then he handed us fish food and said, "20 baht." Okay, let's make merit. When he showed us the picture on the camera, he gave a thumbs up and couldn't stop smiling. So, did you want the picture, uncle?

12.00 p.m. Stop by The Rock Coffee shop in front of The Rock Resort, Pang Ma Pha (on the way).

(**A cute coffee shop with multiple zones, well-organized, part of a resort that is another great place to stay. The drinks are delicious.) 13.30 p.m. Som Tum in front of the district office

(**The food is cheap, but the taste is not that good. It's a bit bland and not spicy, which is a bit different from my personal concept of som tam.) 2:30 PM Check in Romance Another story in Pai

09:30 AM: Breakfast at the resort. Check out and depart for Chiang Mai.
12.00 p.m. Art in Paradise

(**Canceled because I met a group of student tourists. There were too many people. I'm an old lady, I can't act anymore. I'm embarrassed by the kids. Hehe.)
2:00 PM. Butterfly Pea Flower Noodles, Nimmanhaemin Road Soi 7

Delicious : Recommend

-Butterfly Pea Noodle with Soft Pork 40.- / -Mixed Noodle 50.- / -Butterfly Pea Lemon Juice 25.- / -Butterfly Pea Pandan Juice 25.-
(Great idea! The amount is so much that I was surprised. It's delicious and cheap too. I recommend you try it!)
2:30 PM. Stop by I-berry shop

(**If you don't stop by, it's like you haven't been to Chiang Mai. There are a lot of people waiting in line. I waited for a while and then gave up. In the end, I didn't get to eat. I just took some pictures of the atmosphere instead.
Souvenir shop (many cute items but prices are a bit high) 3:20 PM Check in Nimmanmai?

Walking past the Godzilla intersection, I came across another cute coffee shop, Double Click, which is nicely decorated.

Librarista Coffee Shop

Iced cappuccino 85.-/Banoffee 85.- Free Wi-Fi code for 1 order.
(The accommodation was not ready even though we checked in late. We walked out to find a coffee shop and pinned this one. It didn't disappoint. It's a coffee shop with a fairly large space. The亮点is…)
It has a private library where you can read books and enjoy snacks and drinks. It's so cool. The cakes and drinks are also delicious.)
Saturday, January 25, 2014
11.00 a.m. Breakfast at the resort Check out / Travel back to Bangkok.
12:00 PM: Stop by Warorot Market in Chiang Mai and Kad Tung Gaew in Lamphun for souvenirs.

(**At Kad Tung Gaewian, there are a variety of souvenirs to buy. There are more souvenirs than at Waroros Market. Ceramic souvenirs are cheap and beautiful. I do not recommend Waroros Market because parking costs 20 baht per hour. On the way out, there is a lot of traffic in the market and on the parking building. There are few items, it is difficult to walk, and it is frustrating and time-consuming.)
13.00 p.m. Visit Hug You Sheep Farm

Recommend

(**On the way back to Bangkok, the sheep's milk coffee was delicious. It is a large tourist attraction worth visiting. There are many photo spots and unique souvenirs. But the day I went, "Lampang was very hot.")
3:00 PM Visit Samai Niyom Cafe, Kamphaeng Phet Province

(**Cancelled: Farmers' mob blocked the road)**
Sunday, January 26, 2014
(Finished the trip, exhausted, ready to face the consequences of all my actions, instant noodles, bran, I'll dig it out and eat it ^^)
Summary of the total budget
-Accommodation fee 12,000.-
-Gas fee 3,200.-
- Food/beverage/cake 3,500.-
- Miscellaneous expenses/Entrance fees to various places 1,300.-
