Hello there. In late December 2015, I had the opportunity to visit the north of Thailand. The weather wasn't as cold as it is now, but it was still pleasantly cool. I had the chance to visit "Samoeng" in Chiang Mai province. My main goal for this trip was to visit a strawberry farm. I've been to Chiang Mai many times before, but I've never been to Samoeng district.

This time, I had the chance to visit, so I did some research online. I felt that there were so many strawberry farms in Samoeng. I didn't know which farm to visit. I wanted a place with accommodation, a place to relax and chill, a restaurant, and a place to enjoy the atmosphere without feeling rushed. Most importantly, I wanted a place that wasn't too crowded. So I came to Naph-Phu Pha Farm. It seemed to meet my needs at the moment.

This review... is a recount of my visit to this farm. If you're ready, let's go on a trip to "Saming" together! "Saming" is considered the city of strawberries. No matter where you look, you'll see strawberry farms all over the place, lining both sides of the road. There are also many fresh strawberry souvenirs that are sure to catch your eye. This is the reason why I wanted to come here at least once.

For friends who like to travel on a budget, come say hello and follow us.

During this winter season, it's the time when strawberries are ready to be harvested. Therefore, it's the perfect time to visit because the cold atmosphere allows you to experience the feeling of picking strawberries in the morning, breathing fresh air, and relaxing comfortably.

Upon arriving in Chiang Mai city, ...the first thing that came to mind for a convenient trip (for me) was that I needed to rent a motorbike. It would be convenient to get around, and the Mae Taeng district wouldn't be too far to ride to. I'll get there eventually!

However, due to safety concerns, after seeing the chaotic and sometimes congested traffic conditions in Chiang Mai city, I decided to take a songthaew to Mae Rim district first and then rent a motorbike there. I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city first. This way, I could cruise around and enjoy the sights along the way.

From Chang Phuak Gate, I wanted to go to Mae Rim district. I asked people around where the songthaew to Mae Rim was parked. But it turned out that the person I asked was a songthaew driver. He replied, "To Mae Rim? This one, sir. It's a car to Mae Taeng, but it passes through Mae Rim." Without hesitation, I jumped on because the car was about to leave. It was a Chiang Mai - Mae Taeng car, but it passed through Mae Rim district. I was going to get off at Mae Rim district and had already contacted a motorbike rental for my onward journey.

**Mae Rim District** is located about 17 kilometers north of the city center. It takes about half an hour to get there by songthaew, which costs 15 baht. For motorbike rentals, I used **MAE RIM MOTORBIKE FOR RENT**. They offer pick-up and drop-off services within the Mae Rim district. For this trip, I got a pink Scoopy-i that perfectly matched my face. **Haha!**

Okay, the shop only has this much car left, which is fine. The rental fee is 250 baht per day, and you need to fill up the gas yourself. Helmets are provided. When you return the car, you can call to arrange a return location anywhere in Mae Rim. It's quite convenient, and it was a good decision not to rent from Chiang Mai city itself. Besides the heavy traffic, it also shortens the riding distance to Samoeng.

**From Mae Rim District to Samoeng District**, take Route 1096, which is about 33 kilometers according to the map. The road may be a bit crowded at the beginning because it is the same road that leads to **"Mon Cham"**. Yes, those who pass this way can turn right and visit Mon Cham. After passing the junction to Mon Cham, the traffic will start to ease up significantly. You can cruise comfortably and you will start to encounter steeper roads, uphill climbs, and more and more curves. The atmosphere along the way is very good, refreshing, and the air is very good. There are mountains alternating with strawberry fields.

While riding, you might encounter some cold weather, so it's best to wear a thick jacket or bring gloves. In the mornings, the ride can get so cold that your hands will stiffen up! The middle section of this route, up to Samoeng, has some steep and winding roads, so be careful. Also, riding an automatic scooter like this can be a bit fuel-hungry, so don't forget to check your fuel level and fill up before you set off. Your destination is "Rai Nampha-Phu Pha", which takes about an hour to reach by scooter. If you're riding in, the entrance to the farm will be on your right-hand side. Turn into the lane and you'll see the farm shortly.

The atmosphere is great. The air is cool and refreshing. I'm just cruising along, no need to rush.

At the front, there is a human strawberry standing to welcome you.

Let's take a look inside. This is the lobby where you can inquire about information, check in to your accommodation, and order food and drinks.

It is a 2-story building. The lower floor will be a restaurant where you can eat and sip coffee. Tourists passing by can also stop by to eat at this restaurant.

You can also go up to the 2nd floor. Up here, the atmosphere is good and you can see the strawberry farm.

There are chairs for you to sit, relax and enjoy the view.

Looking out, you will see the surrounding atmosphere. The small huts below can also order food to eat there.

"Freshly blended strawberry" .. This is a must-try! You have to try it!

This corner is a great place to sit and sip coffee... it's pretty chill.

Photo spots are scattered throughout the area.

There are also ATV rentals available for driving around the farm.

Anyone who enjoys taking casual photos should visit this farm. There are apparently a ton of photo opportunities there, including hay wagons, old bicycles, and bonfires. There are a lot of great photo spots, haha!

I caught a glimpse of a table jutting out freely on the top floor. It looked like a private space with a beautiful view. Let's go up and check it out.

Walking up here.. It's quite chilling, you can see the strawberry farm clearly.

I'll take this table then. I don't think it will be available on days when there are a lot of people. Today, there are few people... It looks peaceful and quiet.

The view is beautiful. There is a mountain range in the background that stretches far into the distance.

We'll come pick strawberries at the farm in the morning.

The back area is where the accommodation is located. There are many types of accommodation available, including huts, wooden houses, and earthen houses, both small and large. We'll take a look at them later. I just saw a car parked there and thought it belonged to the owner of the farm. He used it for work, transporting straw and raising animals. But no, it's used as a backdrop for taking photos. Great! It fits the atmosphere perfectly!

Feeling like I'm on vacation at my own farm. Wow!

After you have a table to sit at, sit and enjoy the view and atmosphere to your satisfaction, then try ordering some food here. There are many dishes to choose from here. The prices are not expensive. Some menus may not be available depending on the ingredients available each day. Ordering food here means we have to order food at the lobby ourselves. Whatever you want, order it there and pay for it. The staff will ask where you are sitting, so tell them your table number. Then someone will come and serve the food at your table... And the menu you can't miss is "Strawberry Salad" with a sour, sweet, salty taste... It's delicious.

Try ordering another dish of "Strawberry Fried Rice". This menu is surprisingly compatible with rice. 55

On a cool day like this, sometimes just an omelet with hot rice is a good answer.

After a delicious meal, we will take you to see the accommodation. This farm has a **accommodation zone** at the back. There are many types of accommodation to choose from, with different prices, including huts, wooden houses, and concrete houses. But if you want a unique experience, you should try staying at the **"Earth House"**. The exterior of the Earth House, with its colors and textures, **brings you closer to nature**.

Stepping inside, it feels surprisingly spacious and not at all cramped as I had imagined.

There is a TV and a small fan, but you probably won't need them because the nights are very cold. However, one of the good things about earthen houses is that they are cool during the day and warm at night. No matter how cold it is outside at night, it will be warm inside, which is a big help.

Inside there is a small table and chairs ... for sitting and playing.

The atmosphere inside is warm and comfortable, making you never want to leave. As for the power outlets, you'll have to look carefully… they blend in with the earthen wall.

Let's take a look at the bathroom.

I saw this... It's like heaven! It even has a "water heater". The price for this earthen house is 1,000 baht per night. There are also larger houses available for families.

What you see in the distance is a part of the concrete house. This one has a more modern design and is a new room. It also looks clean and tidy. The atmosphere in front is a rice field... (but the rice plants don't seem to be growing yet). There is a rooftop where you can go up and enjoy the view from your own accommodation.

And here, there will be accommodation in the form of huts and wooden houses. (It seems there are no private bathrooms) If you like something simple, natural, and affordable, this is the place for you.

Good morning! It's time to pick strawberries!

But waking up early like this... well, I have to sit and sip coffee, enjoy the view, and let my body wake up for a while first, right?

The morning atmosphere is so refreshing.

I see the mist across the mountains in the distance.

I saw a small sea of fog.

The sun is rising, casting a golden glow and bringing warmth to the morning.

.. Good morning atmosphere ..

.. It's cold here, let's build a fire to keep warm and chat. ..

.. We'll go down and pick strawberries in a bit. ..

First of all.. I'd like to have breakfast first. I ordered the food, paid for it, and then came to find a table. For this meal, I'd like to sit upstairs again, but on the second floor of the lobby. The view of the strawberry farm is the same.

A simple breakfast, "rice porridge with pork", hot and delicious... perfect for the atmosphere.

It's time to pick strawberries!

You have to walk into the farm this way.

Here, there will be a strawberry picking fee of 300 baht/kilogram. There will be baskets and umbrellas to provide shade (which can also be used as props for photos). However, please do not pick and eat in the field. If you don't want to pick yourself, the farm also has pre-packed strawberries available for purchase.

Here we come... Ready to go...!!

Encountered a local resident sleeping on guard.. "May I come in, please?.."

Entering the field in the morning when the dew has settled, the ground may be a bit soggy, so please walk carefully.

Her eyes scanned for ripe, ready-to-pick strawberries.

Tourists who come here are busy picking them up diligently. Don't pick them all up yet, leave some for me to pick up 55

Go in and take a closer look. The ones nearby have probably been picked up already.

I'm starting to find some children who are ready to be picked up.

Let's go deeper, it seems like no one has been in here to collect anything. Let's go!

The strawberry farm here is quite spacious.

It's impossible to pick up everything in this field.

The red strawberries are hiding in various corners.

To pick strawberries... you have to come early in the morning like this. The weather is good, the sun is not too strong.

Walking around, looking up and down, getting up and sitting down, can be considered a form of exercise. ^^

This one is big enough Ready to harvest... !!!

I would love to try freshly picked strawberries from the farm.

Well, just pick them up. What are you waiting for? There are baskets and scissors available. Once you've picked enough, you can weigh them and pay for the strawberries you've picked. (As I mentioned before, if you don't want to pick them yourself, they also have pre-packaged ones available, so you don't have to tire yourself out. Hehe)

It is recommended to visit during the winter season if you want to pick strawberries. It is also advisable to come early in the morning on the first day of the weekend, as there will be enough strawberries to pick. (If you come after the other tourists have already been there, they might have already picked all the strawberries. 55)

**Even if** it's not strawberry season, you can still visit and relax here as usual... **Lastly**, this concludes my trip #sleepinginmudhousesandeatingstrawberries. This might be some small information for friends who are looking for a place to relax and change the atmosphere during the winter. Or, if you have a trip planned to the Mae Taeng district, you can stop by and enjoy the chill atmosphere.

Note: If any information is incorrect, I apologize. Thank you for visiting.. !!
