Nakhon Phanom... a city on the banks of the Mekong River, a river that flows from... I don't know where (my knowledge is a bit limited, I apologize). The Mekong River... I know it flows through many countries, and it also flows through this province... and this province... what interesting things are there to see and do? Not long ago, I, Ring, just went there and I must say... it's a great place to come and relax.

Nakhon Phanom is a city of culture, with a rich history and a variety of attractions, including numerous temples. If you're looking to make merit by visiting nine temples, you can do so here. The temples are said to be very sacred, and there are even temples dedicated to each day of the week. However, if you're looking for the most famous temple, you should visit Wat Phra That Nakhon Phanom. It's considered a must-see destination.

It was a great blessing that I was able to pay my respects at the temple. The Nakhorn Phanom stupa is located a bit further away, requiring a trip out of the city. Each stupa for each day of the week is also located far apart. However, for those who wish to pay respects at a stupa closer to the city, there is one (I can't remember the name) located right by the Mekong River. It's also next to the walking street. And along the Mekong River, there are many temples where we can make merit. That's the end of the merit-making story.

Let's continue... with the story of the walking street in Nakhon Phanom. There will be a walking street open only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, right by the Mekong River. It's a long stretch, perfect for an evening stroll.

Tips... If you are going to walk on this walking street, don't expect too much about the products and souvenirs. Don't expect this walking street to be like the one in Chiang Mai. But that doesn't mean it's not good. There are plenty of delicious food. Most of the things sold are things that the villagers sell.

However, it's not just about satisfying the desire to walk around. When I went there, I was curious to see what was there, even though the products weren't to my liking. But I must say that the shops and cafes (although not many) were cute and chic.

And along the Mekong River itself, there are accommodations with a riverside atmosphere...also available. If anyone goes, try walking around and looking for it. And in Nakhon Phanom, another famous thing is the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge. If anyone goes, I recommend taking a picture there. The view is good, beautiful and magnificent.

Note: Nakhon Phanom is a peaceful and quiet city, perfect for relaxation and enjoying the atmosphere of the river basin. You can also cross over to Laos, but you may need to cross at Mukdahan Province. They have a car service that crosses over to Laos, and you can continue on to Luang Prabang and Vientiane.

Ah, I see. You're saying that when you went to Nakhon Phanom and looked across to the opposite bank, which is the Lao PDR, it made you feel peaceful, relaxed, and happy. This is because they still have mountains and nature to look at, whereas our side is mostly limestone mountains.
