Let me start by saying that I have never written a review of any of the places I have visited, even though I have been to many.

But this time I think it will be useful because before I went, it was not easy to find travel information, especially for solo travelers.

Location: Mon Tu Lay - Tha Song Yang Subdistrict, Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province

Duration - 2 days 1 night

Travel

Outbound

21.20 Board a Bangkok-Mae Sot tour bus at Mo Chit Bus Terminal (private 31-seat bus of the Transport Co., Ltd.)

4.50 The car arrives at Mae Sot Bus Station (the time may vary slightly)

Then take a shared taxi "Mae Sot-Mae Sariang", I repeat, Mae Sot-Mae Sariang

Then tell the driver to drop you off at the Tha Sao Yang Subdistrict Administrative Organization (or Ban Mae Tawo).

Which leaves from Mae Sot Transport. The car is parked in lane 12.

5.50 The two-row car leaves the Mae Sot Transportation Center

9.50 to Tha Song Yang Subdistrict Administrative Organization

Contact the officials at Tha Song Yang Subdistrict Administrative Organization to climb Mon Thu Le (it is recommended to call and contact them in advance).

Have breakfast and prepare a packed lunch for the afternoon. There is a local restaurant nearby called "Phai Yung" (it's the only one, affordable and delicious).

The car will take you to the end of the village to arrange your luggage with the porters.

I started walking uphill at 11:15, carrying about 12 kilograms of my own belongings.

Approximately 7 km in distance, but the incline is very steep and the path is very hot.

It took me 3 and a half hours to walk (which is very fast). It might take 4-5 hours for most people.

Please allow extra time.

On the way back

I started walking down at 9:56 am and arrived at 11:55 am. It took me 2 hours (which is still considered very fast).

When the officer's car picks you up at the end of the village, please tell the officer to inform the songthaew.

The last bus from Mae Sariang District to Ban Mae Tawa will arrive at approximately 3:00 PM.

Allow time for travel with

1.30 pm, take a shared taxi from Mae Sariang to Mae Sot to return to Mae Sot.

5.00 to Mae Sot Transportation

9.15 AM, board a 31-seat bus from the Northern Bus Terminal back to Bangkok.

4.30 to Bangkok

Expenses

1. Round-trip bus fare from Bangkok to Mae Sot 594 x 2 = 1,188

2. Songthaew fare from Mae Sot to Mae Sariang 140 x 2 = 280

3. Transportation cost from Tha Sao Yang Subdistrict Administrative Organization to the starting point

Normally, it costs 300 baht per trip, but on the way up, I shared the cost with two other tourists.

And on the way back, I came back alone. They charged me a total of 400 in fees.

4. Porter fee per day 300 baht 300 x 2 = 600

Total 2,468

Note: Food expenses are up to you. I don't include them.

P2. If there are many people, it should be cheaper.

This is the most useful part.

The following are other images and reviews.

The journey begins at Ban Mae Tawo.

The mountain you see is the destination of this hike.

This is where we will start our hike, behind the village. It's very sunny.

View along the way.

Let me tell you, the trail is a dry, hot forest. There's not much wind at all.

This rest stop is a small stream. It is a place to stop for lunch and refill water.

The water in the stream is drinkable. It's very refreshing.

The bag you see is the one I carried up.

The old man carrying goods on his shoulder smokes a cigarette to recharge.

The final stretch before reaching the summit is very steep. We had to climb and cling to ropes.

The bathroom here is quite convenient.

However, I didn't go in to see what the condition was like, but I think it should be okay.

Tent area, I'm the first one here. No one has arrived yet.

The back will be a stream. At the tent site, it will be water for use. But if you want to drink water, you will have to walk up a little bit.

There is a spring.

The sunset viewpoint is located on the top of the mountain. You need to walk up another 500 meters.

It's a great view from up here to watch the sunset.

Unfortunately, the sky was overcast with low-hanging clouds, so we couldn't see much.

A newbie trying to take pictures of stars. I read in a review that said to set the ISO really high.

The result is noise. I think I need to reduce the ISO.

It's not a very good spot to watch the sunrise, as the sun rises behind the mountain. You can only see the light, and then again when it's already high in the sky.

And finally, the sea of fog.

....That's all...

I recommend preparing your body well. It's brutal here, let me tell you.
