Going to "Krabi" again!
This is one of the many times I have visited "Krabi", a southern province that I visit very often. Every time I go to Krabi, I usually go out to sea and visit various islands. This time, I'm going to try something different. Where should I go? Come along with me!
11:45 a.m. Don Mueang Airport
Let me tell you... The factor that made me travel, and it's a very important factor, is... getting cheap flight tickets. It saves a lot of money on each trip and makes it easier to decide to travel. It helps you save money, budget, and travel time. Today, I only have 1 day (a few hours) to visit Krabi on this trip. ...So let's go! I got a promo ticket including round-trip airfare for only 160 baht!
For friends who like to travel on a budget, come say hello and follow us.

1:15 PM Krabi Airport
Personally, I love the view when traveling to the southern part of Thailand. The scenery is beautiful, with the vast sea stretching as far as the eye can see, and the numerous small islands scattered across the ocean. As I sit back and enjoy the view, I soon reach my destination, welcomed by the breathtaking view of the Krabi estuary below.
Krabi Airport has been renovated and looks much more modern than before. Getting into town is easy as there is a Shuttle Bus service. You can buy tickets at the counter in the airport for 90 baht to Krabi Town or 150 baht to Ao Nang. However, there is a more economical way to get into town, and I use it all the time. It's the local songthaew. Just walk out of the airport and go to the main road. Cross the road to the opposite side and you will see a small pavilion. You can wait for the songthaew here. When it passes, just wave it down and hop on. It only costs 20 baht!
1:45 PM Black Crab Monument - Khao Khanap Nam
As I mentioned before, I have visited Krabi many times, so I know where everything is and I don't get lost like I did when I first came here. For first-time visitors, if you want to go to the city center, "Black Crab Monument" is a good answer. You can take a shuttle bus or a songthaew to get here first, and this area is also considered one of the important tourist attractions in Krabi.
Behind the "Black Crab Monument", you can also see "Khao Khanap Nam" as a backdrop. After getting off the car, I contacted "Nai Hua Motorcycle Rental Shop" to rent a motorcycle to use as a vehicle for today's trip. I got the number from the internet. However... I didn't remember where the shop was located. I only knew that it was in Krabi town, so it wouldn't be difficult to find. So I called the shop to ask, and the owner kindly rode a motorcycle out to pick me up at the "Black Crab Monument" and took me back to the shop.
The map of the shop "Mr. Head Car Rental" can be reached on foot from the Black Crab Monument
It took less than 2 minutes to reach "Mr. Head Car Rental Shop", which is actually within walking distance. I rented a car for 250 baht per day (including 50 baht for petrol). Helmets and a tourist map were provided. The shop also recommended various tourist attractions in Krabi. Personally, I'm tired of the sea and don't feel like taking a boat to the islands anymore. I just want to rent a motorbike and explore the mainland.
"Khao Ngon Nak" is a new tourist attraction in Krabi that has been gaining popularity for some time now. It seems like it was going to be our main destination, but we had to keep in mind that we might not be able to make it to the top due to limited time. The hike up and down takes a considerable amount of time, and we needed to make sure we were back down before nightfall so we could catch our flight back in the early evening. For this reason, we might have to put this plan on hold for now. But it's not a big deal. This trip is all about taking it easy and having fun. We can always just ride around on motorbikes and explore Krabi at our own pace.
Leaving Krabi town, I rode along Road 4034 towards Nong Thale, with a deep hope in my heart that "I might be able to reach Khao Hong Nak in time." The distance from the city to Khao Hong Nak is about 30 kilometers. After passing about half way, I passed Ban Nong Thale, and this is another place I wanted to visit and will come back to on the way back in the evening, which is the time when "Nong Thale" has a good atmosphere.
3:00 PM Klong Muang Beach
Not long after passing Ban Nong Thale, turn left onto the Klong Muang Beach road. Once you pass through Klong Muang Beach, you will reach the point where you can climb Khao Hong Nak. However, as I arrived here, I slowly began to accept that I would probably not be able to climb it.
The route from Krabi Town to Klong Muang Beach is approximately 25 kilometers and takes about half an hour, passing through Ban Nong Thale.
I rode past the Khlong Muang Beach road, so I decided to stop and relax on the beach here instead. The beach here is quite peaceful, just like the others. I took a break from the heat by finding a cold drink to sip on while sitting on the beach and enjoying the atmosphere.
"Klong Muang Beach" is another beach that I personally feel is quite peaceful and quiet.
The beach doesn't have the most beautiful sand, and the water isn't as clear as other places. However, it makes up for it with a peaceful atmosphere.
"หัวโทง" boats are commonly found in the waters of Krabi and the Andaman Sea.
In this atmosphere that makes you want to lie down and be lazy, listen to the sound of the waves, the wind blowing on your face, and stare blankly at the sea as far as the eye can see. In the afternoon like this, the wind is cool and comfortable. I want to rest my eyes and take a nap. It would be nice. Now I plan to wait for the sun to lose its heat, wait for the sun to set and the wind to fall, and then I will go for a walk at "Nong Talay" in the late afternoon.
4:30 PM. Napparat Thara Beach
It's about time to leave Klong Muang Beach and head to Nong Talay. After riding out of Klong Muang Beach for a while, I felt that the sun was still quite strong. I should find a place to hang out and let the sun cool down a bit before heading to Nong Talay. Because to get the best atmosphere, it has to be in the late afternoon. So I stopped by Napparat Thara Beach, which is not far away.
Napparat Thara Beach This beach is also popular with tourists. Especially in the late afternoon, the beach is full of people relaxing, playing, and waiting to watch the sunset. The atmosphere is great.
5:30 p.m. Nong Talay
The motorcyclist turned around and headed back the way he came, on Route 4034 towards the city. He arrived at Ban Nong Talay, which was just the right time, but because he had only a little information, he couldn't find a way to get to the "Bueng" (Nong Talay). He tried to find a way in, and he knew roughly that it was behind the Ban Nong Talay School. The school had just finished for the day, but there were still some students who hadn't gone home yet, so he went in to ask for directions. "How can I get in?" he asked. But what he got back was more than just an answer. It was... "Follow me, I'll take you there."
**Nong Thale** is located about 13-14 kilometers from Krabi town center.
Well, that's it... The students of this school are so cute. They all rode their motorbikes in a group, leading the way to the pond inside. They went straight to the back of the school, which wasn't far away.
The familiar picture that I saw on the Internet is now in front of me. This is "Nong Thale", a new tourist attraction in Krabi that has recently become known.
The general condition of "Nong Talay" is a large freshwater swamp with a backdrop of limestone mountains, making it a beautiful place to take pictures. The best time to visit is in the morning and in the evening. However, it is said that... the most beautiful time is in the early morning when there is fog, the surface of the water is filled with thin mist, and you can watch the sunrise. The atmosphere is amazing.
But for today.. I came to see the atmosphere in the evening, and it gave me a different feeling. I walked along the edge of the swamp for a while and started to smell the rain. Yes, that's right..! The rain is coming over there. Looking far out at the limestone mountains that are the backdrop of this swamp, they are starting to be obscured by the rain that is falling down. And it seems that it is starting to creep towards us gradually. One by one, the mountains are slowly disappearing into the rain curtain.
The wind that blew in... brought raindrops to hit my face. The smell of the rain made me feel strangely refreshed. The atmosphere around me began to feel the humidity from the rain. The curtain of rain obscured the mountains one by one and crept closer and closer. Fortunately, there was a small hut in the area, a small pavilion for sitting by the pond, so I could go in and shelter from the rain. And in a few moments, the rain that I could see in the distance came in full force, crashing down violently.
However, it soon subsided quickly, leaving only a sprinkle of rain falling down to create another atmosphere by the pond.
The sky after the rain When the rain faded away, it was already late afternoon. The sun had set without us realizing it, leaving only the last moments of the day for us to capture, and the muddy ground that we had to fight our way through.
Tips :
- The morning atmosphere is beautiful. If you want to enjoy the scenery, go early in the morning.
- Be careful as the entrance is quite dark and watch out for venomous animals as the surrounding area is full of overgrown bushes.
- The area is close to the community and school, so be mindful of noise pollution.
7:20 p.m. Roti in front of the Vogue department store
Just 15 kilometers from Nong Talay to the city center, with the hunger that was building up and getting worse all the time I was on the motorbike seat, I stopped myself in front of the Vogue department store. If anyone has ever been here, you will know that when you come to this area, you have to come to the roti shop, which is popularly called Roti Na Vok because the shop is located near the front of the Vogue department store, near the Prehistoric Human Intersection.
This shop is very popular, always crowded. I had to stand and swallow my saliva, watching other customers for a while, then it was my turn. A customer had already checked out and paid, so I quickly ordered two items: crispy roti and banana roti. Both were delicious. The crispy roti had a crispy, delicious dough, topped with condensed milk and sprinkled with sugar, giving it a sweet and creamy taste. The banana roti also went well with the banana. In my opinion, the banana roti here is better than any I've ever had before...or maybe it's because I was hungry!! 55
8:00 PM Krabi Walking Street
After enjoying the roti, I returned the motorbike to the shop owner. It was already late in the evening, and the shared taxis that usually run to the airport would have stopped operating by then. The only option was to find a ride to the airport, and luckily, I didn't have to look far. I simply asked the motorbike rental shop to arrange a car to take me there. However, since I still had some time to spare, I decided to take a walk around Krabi Walking Street and grab a bite to eat before heading back. The street was just a short walk away, and it was bustling with vendors selling all sorts of things. Most of them were food stalls, and the food looked so delicious that I couldn't resist trying some. I started with grilled squid with eggs, which was the first thing that caught my eye.
The highlight is the Gai Golae menu, which is a truly southern Thai dish. Let's add a little more knowledge... This menu was originally eaten by Muslims in southern Thailand. Gai Golae in Pattani Malay is read as "Ayam Golek". The word Ayam means chicken, Golek means rolling. Ayam Golek therefore means rolling chicken, which probably refers to grilling, because it has to be turned over and over again. In conclusion... It's delicious, you have to try it!
To top off the deliciousness, there's crispy crepe with fluffy cream and a generous filling. Delicious... Heavenly!
There are many more delicious foods at Krabi Walking Street, but my stomach has a limited capacity, so I had to stop there for now. It was time to go to Krabi Airport to return to Bangkok. The shuttle picked me up in front of the walking street and took me straight to Krabi Airport quickly.
Another trip completed, "Motorcycle Tour of Krabi in 1 Day". It was a chill trip, just riding around and not expecting much, but it turned out to be quite fun. It was another day in my life that felt very worthwhile. See you again soon, Krabi!
