#Traveling to Doi Ang Khang :: Stop by to sleep amidst the strawberry fields at Ban Khop Dong

This past winter, I had the opportunity to visit "Doi Ang Khang", which is considered to be the peak season for Ang Khang. This is because it is the time when the Japanese cherry blossoms and Rhododendron arboreum flowers bloom in full bloom, 100%.

This trip was a family trip with 8-9 people to "Doi Ang Khang" and we stayed at "Baan Nicharee" in Ban Khop Dong. Before that, I really wanted to stay at the agricultural station because there were many of us and it seemed convenient. But as you know, the accommodation at the agricultural station is full very quickly and you have to book many months in advance. So I missed it. I tried to find other accommodations, but they seemed to be fully booked. And I wanted a house to stay in anyway. In the end, I came to "Ban Khop Dong".

This review is... a short review of Doi Ang Khang (+ accommodation) for those who are looking for a place to stay during the winter season. Let's take a look!

DAY 1

Traveling to Doi Ang Khang, I visited the Doi Ang Khang Agricultural Station first. I have some pictures to share, it was a bit crowded during the winter holidays. There were a lot of cars and people, and the weather during the day was quite hot. I recommend coming in the morning for a much better atmosphere.

On the way to Doi Ang Khang, the roadside is a "pink path" because it is lined with blooming pink cherry blossoms. However, it seems that the time is near for them to fall, as green leaves are starting to appear.

Before entering the agricultural station, you have to pay a fee of 50 baht per person. Not long after entering, you will see Japanese cherry blossoms and Rhododendron arboreum planted along the road, sending out bright pink colors.

Anyone who comes here must take a picture as a souvenir. Well, I had to take one too... But when taking pictures here, be careful of the cars passing by. You can see that some of the trees are starting to have green leaves mixed in. (17/01/59)

Let's take a look at Garden 80... The trees here still have some flowers in bloom. This spot is great because it has a corner with chairs for taking photos, and there are also many beautiful flowers to take pictures with.

Finally... we arrived at the plum orchard. It's beautiful here, but it's a bit crowded on weekends. If you're coming to take photos, you'll probably have to walk around to find a good angle, as the plum orchard is really full of people.

After visiting the agricultural station .. we will then head to our accommodation, called "Nichari", which I will share the atmosphere with you. As I mentioned earlier, I wanted an accommodation with individual houses, as we wanted to stay together in a large group for convenience. The houses in the agricultural station were all fully booked, so I searched the internet and came across this place. I called to inquire and managed to secure a large house for 3500 baht per night. This price is considered reasonable, as we are a large group and can sleep together in the same house as we intended. So I made a booking by transferring half of the deposit in advance. Then, on the day of check-in, I paid the remaining balance.

The **Baan Nicharee** guesthouse is located in **Baan Khop Dong**, about 3 kilometers past the Agricultural Station. It's a real village house that gives you a true local experience. **This is the house, and this is the view from the front!**

On the back side.. There are only a few houses here, less than ten. But today, they are all full.

**In front of the house** there is a balcony where you can stand and **enjoy the sunrise** without having to go anywhere. There is also a table for eating and socializing. **The view from the balcony** is of the **strawberry fields** of the villagers. It is now starting to feel like evening and the air is gradually cooling down.

Step inside the house, a 2-story building. As you walk in, you'll be greeted by the living room, which gives off a homey vibe. It's simple and doesn't have many amenities, but it offers a unique atmosphere and a different kind of relaxation.

In the living room downstairs, there is a TV, a hot water kettle, glasses, coffee, and Ovaltine for you. There is a staircase, try going up to see the bedroom on the second floor.

Walk up to the second floor, there are 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Let's take a look at the room on the left first.

This room... is the largest dormitory room, which can accommodate many people. It is suitable for large families or groups of friends. You can open the window at the head of the bed to enjoy the view outside!

Let's take a look at another bedroom. This room has a bed that can sleep 4 more people.

Try opening the bedroom window. The cool air rushes in. The air up here is really good. .. Because it's high up, the air is fresh and good .. ครับ

Looking out, in front of me is a strawberry field and mountain ranges. The trees on the mountain will also see the Queen's flower blooming, interspersed with pink, like a splash of color on the mountain.

However, there is only one bathroom. Fortunately, there is a hot water heater (gas system) available. During the cold season, it's comfortable to take a warm shower. With only one bathroom for a large group, you'll need to schedule your bathroom time carefully.

DAY 2

Waking up to a "new morning", the night air was very cold. We even had to close the windows to sleep. And this morning, it's still very cold. I tried opening the bedroom window... to see the morning atmosphere outside.

The front faces east, so you can watch the sunrise from home.

Sitting on the balcony waiting for the sunrise.

Waking up early to take a walk and wait for the sunrise in the very cold weather..

It wasn't long before the sun rose to show off its beauty, signaling a new day.

You can sit and watch from the front of the house, no need to go far. Because it's so cold in the morning, it makes me feel lazy.

Taking a morning stroll around the house, enjoying the atmosphere. Looking back, you'll see the house behind ours (it looks newly built). Next door, it seems like there's a tiger orchid in bloom.

As I mentioned earlier, the front of the house is right next to a strawberry farm.

Good morning, the air is so fresh!

Let's try going down to walk around the villagers' strawberry farm. However, don't forget! Ask the owner of the farm for permission first. 555 In the morning, they will be out picking strawberries. Try asking them if you can take pictures and walk around inside. (Once you're inside, don't pick or pluck their strawberries. If you want to eat them, they have them packed for sale. ^^)

In the morning, you will see villagers picking strawberries.

I got to join them in the field and even got to taste the strawberries fresh off the vine.

The soft morning sunlight .. warmed the body.

With a hot cup of coffee to sip on, to ward off the cold ..

"Sipping coffee" enjoying the morning atmosphere

It's time to go. We checked out in the late morning and headed back. .. Finally, I hope this short review will be helpful for those who are planning to visit Doi Ang Khang. Have a fun and safe trip!
