I went to Bali from May 16th to 19th. I was invited by Club Med to try out their resort, and it was my first time at Club Med.
Club Med is an all-inclusive luxury resort, meaning that the price you pay includes accommodation, all meals throughout the day, all drinks, and activities from morning until late at night. Club Med has a total of 80 resorts worldwide, located in major cities and also in Phuket, Thailand.
Another unique feature of Club Med that sets it apart from other resorts is the presence of G.O.s, or Gentle Organizers. These are talented staff members from various countries and backgrounds, all of whom are dedicated to providing guests with exceptional service. They act as cultural ambassadors, connecting with guests and offering guidance, while also creating a joyful atmosphere for visitors. This unique and special aspect of Club Med is something you won't find anywhere else.
Let's see what this place is like. For us, we eat and drink all day and party every night.
Thank you.
Okay, here's the program we'll be following, sponsored by Malaysia Airlines and Club Med.
Travel schedule
Let's learn a little before traveling.
A few Balinese words a day, please. Have fun traveling.
Another thing to prepare for connecting to the social world is pocket wifi, which this owner also has for Indonesia.
So I had it delivered straight to my house because the counter at Suvarnabhumi Airport doesn't open until 6am, and I arrived before it opened.
At night, put it in the envelope they provided and send it to the post office.
It's time to check in.
Right on time.
Inside the plane, it's a 3-seat configuration.
If you want a wider seat by the emergency exit, you can request it at check-in for free.
I just finished watching a movie when I arrived.
The food on the plane was delicious.
I've arrived in Malaysia and am waiting for my connecting flight to Bali.
While waiting for our connecting flight, the Malaysia Airlines staff took us to try out the lounge, which is not far from the boarding gate.
The interior is luxurious and the food is delicious.
When it was time, we boarded the plane to Bali.
The same model as before.
This model.
The food looks delicious and tastes good. We eat it all the time.
I'm here.
Bali Airport. It looks good, clean and new.
Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, Denpasar, the capital city of Bali.
The car that picked us up. This trip has 16 people. There is a tour guide to take us around.
After leaving the airport, we traveled to the southernmost point of the island to visit Uluwatu Temple.
Uluwatu Temple, perched on a towering cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean, is a major sea temple revered by almost all Balinese people. On both sides of the temple, there are paths along the cliff edge where you can admire the beauty of the high cliffs and see the waves crashing against the shore, creating a sparkling white foam against the azure sea. Come and watch the sunset over the sea, which is considered one of the most beautiful sunset spots.
The Kecak Dance, also known as the Kecak Fire Dance, is a performance that was adapted from a traditional Balinese dance. Wayan Limbak, in collaboration with German painter Walter Spies, developed and refined this dance in 1930. The dance incorporates fire and tells the story of the Hindu epic Ramayana. Performances are held every night at 6:00 PM and last for one hour.
The sun here is beautiful, isn't it?
Then we had dinner at a seafood restaurant on Jimbaran Beach, this one.
Can I see the menu please?
Please calculate the price yourself. The exchange rate is 27 baht per ten thousand.
The atmosphere is great.
This is a set for each person, including rice.
It's quite delicious, but not quite to my taste (personal preference, it may not be the same for everyone, but many in the group said they liked it).
Then I went straight to the hotel.
Upon arrival, a group of enthusiastic GeoFi supporters warmly welcomed us, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
Come check in here.
The NGOs got to know each other and tied their wrists together.
This wristband will serve as a symbol for guests staying here. It will be used when accessing various services within the resort. This way, staff will know that guests can eat and drink for free, eliminating the need to constantly check room numbers, which can be inconvenient.
Then we received the key card to enter the room.
Let's take a look at the room we're staying in.
The room is spacious and comfortable.
Every night at 9:30 PM, there is a one-hour show that features a different cast of geos each night. We arrived just in time to catch the show.
Translation:
I watched the show for a while. I'm going to find something to eat. I didn't eat much earlier, so I'm still hungry.
So I came to satisfy my hunger at The Deck restaurant.
This restaurant serves à la carte dishes, but dinner reservations are required one day in advance due to limited seating.
Ours has already been reserved for you.
The food was so delicious that I'm still drooling just thinking about it.
The original text is in English, so no translation is needed.
I'm full. Let's go find something to sip and chill by the beach.
Then let's go to the bar. Because after the show, we'll come to this bar to party.
You can order any drink you want. The staff will make it for you for free. However, please do not order any premium menu items that require payment.
Here you go, beautiful Geo.
The Geo's are lined up to welcome the guests who have finished watching the show, who will all be arriving at the same time.
Let's see how much fun the party is.
The geos who know us will come and invite us to dance and have fun. It's a lot of fun and very friendly.
There were a lot of Thai people today, so they played Thai dance music, which was really fun.
Let's watch the clip and see how much fun it is.
Click here to watch the video.
The party at this bar ends at midnight, but don't worry, we can continue partying at the beach bar. That one goes on until 2am.
While the drink selection here may not be as extensive as at larger bars, the fun and excitement are just as vibrant.
The pleasure of each person.
Good morning the next day.
Today we have a full-day tour program, but I really don't want to go anywhere. We've already been to all the tourist spots in Bali, and there are activities all day long.
But you can keep it for tomorrow. Today, you can go with the tour first.
Let's take a look at the atmosphere in Club Med for a bit. I arrived late last night and didn't see anything.
Have breakfast before going on a tour here.
This is the main restaurant of the Agung Hotel, the Agung_Main Restaurant, which serves buffet meals for all 3 meals. It can accommodate approximately 650 people.
Let's find a seat first.
The food line here is huge because it serves all the guests who stay here. So the food is very diverse.
After a hearty breakfast, it's time to explore the wonders of Bali.
The first stop will be Pura Goa Gajah, also known as the Elephant Cave Temple.
Discovered by Dutch archaeologists in 1923, the cave is notable for its carved stone slabs at the entrance. The carvings are made by drilling into the front of the rock face, resembling the face of an elephant or, according to some, a giant with a wide-open mouth.
The Balinese believe that it is the mouth of an evil demon. Inside, there are three lingams representing the three gods: Shiva, Vishnu, and Vishnu, according to Hindu beliefs. In front of the mouth of the cave is a sacred pool with water gushing from the mouth of the crater.
Admission fee is 15,000 rupees per person.
Please wear a sarong before entering. There are free ones available to borrow.
Let's see.
Next, we will visit the sacred well of Theerthamalai (Tembhakasiri), built in the 13th century.
Used only in religious ceremonies of the royal family. This holy water well has its source from a volcano. The Balinese people still believe that whoever bathes in this holy water will be cured of diseases and will make their skin radiant.
The entrance fee is 15,000 rupees per person.
Don't forget to wear a sarong like before.
And then let's go in and take a look.
On the way back, walk out the other way. Shopaholics will probably love it because there are a lot of things to choose from and they are very cheap. But you have to bargain hard.
This set came to 75,000 rupees, which is less than 200 baht. Good thing.
For lunch, we had a meal at Kintamani Village.
Located near the crater of Mount Batur and Lake Batur, it is one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Bali.
This village has several buffet restaurants. Eating buffet with a beautiful volcano view is another kind of enjoyment.
The buffet price is not expensive, but the taste is ordinary. The beautiful view is also good.
Before returning to the hotel, we visited Pura Besakih, the most important and largest Hindu temple on the island of Bali.
Besakih Temple is considered the Mother Temple of all temples on the island of Bali. It is a temple of great beauty and has a unique architectural identity. There are 23 other temples surrounding it, cascading down the mountainside. The Pura Penataran Agung temple stands as the main temple in the center. Every day, worshippers come to perform ceremonies, and everyone must dress according to Balinese customs.
And then we came back to have dinner at the hotel. We had dinner at the same restaurant that had a buffet.
The NGOs were also waiting to welcome them at the front of the dining room.
Let's find a good place to sit.
Translation:
The food line is incredibly extravagant.
Let's continue with another food post. There are so many food stations here.
Don't be surprised if a handsome man or a beautiful woman asks to share your table.
This is a rule of Club Med. All GOs must have their meals with the guests, but they must ask the guests for permission first.
It was here that we made new friends from different ethnicities. When night fell, we had a lot of fun partying together.
Translation:
The girl on our trip also got a handsome guy to sit and eat with us, even until the late-night party.
Translation:
After I was full, I went back to my usual routine.
You can take a dip in the pool, grab a drink by the beach, or watch a show and party until 2am. Hehe.
We woke up a little late today because we didn't have to go anywhere. We just played around in the hotel all day.
I didn't make it to the breakfast buffet before 10 am, so I had breakfast at this restaurant instead.
This is a made-to-order restaurant that opens after 10 am and closes at noon.
Breakfast is available for guests who miss the main dining room.
+
Feel free to browse the menu and order whatever you like.
Order without hesitation, hehe.
The atmosphere is very chill.
We are full, let's go see the activity schedule.
Let me sit and relax with a drink to digest my food first, okay?
This is a tour of the other types of rooms that the hotel offers. I hope you enjoy it.
It's a deluxe room.
The room is similar to the one we slept in, but it has a balcony that opens to the outside.
This is a newly renovated deluxe room. They will probably gradually renovate all the rooms.
Translation:
This is the Marine Activity Center. If you don't know how to play, there are geos who will teach you according to the time. If you are interested, please register first. There is also scuba diving.
Everything is free.
Rules of etiquette
For those who don't like activities, just find a chill corner to have a drink.
The beach also has a bar that serves free drinks all the time.
This is it, a beachfront bar where you can sip cocktails all day long.
In the late morning, there is also an aerobics activity in the pool.
We were hungry at 2 pm, so we had to eat at this restaurant again.
Because the buffet at the main restaurant closes at 2 pm and this one opens after that one closes.
We prefer to eat here more. It looks luxurious and the atmosphere is good, isn't it?
Let's take a look at the menu.
The food is delicious as always.
I'm full. What should we do for fun?
Or should I do squats?
Or should I play football?
Tennis is fine too.
Frog kickers will love it here! We have all the equipment you need to borrow, except for gloves and shoes. Don't forget to bring your own!
There is also a place to practice sandblasting before playing a round.
It's a par 3 course with 6 holes, which is fun enough to make do. There are activities organized according to the time.
Translation:
The field is beautiful and usable.
Fitness and yoga.
If you like to do aerobics, please come on time.
This is the place for those who like to hang around. There are teachers who are also geos who teach.
There is a barbecue at 4:30 in front of the beach.
Some of the G-boys have transformed into babysitters to play with the children.
Would you like to try a grilled sausage with a big, strong Geo?
For those who prefer peace and quiet, there is another pool where children are not allowed to play, located inside the resort.
Here are the rates for non-guests who wish to use our services without staying here.
Translation:
You can choose to pay according to the time period. The benefits are like those of a hotel guest, with free food and drinks during the time you use the service.
On the day of our return, the energetic Geos (in white) came to see us off in front of the hotel.
We said our goodbyes with a heavy heart, because throughout our stay, we got to know each other very well, like friends, like we were at a camp together, having fun and partying all the time.
On the way back, of course, I flew with Malaysia Airlines.
On the way back, the food on the plane was delicious and they even gave us ice cream.
And that's it for the review. It's been a long one, I hope you didn't get bored.
Thank you for following.
