A Day Trip to Bang Pu Recreation Center to Observe Seagulls

This post will take you on a day trip to Bang Pu Recreation Center, located near Bangkok, where you can observe seagulls up close. The observation point is located on the Sukta Bridge, a concrete pier extending approximately 400 meters into the sea.

Black-headed Gulls at Bang Pu

During the months of November to mid-June, thousands of black-headed gulls migrate from China, Tibet, and Mongolia to Bang Pu Recreation Center. These gulls, belonging to the common subspecies, are a rare sight. Tourists can enjoy feeding these birds pieces of pork rind or fried chicken skin, either by tossing the food into the air or holding it in their hands for the gulls to snatch. This unique experience provides a source of amusement and creates lasting memories.

As a result, many vendors have started selling kratongs with pork rinds on the Saphan Chom Nok bridge, charging tourists ten baht each.
