04.00 AM. The seven girls met at Don Mueang Airport, ready to board their flight. They had already checked in from home. Goodbye! ^&^
Our flight is at 5:55 AM with Thai Lion Air, a promotional price of 595 baht per trip. As beautiful and intelligent women, we each booked a one-way ticket (the reason we didn't buy a return ticket is because it was too expensive, 2,500 baht per leg). We aim to arrive in Udon Thani around 7:00 AM so that we can buy tickets from Udon Thani to Vang Vieng in time for the 8:30 AM round at the Old Bus Terminal.
05.55 …… I fell asleep as soon as I arrived. zzz Zz
Arun's wings .....
06:55 AM. Arrived safely at Udon Thani Airport. The flight was very smooth. This is my first time flying with Nok Air, and I'm impressed.
7:10 AM: The seven gibbons waited for the eighth gibbon at the exit door. (She was already in Udon Thani, as she was the last passenger to say yes to the Laos trip.) This morning, she had her beautiful older sister pick us up at the bus station. So, we missed the review of taking a van from the airport to the old bus station… But if you come by yourself, don't worry about getting lost, because the van drivers are waiting right at the exit. You can ask them which van to take…
7:40 AM at the Old Bus Terminal
I rushed to the ticket counter, only to find a long queue. What on earth were all these people doing here so early? I joined the line, hoping to catch the 8:30 AM bus to Vang Vieng. But to my dismay, the staff announced that the bus was already full. The only option left was the 9:00 AM bus to Vientiane. This threw my entire plan into disarray. I felt like crying. I had no choice but to join the back of the queue for Vientiane. What a mess!
The first bus departs at 9:00 AM from Udon Thani to Vientiane. The ticket price is 80 baht. There are multiple buses throughout the day, so you don't need to worry about missing one. (If you catch the bus from Udon Thani to Vang Vieng, the fare is 320 baht. It's a tour bus that can seat around 31 passengers, if I remember correctly.)
The top left picture shows the interior of the Udon Thani-Vientiane tour bus. On the bus, the staff will ask if anyone is interested in renting a van to Vang Vieng. Since we were too lazy to find another car, we decided to rent one for 400 baht per person. (It's more expensive than the tour bus, but it's better because the van is smaller and only has about 10 seats, so it's 160 baht more expensive than the tour bus.)
After a while, we arrived at the Nong Khai checkpoint. The officer on the bus will hand out the cross-border documents. To make things easier and faster, bring a pen and a notebook so you can calculate the correct amount. 555
If you take the van provided by the organizer, they will take good care of you. They will guide you through every step, such as where to go, which line to queue in, and how to exchange money. They will even help you with the immigration process. However, you will need to fill out the departure from Thailand and arrival in Laos forms and purchase entrance tokens before submitting any documents to immigration. The tokens cost 5 Thai baht each and can be purchased with Thai currency.
After passing the Lao border around 12:30 p.m., the bus stopped for lunch at a rest stop similar to those found in Thailand. A bowl of pho cost 80 baht, but it wasn't very tasty. In our opinion, it's better to stick with instant noodles to avoid any potential stomach problems.
The driver told me that it rained heavily last night, causing the dam to overflow and flood the villagers' houses. Some houses were flooded almost to the roof.
Close your eyes, my love, in my arms…
I know you're just closing your eyes because you can't fall asleep. The road is so bumpy, it's shaking more than an M16! Bang, bang, bang, all the way. I took motion sickness pills before getting on the bus, but… "The pills tell me to sleep, but the car tells me to wake up… Oh, it's so torturous!"
On top of that, I have to keep my eyes on the left and right lanes. My feet are digging into the floor, and I feel like I want to help the driver hit the brakes. … Exhausted… This is just the beginning, oh my god.
4:20 PM. Wow, my jaw dropped. Where am I? Why is it so beautiful? Am I dreaming? Oh, the mountains! They are so beautiful. I'm here, aren't I? Vang Vieng... (From 4 am to 4 pm)
5:00 PM. As expected, the van dropped us off at the Melanie Hotel. (Initially, we thought it would take us directly to our accommodation, but it turned out that all vans stop at this hotel.)
Navigating to our accommodation is straightforward. Exiting Melanie, turn right and continue straight along the road. Pass the intersection, and you will encounter a temple. Facing the temple, the alleyway will be on your right. Turn into the alley beside the temple. If you are concerned about getting lost, inquire with the roti vendor located on the roadside in front of the temple. We did the same! After entering the alley, you will encounter the road depicted in the image. Continue straight until you reach the end of the alley, then turn right. You will observe a river on your left.
Hooray! Just a little further and we will reach our accommodation, "Cha Am Pa Laow The Villa".
Initially, I considered walking in, but my friends were too lazy to search. Additionally, we were afraid it might be full, so we didn't want to risk it. Therefore, we booked through Booking.com. It was a shared room for 8 people (4 rooms with 2 people per room), costing 300 baht per person, which was excellent. However, breakfast was not included. If desired, breakfast or other meals could be ordered. We stayed in the rooms upstairs, which were very comfortable. (Later, we found out that the house was almost 100 years old. Oops, I was a bit scared... but it wasn't scary at all. It was actually quite pleasant. ^&^;)
Before booking, I wasn't sure if I would be able to sleep because it seemed stuffy and cramped. However, the reviews on Agoda were excellent, so I decided to take a chance. Now, I can say that I'm glad I booked in advance and that I had the opportunity to stay here. It's truly a slow life experience. The accommodation is clean, the bathroom is spotless, and the water is refreshingly cool. The owner is friendly and helpful, providing recommendations for everything. I highly recommend this place. 5 stars!
We have a little more time before nightfall. We intend to visit a resort called "Remember Pa Lao Bang Ga Lo".
Unfortunately, it seems that the establishment has closed down, or perhaps is undergoing renovations. It was abandoned, and we saw that the door was open, so we peeked inside. Although the accommodation is now deserted, the atmosphere remains as pleasant as ever. As for getting to Champalaow Bungalow, it's not difficult, as it's located directly opposite Champalaow The Villa.
After taking a deep breath, it's time to explore Vang Vieng.
I don't know where I am. I was walking around and I found a forest. 5555
Walking through the fields and forests, we came across "The Riverview Bungalow". However, if you want to cross to the right side, we need to cross the bridge ahead. This bridge does not connect...
The sun was setting, and our stomachs were starting to rumble. But there were so many restaurants to choose from, we didn't know which one to pick. After dropping off our two older lady friends at their accommodation at Riverview Bungalow, we continued driving until we reached a three-way intersection. There, we stumbled upon this restaurant called Ohlala. I can't remember exactly where it was, but it was near the intersection where they sell a lot of lottery tickets.
Delicious
Delicious!
Laos is also by the sea, very spicy. After dinner... What will we teenagers do... Hehe.
I heard that Sa ku ra bar has free drinks at 8 pm. Let's go! ... Wait a minute... Which way should we go? ... Oh, right!
Like a path, only questions will lead to survival.
"Excuse me, where is the Sakura brothel?" she asked with a sly smile.
"Go straight and then turn left."
"Thank you very much!" … Please clap, what are you waiting for? Hehe, it's really hard to speak Lao, I'm not used to it at all. 555
The host will pour vodka into glasses for guests to help themselves. Guests can choose from a variety of mixers, including Coke, Sprite, soda, and water.
This Lao beer costs around 70-80 baht. I'm not sure if that's a fair price or if it's inflated for tourists.
After a few drinks, we had to head back to rest, as tomorrow's trip was jam-packed. Oh, and free alcohol was available from 8 pm to 4 am.
September 26, 2015
Beep...beep... 6 a.m. alarm clock... groggily opened my eyes and rushed to open the window.
"Sea of fog .... Where is the sea of fog ... It rained heavily last night, so there must be fog this morning."
Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.
I snuck out to take pictures of the Lao champaca at Bang Kalo. Just seeing this much fog makes me so happy!
** Last night, after returning from the Sakura Bar, we asked the owner of our accommodation about the price of renting a car for a day trip. They told us that the price would be around 100-150 baht per person, especially if we were a large group (as the cost would be shared among more people). **
"Where can we find a car?" she asked. Her brother replied that in the morning, there would be songthaews (shared taxis) parked in front of the resort waiting for passengers. If we were interested, we could go and ask them. However, if the price was too high, we didn't have to take them. At the three-way intersection, there were many cars waiting to provide services. Alternatively, if we were too lazy to walk around looking for a car, we could use the services of the cars in the area and try to negotiate the price.
With this information in hand, we headed towards Champalao Bungalow. On the way, we saw an uncle's car in excellent condition. We approached him and asked if he could take us on a day trip to all the tourist attractions in Vang Vieng, except for the Tham Nam cave, kayaking, and tubing. He quoted a price in Lao Kip, which we can't recall, but it was around 170 Thai Baht. We negotiated and finally agreed on 150 Baht per person. (The exchange rate at the time was 27-28 Thai Baht to 1 Lao Kip).
At 9:00 a.m., we checked out of Champalaow. Before leaving, we took a photo as a memento.
(Next time, I can use it as a discount, haha, just kidding) Thank you very much for the lovely and comfortable accommodation… While we were having breakfast, the male owner asked us how much we paid. We told him that we paid 150 baht per person, but we didn't participate in any activities. He said, "Hmm, the price isn't too expensive, but if you go out to find food outside, you can get it cheaper…." But this price isn't too expensive because the route is long and quite challenging.
Trip on 26-09-15
After we agreed on the price with the songthaew driver, he planned a sightseeing trip from far to near for us as follows:
1. Visit the Pha Pha Ngan viewpoint.
2. Visit the Blue Lagoon and Pu Kham Cave.
3. Tham Chang + Som Bridge
4. Visit Kaeng Yui Waterfall
Stay tuned to see if we make it through. Let me tell you, this trip almost cost us our lives.
September 26, 2015
11:00 AM. It was time to hit the road to the viewpoint. But after driving for a while, the uncle parked the car in front of someone's house.
"Uncle, why did you stop?"
"Stop to take a picture of the coconut tree, please."
"What is a banyan tree?"
"Indeed... Over there, there are 2 peaks on the same tree... Look, everyone who comes to visit stops by to see it."
"Ah, I see. So that's how it is... Click, click, click."
"Thank you very much .... Let's go now, it's time to go."
We arrived at the viewpoint in no time.
Each of the ladies is stunningly beautiful.
"For a new profile picture, we have to fight… Yay! Go Go..!"

Half an hour passed.
"I can't take it anymore, Alex. I can't walk anymore. I'm going to wait here. I'm tired." - Soldier's wife
"I can't wait any longer," said May, the gibbon. "I'll wait here for you. If you don't come down within half an hour, we'll go wait for you at the car. I really can't wait any longer."
"My legs are shaking... I'll wait with them," the gibbon said.
"Okay, okay, if you can't do it, you can't do it... But it's almost there, can't you guys hold on? Just a little more."
Gibbons collectively exclaimed, "No way!" (Wow, they answered in unison.)
Finally, we've arrived!
Five people survived and three were injured. (The soldier's wife died before her husband.)
As you can see, the condition is...
Excellent value for money.
All my fatigue vanished.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
The view is absolutely stunning! If you're visiting Vang Vieng and have the energy, I highly recommend making the climb. It takes about 40-60 minutes, depending on your pace. Be warned, the path is very steep!
"Uhmm, sis Nick, don't touch that wire. If something happens, it won't be able to help us."

"Look at the pole, I thought it was a dry branch."
Note: Phou Phaเงิน is another important tourist destination in Vang Vieng, but most people do not prefer to visit it.
Translation:
The arduous journey, coupled with the fact that this location remains relatively unknown to most tourists, contributes to its allure.
Fewer than 10 tourists visited the site, mostly foreigners.
How did we get here?
Translation:
...The point where the gibbon fell from the mountain!!!!! Click, click... Beautiful, beautiful. Pose 1, 2, 3.
A moment later... whoosh! ... vanished from the rock!

What should I do?!!!
How do I tell my parents?!
How will the rescue workers get up? How will the ambulance get there?

"Nothing… I bumped my head and scraped my leg… but it's okay, I can keep shooting."

From the starting point today, we spent approximately 2 hours.
The event began at 11:30 a.m. and concluded at approximately 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot.
After drinking water, eating snacks, wiping the body, and dressing the wound, we finally left for the second point around 2 pm.
... The next check-in point is Blue Lagoon >>>> A popular spot among teenagers.
2:00 PM: Head to the Blue Lagoon.

After enjoying the view for a while, we decided to refuel at the papaya salad shop across from the ticket booth.
Translation:
We ordered around 4-5 dishes (the fried pork was delicious, but I didn't have time to take a picture because I was so hungry). We ordered two sets of each dish and the total cost per person, including drinks, was 150 baht.
*** Regarding papaya salad, after having tried it in several places in Laos, I must say that it cannot compete with what we have in Thailand. If you are planning to order it, please do not expect too much!
Next station .... Tham Chang
4:00 PM. After recharging, it's time to head to the third spot!
Lush green scenery on both sides of the road.
We're here! Orange Bridge!

However, it was a pity that our bodies were not up to the challenge of climbing… so we could only look on longingly. After soaking in the atmosphere for a while, we decided to forfeit our right to visit Kaeng Yui Waterfall.
Approximately 500-700 meters... *sigh* (Right now, I just want to fly there... I'm so exhausted!)
Hmm... Could it be that we are getting too old?
The next place I would like to recommend is our accommodation on the last night in Vang Vieng, which is....

Bungalow with scenic views
This room type is a bungalow with an additional bed available for 750 baht. It offers stunning views of rice fields on the left and the Song River on the right.

2. Purchase tickets for the Vang Vieng-Vientiane bus.

In conclusion, we opted for the third option, which was to hire a van (the fixed price was 400 baht per person, and we could depart from Vang Vieng at any time).
6:00 AM

The breakfast at Vieng Tara is delicious, with approximately 7-8 items to choose from (but you can eat everything).

Shopping is done. Let's find something to eat near the food cart (Som Tum shop opposite Amazon). It's delicious, I recommend it.

It is time to return to the City of Heavenly Light.
6:00 AM: After showering, packing, and checking out of the hotel, we hailed a three-wheeled taxi to take us to the Lao border. (Cost: 50 baht per person)
At nearly 7 am, we arrived at the checkpoint, submitted our documents to exit Laos and enter Thailand. After completing the formalities, we took a taxi to the airport (our AirAsia flight departed at 12:40 pm, which we booked for 450 baht). To avoid missing our flight, we chartered a sedan for 2,000 baht, splitting the cost among five people (two members had already left on the evening of the 26th, and another left upon arrival in Vientiane. This left us with a group of five).
