For this trip to Chiang Mai, we spent a total of 3 days. On the first day, we stayed at Baan Rabiaeng Dao. On the second day, we stayed at Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park. And on the last day, we stayed in Chiang Mai city. Before entering Chiang Mai city, we stopped at the Royal Project Factory Museum No. 1 (Fang).
After being amazed by our accommodation yesterday, today we continued our journey to the aptly named Doi Fah Hom Pok, also known as Pha Hom Pok.
Doi Pha Hom Pok is the second highest mountain in Thailand, with an elevation of 2,285 meters above sea level. On March 14, 2006, Mae Fa Luang National Park was renamed Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park to reflect the importance of Doi Pha Hom Pok as a major tourist attraction within the park. On September 26, 2008, the name was changed again to Doi Fa Hom Pok National Park, which remains its current name. (Source: National Park Office)
Don't delay! It's late afternoon. We managed to share the cost of the last available jeep with another group of tourists who just arrived. Actually, we came in our own pickup truck, but the park ranger advised us to hire a car with an experienced driver for safety reasons.
Through the golden meadows, so beautiful.

The sleeping environment tonight is exceptionally comfortable.
After setting up the tent, we quickly took a shower and had dinner. Our dinner tonight was a simple meal of stir-fried dishes. After dinner, we sat down to write postcards and gaze at the stars for a while. The sky was full of stars, but it wasn't as beautiful as the night before.
We went to bed early tonight because we have to wake up at 3:30 am tomorrow! We have an appointment with a park ranger to hike up to the top of the mountain to watch the sunrise.
Despite agreeing with my friend to have a relaxing trip to enjoy the atmosphere, we ended up changing our plans and waking up earlier than we would for work.
The next morning… 3:30 am.
We awoke with bleary eyes and set off immediately. The early morning air was frigid, barely above freezing, but as we ascended, we were forced to shed our jackets, leaving only our short-sleeved shirts.
The 3.5-kilometer hike we had to complete may not seem like a long distance, but combined with the fact that it was an uphill climb in the dark, it was no easy feat. To make matters worse, I was feeling unwell with a cold. During the hike, I had to keep asking my friends to stop and wait for me as I took breaks to blow my nose. As a result, I didn't take any pictures along the way. I was too busy wiping my nose to even think about it.
They reached the summit earlier than expected, while it was still dark. They had to wait for over an hour for the sun to rise.
The moment I stopped walking, I felt a chill that went straight to my heart.
It looks like ice flakes are sticking to it.
We apologize for the blurry image. Due to the cold weather, we were unable to set up a tripod and our hands were shaking. We will wait patiently for the next opportunity.
The sun has risen. Oh! This is not it.
Admire the trees and blades of grass.
Even the smallest flowers are beautiful. These plants are incredibly resilient, able to withstand the harsh winter weather.
The sun has indeed risen today, and it has been working for a long time. However, there are a lot of clouds, so I don't know when it actually came out.
With the sun no longer holding our attention, let's turn our gaze to other captivating vistas. The beauty is simply breathtaking.
"ฟ้าห่มปก" could be interpreted as meaning that when you ascend to this height, it will be as if the sky is enveloping and embracing you.
The lush green carpet before me is so beautiful that it makes me want to jump down and roll around on it.
The hardship of waking up in the early hours, walking blindly in the darkness, only to reveal its beauty as we descend here.
The leaves are so white from the cold.
The "blanket" section likely refers to the lush greenery of the forest, which is likened to a large green blanket covering the entire mountain.
The tree is still completely green.
The descent is a delight, offering stunning views along the way.
Looking at the path, it's hard to believe we climbed it in the dark. Please do not climb up on your own. You should have an officer guide you, or you will definitely get lost.
Upon arriving at the campsite, we immediately headed for the food stalls. The food was simple, yet tasted much better than usual.
Packing up and getting ready to head home!
The descent includes a stopover at a scenic viewpoint along the way.
Before returning, stop by to soak in the mineral water to relieve fatigue.
Feeling instantly stronger after both exercising and soaking in mineral water to relieve muscle fatigue.
See you next time.
