Nestled amidst the serene embrace of nature, Kangsadarn Resort offers a tranquil haven for those seeking respite from the bustling city life. Located in the picturesque Mae Rim district of Chiang Mai, the resort is a mere hour's drive from the city center, providing a convenient escape into the verdant embrace of nature. As you embark on your journey towards the resort, the landscape gradually transforms, revealing lush greenery and a refreshing coolness that invigorates the senses. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the warm hospitality of Kangsadarn Resort, where tranquility and rejuvenation await.
The resort's facade is beautifully decorated with a variety of northern Thai flowering and ornamental plants, each with its own vibrant and distinct color. This initial impression is truly captivating and invites further exploration. Let's head inside to meet the staff and check in to our accommodations.
The check-in area is located on a hilltop. While waiting for the staff to prepare the room, we decided to take a walk outside to enjoy the view. During our visit, there was a light drizzle and a bit of fog, which made the forest scenery even more beautiful. This spot offers a stunning view for relaxing. The accommodations are situated below, cascading down the hillside.
Upon receiving the key to our accommodation, we were greeted with a refreshing chrysanthemum tea as a welcome drink, along with warm towels, as the weather on the mountain was pleasantly cool, embracing the long-awaited winter breeze. A small jasmine garland, delicately woven, added a fragrant touch to the warm welcome, creating a truly heartwarming experience.
The resort offers electric golf carts as the primary mode of transportation. Guests can enjoy a scenic ride through the resort's natural surroundings while feeling the cool breeze.
The resort is surrounded by lush greenery, offering a refreshing and invigorating atmosphere.
And now we've arrived at our room. In front of each room, there is a private area with a table and chairs for relaxing and unwinding. This room is called Chom-Doi (Deluxe Room).
The Deluxe Twin Bedroom where we will be spending the night offers a spacious and airy feel. The room's design and decor seamlessly blend with the natural surroundings of the resort, creating a harmonious ambiance.
The room is well-equipped with amenities, including a hot water kettle, instant coffee and cups, cable TV, slippers, and a chair.
One of the things I loved most was the spacious bathroom, which offered ample space and amenities. It was equipped with soap, face towels, and body towels, along with a heater and a bathtub large enough to comfortably soak in. It was truly perfect for a relaxing day.
After exploring the room, we discovered dried fruits provided by the resort. We enjoyed them as a snack, and they were quite tasty.
Nestled on a hillside, our resort offers breathtaking views. A unique highlight is the opportunity to observe elephants as they amble through the natural landscape, taking tourists on a scenic journey to the nearby waterfall. This majestic sight is a constant presence, offering a glimpse into the harmonious coexistence between nature and tourism. The cascading waterfall, a testament to the region's natural beauty, awaits your exploration.
A short walk from the accommodation, less than 5 minutes, will lead you to a natural waterfall. It is a truly beautiful sight, with the sound of the cascading water providing a relaxing atmosphere throughout the day and night. This is a highly recommended spot for those seeking tranquility.
As we continued our scenic walk, hunger pangs began to set in. Glancing at our watches, we realized it was time for dinner. Fortunately, there was a restaurant on-site called "Sawan Ahan Klang Doi," which conveniently served breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The dining area is truly immersed in nature, offering a delightful experience of enjoying meals with scenic views. The restaurant boasts a diverse menu with a wide variety of dishes to choose from, catering to all preferences. The prices are also reasonable, making it an accessible option for all.
The menu includes the following items:
- Northern Thai Green Chili Dip - Chiang Mai Sausage - Stir-fried Bitter Melon Shoots - Steamed Ruby Fish with Lime
The meal concluded with a delightful dessert, Benjarong Bua Loy, a sweet and fragrant treat that was soft and delicious when served warm.
As the sun sets after dinner, the sky darkens and the resort lights begin to illuminate the surroundings. Let's explore the enchanting atmosphere of the night.
The waterfall area is beautifully lit, making it a romantic spot for an evening stroll. The atmosphere is truly enchanting.
The front of the resort is beautifully lit, matching the cool weather. You can walk around and admire the flowers both day and night. It's perfect for those who can't sleep and want to take a walk and enjoy the night atmosphere. After a while, it's time to go back to the room and relax. Tomorrow, we will take you to see other interesting things.
Today is another day to breathe fresh air, good for the heart and body, on the top of the mountain, by the waterfall in Kang Sadan Resort, before returning to the city life again. So I plan to wake up at 7 am to come out and receive the morning air, listen to the sound of the waterfall, the sound of birds, walk to see the forest, and walk to the dining room to have breakfast together. In the morning, it will be coffee, Ovaltine, and toast with fruit jam. Besides, there is rice porridge or you can order fried eggs, sausages, and Western-style salad on the mountain.
Approaching the waterfall again in the morning at the same spot, but the feeling has changed. It's the best way to start a new day. Today, we're going to review another type of room to see how interesting it is.
Chom-Doi Grand Suite, Second Floor
This room is located at the very top of the hill, higher than any other room. Therefore, the view we will see will be very wide. It is a room that is perfect for a wide view as far as the eye can see. Now, let's take a look inside and see what it's like.
The room's front porch features a table for relaxation, reading newspapers, sipping coffee, listening to the sound of the waterfall with a cool breeze, or enjoying a family meal together. The view of the natural waterfall is unobstructed.
The room is well-equipped with various furniture, including a sofa, chairs, a work desk, a flat-screen TV, and a sound system. The second floor, accessible via a spiral staircase, serves as the bedroom area.
The upstairs bedroom features a king-size bed that can comfortably accommodate four guests. The room is well-equipped with amenities and boasts a window with scenic views. This room is an excellent choice for groups traveling together. Baan Klang Doi (Deluxe Room)
This room offers a truly immersive natural experience, perfect for those seeking a close connection with the outdoors. The beautiful wooden decor, with its vibrant colors, creates a simple yet stunning aesthetic.
This room is a personal favorite. In my opinion, it has the most vibrant green color scheme, which instantly uplifts my mood. The ambiance is incredibly relaxing, making it the perfect space for genuine relaxation.
After viewing two rooms, it was time for lunch. The menu consisted of spicy jungle curry with chicken, stir-fried glass noodles, omelet, and hot steamed rice. Personally, I loved the jungle curry. The curry paste was authentic and incredibly flavorful. It was the perfect way to end our trip, leaving us feeling full, content, and relaxed. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Joy for this wonderful opportunity.
