Hello, I am Seally-Go-Round the sea lion.

I was away for a while because I was busy during the New Year. After the New Year, I had a three-day break, which was very worthwhile. I visited many places, but today I want to review a short one-day, one-night trip to Kanchanaburi. The main purpose of the trip was to relax, so I didn't do much strenuous activity. I've been to Kanchanaburi many times before, but I'm always impressed every time I visit.

Where can I go for a short 1-day, 1-night trip? Let's jump on a bus and go to Kanchanaburi...

Embarking from Pattaya, we aimed to extend our short break by seeking a multi-day getaway experience in the countryside. To optimize our time, we opted for an evening departure after work, choosing Nakhon Pathom as our overnight destination. This strategic decision allowed us to save four hours of travel time in the morning, enabling us to wake up in a new environment and kickstart our vacation promptly.

Before checking in, stop by the Phra Pathom Chedi Night Market to feed the seals.

Despite its reputation as a late-night market, we arrived after 9:30 pm to find vendors already packing up.

However, I don't think I'll put it away just yet. So I went to see the uncle at the sky-high ice cream shop show off his ice cream throwing skills. I've seen him on every show, he's become quite famous.

The friendly vendor generously offered free ice cream to customers who were interested.

...However, if you can't accept it, my uncle said... you'll have to go hungry. 555

Uncle's ice cream shop offers ordinary flavors, but the highlight is Uncle's entertaining style. The ice cream is priced at 30 baht per cup.

To witness the skillful ice cream tossing of the elderly gentleman, visit him at the Nakhon Pathom Night Market. He begins setting up in the late afternoon and closes shop around 10 pm. (Not quite all night, but don't forget!)

After enjoying the floating ice cream, stop by for a bite to eat before the restaurants close. The restaurants offer similar dishes such as noodles, sukiyaki, oyster omelets, and oyster pancakes. The taste is good, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. Come and fill your stomach in the evening!

Full, I can sleep anywhere. Aww, no!

We have already made a reservation for tonight at The Pround Executive Hotel in Nakhon Pathom, which is not far from Phra Pathom Chedi.

The price is 880 baht/night. The hotel is brand new and comfortable. If you want to change your sleeping place or do business in Nakhon Pathom, you can stay here. You can check in at any time. There are staff at the front desk on standby 24 hours a day.

Spacious room, comfortable sleep.

There is a balcony to sit and relax.

The only downside is that the pillow is very high and steep, making it ideal for patients with acid reflux.

The morning has arrived, and I feel like I'm already in travel mode. It's a great feeling. I love this vibe.

Comfortable accommodation, new room, spacious, clean and tidy. Anyone who comes to visit, do business in Nakhon Pathom, or stop for a night before continuing their journey like a seal, can stay here.

This morning, we skipped breakfast at the hotel because we wanted to experience a Nakhon Pathom-style breakfast at the market. As you might guess, when in Nakhon Pathom, you have to try Khao Moo Daeng (red pork with rice).

Nakhon Pathom boasts numerous red pork rice vendors, but this establishment reigns supreme as the originator. Expect bustling crowds.

The presence of numerous displays in front of a store and a full house of customers can influence purchasing decisions.

The provided text is empty. There is nothing to translate.

Let's go in and eat.

The crowd is massive... It's 8:00 AM and there are already so many people.

The order consisted of three dishes: crispy pork rice, red pork rice, and duck rice.

The taste is average, the sauce is sweet, but the price is affordable at only 35 baht per dish.

(The deep-fried fish cakes from the street vendor were surprisingly delicious, with a bold and flavorful taste.)

Full, let's go to Kanchanaburi next.....yay!

The distance between Nakhon Pathom and Kanchanaburi is relatively short. It takes less than an hour to drive to Kanchanaburi city center.

Today is Children's Day, so I wanted to go to the zoo. My parents were kind enough to take me to the safari park in Kanchanaburi. Yay!

Upon entering Kanchanaburi city, we opened Google Maps and headed to the Safari Park Open Zoo in Bo Phloi District.

I have always wanted to visit the giraffe who pokes its head into the bus. The picture of it is so adorable.

Seizing the opportunity of Children's Day today, perfectly fitting the theme, upon arriving at the zoo, we first purchased tickets.

Admission fee: 200 baht for adults, 100 baht for children.

Foreign adults 550 baht, children 350 baht.

Open 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Visitors can drive their own vehicles directly into the zoo or take the zoo's shuttle bus.

The seal decided to drive itself so that it could spend more time with the animals.

Drive in here, it feels like going to Safari World.

The first zone is home to various deer species.

The deer are adorable and friendly. ^^

Please drive slowly and be aware of your surroundings when entering the area, especially when starting or stopping your vehicle, to avoid harming any animals.

Note: If you wish to feed the animals vegetables such as catnip or long beans, they are available for purchase at the ticket booth for 100 baht per 4 bowls.

Purchased items can be fed to animals, except for bears, lions, and tigers.

Privately hired tourist vehicle

(Photo taken through a car window with tinted film, so it might not be very clear. I didn't dare to open the window for fear of the tiger eating me.)

The zone of the deer has ended. Enter the zone of the tigers and lions, the kings of the jungle.

Sleeping soundly.

They're here!

Due to safety concerns, opening the windows in this area is prohibited. As a result, I had to take the photo through the tinted car window, resulting in a blurry image.

The leopard looks adorable. It probably isn't fierce. I want to hug it.

A man named Singto is seen sleeping under the legs of an officer sitting in a jeep.

As I exited, I inquired with the staff at the exit, "Won't the lion harm the keepers?" They responded that the lion is familiar with the scent of its caretakers, but if it encounters an unfamiliar scent, it could pose a threat.

After escaping the ferocious wild animal zone, we entered a joyous atmosphere. What are they all gathered around over there?

Hello there!

Oh my! I was startled. You came up so quietly. ^^'

Don't come so close... Oh my god!

A carrot for the zebra to eat.

The giraffe is here.

Let him eat too.

However, the giraffes and zebras here are not as persistent. If you tell them there are no carrots, they will simply shake their heads and move on to another group.

The children and parents on the bus are having a great time. ^^

Zebra itself

The giraffe is charging.

What does this mean?

Let's eat!

The giraffes here are adorable.

The long-podded carrots were all gone, 4 basins in total. It was time to move on. Goodbye, giraffe and zebra.

New cars will be swarmed.

A joyful and age-appropriate celebration, perfectly fitting for Children's Day.

The zoo area, featuring elephant and crocodile shows, is less impressive due to the limited number of animals. The safari zone, however, is the true highlight.

If you're interested in visiting and playing with the deer, giraffe, and zebra, it's just a short drive from the city. There may not be as many animals as Safari World or Khao Kheow, but the giraffes and zebras here are all friendly and adorable. ^^

After leaving the safari park, there was still plenty of time before checking into our accommodation. However, the scorching heat made sightseeing in the city unbearable. Seeking respite, we decided to visit Erawan Waterfall, a considerable distance of 70 kilometers from the zoo.

The roadside view is relaxing, with sparse trees. It makes me want to live in Kanchanaburi.

Arriving at Erawan Waterfall in the afternoon, the crowd was quite large. As it was Children's Day, there were many children, adults, and foreigners present.

A significant advantage of visiting on Children's Day is **free admission to the park!**

Saved 230 baht. Got a meal of papaya salad, grilled chicken, and waterfall pork at the entrance of the waterfall. Just this is already so satisfying!

Full, let's go soak in the waterfall^^

Many people may have seen pictures or visited this place before. The waterfall here has several levels, but today I will only go up to the fourth level.

Watching foreigners slide down from the butterfly's chest is fun enough. ^^

The crystal-clear Blue Pond at Erawan Waterfall.

Refreshing... Soaking in the waterfall is truly refreshing and cool. ^^

We will depart from Erawan Waterfall and head towards the city center to check in to our accommodation in Kanchanaburi City.

Our accommodation for tonight is called "Ploy Resort", a small and compact resort located behind the River Kwai. It is situated in an alley behind the Allied War Cemetery, making it very convenient to get around.

A brief overview will be provided first, followed by a comprehensive review in the next section.

The room rates here are 1,050 baht and 1,200 baht. The difference is that the 1,200 baht room has been recently renovated. Meow chose the 1,200 baht room.

The accommodation here is not very large, but it is compact and well-designed, making efficient use of space.

Upon entering the room, I was pleasantly surprised by its charm. It was even more beautiful than the pictures I had seen. I would love to have a bedroom like this.

The bed is wide because it is made by joining two and a half foot pieces together.

The room features a cozy nook with a view, perfect for quiet reading or enjoying the scenery.

Let's go check out the pool. The sunset is beautiful in the evening. The view is especially nice when the river is full.

The image may appear arid when the water level is low.

The upper bastion offers a tranquil vantage point with stunning views, providing a serene escape from the bustling city life below.

I will provide a full review next time. For now, I'm going to take a shower, change my clothes, and eat at Boon Nam Gaeng Pa. The restaurant is a bit difficult to find if you're not from the area, and I'm not from the area either. I followed Google Maps to get here.

Spicy jungle curry, just the way I like it! ^^

After eating, we continued our walk. Every Saturday, there is a walking street in the city called Pak Phraek Walking Street. It is a small walking street that connects to the walking street in front of the City Pillar Shrine. In the evening, there are many people and a lot of food and snacks to choose from.

A variety of small items sold by local vendors.

There are some clothes, but not many.

Visitors who come on Saturday evenings can enjoy a stroll and grab some snacks and treats. ^^

It's late, go back to your accommodation and rest.

The accommodation was very comfortable. The only drawback I encountered during this trip was that the pillows at both accommodations were extremely high.

The pillow is so stuffed that it feels like hugging a teddy bear. Normally, the sea lion doesn't sleep on a very flat pillow, but the pillow here is really fat. If you're afraid of a stiff neck, bring your own pillow for a good night's sleep.

The morning has arrived, and it's time to continue our journey. Little did we know that our plan for today was to pick up my mother in Bangkok, then head to Datsada in Prachinburi, and finally cross Khao Yai to stay at Escape Khao Yai.

... Good people wouldn't do this. But before we set off, we had breakfast together at the poolside dining area.

The air is fresh and invigorating in the morning.

At Ploy, they said they would have tea, coffee, and toast for self-service. When I arrived, they also had fried rice available. This was very filling.

Scrambled eggs, omelets, or pancakes are available for an additional charge.

That's enough for breakfast, I'm ready to go. Check out, bye Ploy ^^

One day and one night in Kanchanaburi was truly enjoyable, a perfect getaway. Kanchanaburi never fails to impress me, I want to come back again and again, stay here as long as possible! ^^

See you next time! ^^
