Three years ago, I went on a trip to the north of Thailand, with the goal of conquering the Queen of Tigers at Khun Chang Kian and Pang Ung (Chiang Mai, Pai, Mae Hong Son). I loved it so much that I wanted to find time to come back and visit again. But this time, I wanted to try a new route so that I could visit provinces I hadn't been to before and level up in the ones I had already visited. There are many ways to get to the north, so we planned to go through Nan because we wanted to live like the locals for a while. Then we would gradually make our way around in a circle, continuing on to Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai as our final destinations.

Here is my review from three years ago.

**Summary of the 13-20 January 2017 Field Trip**

13/1/60: Departed from Chonburi and stopped over in Phitsanulok (Dragon River Avenue).

14/1/60: Nan (Sreenuanlod Lodge)

15/1/60 : Chiang Rai (Hom Hostel)

16/1/60: Chiang Rai (In the Garden Bed and Breakfast)

17/1/60 : Ang Khang (Baan Luang Resort)

18/1/60: Chiang Mai (Chic 39)

January 19, 1960: Chiang Mai (The Artel Nimmanha)

20/1/60 : Returned to Chonburi.

Throughout the trip, Google Maps was our trusty companion. Whether we were traversing provinces or searching for hidden gems, no matter how remote or tucked away, Google Maps guided us with unwavering accuracy. Even when venturing into rice paddies, our digital navigator led us to our destination with remarkable precision.

The total cost for the 7-night, 8-day trip is divided into:

Accommodation cost for 7 nights: 11,000 baht.

The cost of fuel is 1,000 baht.

The cost of LPG gas is 1,800 baht.

Food expenses: 5,000 baht

The total cost was approximately 18,800 baht (rounded figure), which is 9,500 baht per person. Interestingly, the expenses were lower than the previous trip despite the increased number of days. This could be attributed to less frequent mountain driving, which typically consumes more fuel. (Note: The total cost excludes souvenirs.)

The first day, we departed from Chonburi around 10:00 AM, taking a leisurely drive on the Bang Pa-in Motorway. We cruised along, enjoying the scenery, passing through the provinces of Ayutthaya, Sing Buri, Chai Nat, Nakhon Sawan, Phichit, and Phitsanulok.

Our first destination is Phitsanulok.

The trip was a marathon-style road trip that required significant advance planning. Despite the extensive planning, the trip was a success, with a safe round trip and no unexpected events during the journey.

We hope our journey will inspire you to seek inspiration, relax with your family, travel with loved ones, encourage yourself, and recharge your batteries.

**Remember, you don't know until you travel in Thailand. Along the way, we learn, gain experience, encounter new things, and exchange ideas with new places and people we meet. It's fun, it's the color of life. See you again in the next review.**
