Trip: Superhuman Trip: Episode 4 What views in Lamphun make us want to go there?

**Road trip:** Chiang Mai - Lamphun

Travel Cost: Group of 4 (3500 Baht)

Translation: A review of the Pha Daeng Luang viewpoint in Mae Ping National Park, an Unseen Thailand destination that remains peaceful and largely untouched by human intervention.

What makes "Lamphun" a must-visit destination? While many may overlook this province, it holds hidden natural beauty. One such gem is the "Mae Ping National Park," offering breathtaking panoramic views from "Pha Daeng Luang." This scenic spot overlooks the Ping River and rolling hills, creating a tranquil and awe-inspiring experience. The journey to this viewpoint is manageable, making it a worthwhile adventure. Let's explore this hidden treasure together!

***Note

- Accommodation, camping sites, and restrooms are available.

- To witness the sunrise, you must wake up between 3 and 4 a.m. because the drive to the starting point takes approximately an hour, leaving your bottom sore.

The path is a gravel road that zigzags through large trees.

- The climb to the cliff is not long, only 2 kilometers, but it is steep and gradual.

- Please contact us one week in advance. The price is 3500 baht per group of 5 people. If there are more than 5 people, an additional 300 baht per person will be charged. (This price includes

food, 4x4 ride to the cliff, staff fees, and accommodation)

- In addition, there are many nearby tourist attractions such as Ko Noi-Ko Luang Waterfall, Kaeng Ko, Tung Kik, and Pha Khai.

Contact Officer J 093-130-8439 in the Industrial Estate Authority.

Thank you, Uncle, for letting me experience the radiant sunlight on my cheeks instead. 55 (Following the view from this thread) https://pantip.com/topic/35858019

Chapter 0: Before Reaching the Horizon

Booking and Fees

  • Contact Mae Ping National Park at 085-528-4324 or the park officer directly at 093-130-8439 (Note: Mobile phone signal is limited within the park, so communication may be intermittent).
  • Bookings should be made at least one week in advance to allow park staff to prepare the area and confirm the availability of a guide.
  • Group size is limited to 5 people with a fixed price of 3500 baht. For groups larger than 5, the price is 300 baht per person (other prices may apply depending on circumstances).
  • Visitors may drive their own vehicles, but a park officer must accompany them (officer fee: 800 baht). This is due to the overgrown and challenging terrain, as well as the potential presence of wildlife.

***Note

Note 1: The package price is 3500 baht (including everything from 4x4 transportation to the trekking point, accommodation, tour guide fees, staff fees, and park fees).

Note 2: There are camping sites, bungalows, and public restrooms available (no shops on the top, but there is a restaurant within the park area, which is many kilometers away. If you travel to the camping site, it will be difficult to get to other areas). Once you have booked, the staff will pick you up and drop you off (it is recommended to go to the camping site in the evening. Before that, you can visit other tourist attractions within the Mae Ping National Park).

Note 3: If there are less than 5 people, the staff may not allow you to climb the cliff (other cases depend on the appropriateness).

Note 4: Contacting the staff in advance will let us know whether or not you will be able to visit this place. This is because sometimes it is closed for renovation or repair, some areas are closed for a long time, and sometimes the weather and road conditions are not convenient for opening to tourists. Therefore, you should book at least 1 week in advance.

Getting There

1. To Mae Ping National Park:

  • Private car: Follow GPS coordinates to Mae Ping National Park (approximately 2 hours from the city center). The road is paved, with rice fields, trees, and houses scattered along the way. Traffic is light, making hitchhiking difficult.
  • Other transportation: Arrange private transportation (no direct service from the park). No taxis or other transportation options are available within the park.

2. To Pha Daeng Luang:

  • 4x4 vehicle: A 4x4 vehicle is required due to the rough gravel road and dense vegetation. The route is unclear and requires driving experience. (Travel time from accommodation to the starting point is 1 hour 20 minutes.)
  • Overnight stay: It is recommended to stay overnight at the park to wake up early (around 3-4 am) for the sunrise. (Other options are available based on preference.) You can stay at Tung Kik or the campsite near the Noi Waterfall viewpoint. (Travel time from Tung Kik to the campsite is 30 minutes.) If you prefer to wake up later, staying at the campsite is recommended. (However, Tung Kik offers beautiful views.)

### Camping Site (Tung Kik)

We left Chiang Mai in the late morning and arrived at Mae Ping National Park around noon. After contacting the park rangers, we headed to the camping site, which is called "Tung Mai Mee Fan" (Tung Kik for short), which means "Field of No Boyfriend". 555 We set up our tents so we could go sightseeing elsewhere (there is no phone signal here). This campsite has separate male and female bathrooms and showers, with 10 rooms each. There is no need to worry about waiting in line, and they are clean. There is also a campfire area and tents available for rent for those who don't have their own. Tonight, we will be sleeping at Tung Kik, with the entire area to ourselves. Ahhhhh, so refreshing! 555

This is our chef with a blowtorch. Can we eat it?

Oh my god! It's on fire! (Just kidding, it's boiling water. That means it's safe to eat because it's going to be cooked soon. Haha)

Okay, edible, survived!!!..

This review focuses solely on the Pha Daeng Luang viewpoint (a separate post will cover other attractions within Mae Ping National Park).

...The ending scene shows a lamp, or rather, a bonfire. Haha.

Part 1: While Waiting for Him

At 3:00 AM, it was time to wake up and start the day. After a quick breakfast, we set off in our 4x4 vehicle with four people on board. The journey was bumpy and scenic, with gravel roads and lush vegetation. After an hour of driving, we reached the starting point for our hike. The trail was steep and challenging, but we made it to the top in less than half an hour. However, the view was obscured by fog, leaving us wondering if we were at the right place.

As the sun rises, some people continue to sleep, some look for food, and some take pictures of the stars. As for me, I take pictures of everything in front of me. I'm a paparazzi. 555

Chapter 1: Good Morning, Daybreak

The rising sun soon cast its radiant glow upon my eyelids, piercing the veil of night. As the first rays of dawn illuminated the sky, they danced across the rugged peaks and valleys that lined the Ping River. The breathtaking panorama unfolded before me, a testament to the tranquility and grandeur of nature.

Let me take a quick picture...

I can't take it anymore. She's too beautiful. I'm going to stand up and clap for the camera.

The view looks much better now that the crowd has dispersed.

And then it came back to block the view again, fearing that this picture would be too beautiful.

Zoom out a little more, but we must have a stance (I'm not going anywhere, damn it!!)

Let me shake off the lice... Oops!! Shake off my hair (which hasn't been washed).

So this is what they call a yellow sky (Oops! The camera isn't what we talked about. Why is the light hitting it? 55)

Let's Dab twice before the sun sets on us.

Including the staff, thank you for taking care of our true friends, true companions, and travel companions (wait, that'sสมบัติทัวร์ 55)

Farewell, and may you find success and victory.

Perhaps there are also forests. 555

Ouch, I'm hurt!

Chapter 2: Farewell, Watermelon. Cheers and Hoots

After enjoying the stunning natural scenery on Pha Daeng Luang, we returned to the ground by "jumping" (getting on a car) 555 as usual. We sat in the car with sore butts until we reached the campsite (can I fast forward 1.20 hours?). The officers were very kind and said goodbye with a watermelon. Oh my, it was huge! It was juicy and refreshing, a perfect treat before we left. Goodbye.

Watermelon from Lamphun, the fruit is bigger than a human head. 555

The fun is over.. Teletubby house was demolished (nostalgia)

See you again.. Who will be next? 555 (Come on, she's really beautiful)
