Hello, Seally-Go-Round!

This is a review of a relaxing day trip around Khao Yai and Wang Nam Khieo, familiar destinations for everyone.

Even with limited time, Khao Yai offers plenty of fun and entertainment.

Following a previous trip from Pattaya to Nakhon Pathom and Kanchanaburi, Seally picked up her mother in Bangkok and headed to Khao Yai.

After checking out of Ploy Resort in Kanchanaburi, they drove to Escape Khao Yai, stopping at the beautiful flower gardens of Daษดา Gallery in Prachinburi along the way.

Daษดา Gallery

Seally had visited Daษดา four years ago and even took a picture with the big bear (see old photo).

Today, I decided to drop by and say hello to the original bear. ^^

...Hello, Mr. Bear. This is a picture of you now, and you still seem to be looking furtively. ^^

Typically, from the end of the year until February, Dazzling Daisies hosts a beautiful flower garden for tourists to visit.

Admission fees are 250 baht for adults and 150 baht for children.

However, due to the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), the major event has been postponed and replaced with a flower display as a tribute.

This year's admission fees are 100 baht for adults and 70 baht for children.

Abundant flowers in vibrant colors.

A lovely green archway.

This year's floral arrangements are a fitting tribute to the late monarch. The attention to detail is truly commendable.

A zone with His Majesty's composed songs is available for visitors to relax and enjoy the King's music in the evening. How wonderful!

He was a true virtuoso.

The flower garden has many zones, making it a worthwhile visit. ^^

Flower enthusiasts and photography lovers will be delighted by the vibrant and diverse array of blooms, offering endless opportunities to capture stunning images.

I had a wonderful time taking pictures of the flowers. I'm not sure if the Dasada Flower Festival will be held this year, but I'm sure it will be even bigger and more beautiful at the end of the year. ^^ After admiring the beautiful flowers, we crossed Khao Yai and checked in at ESCAPE, which is on the other side of the mountain.

***P.S. On the way, we saw a lot of monkeys on the side of the road. Please drive slowly and be careful of the monkeys. Also, please do not feed the monkeys. They will not wait for food on the side of the road, which is very dangerous. Cars can easily hit them at high speeds. Please be careful. ***

And then we crossed the mountain and arrived at our accommodation for tonight .......

ESCAPE | KHAOYAI

I'm not usually a fan of staying in places like this, not because of anything specific, but because it's a bit out of my budget. Hehe. ^^'

I usually stay in places that cost a few hundred baht or a thousand baht at most, but this time I'm bringing my parents with me, so I wanted to find a place that was more comfortable and had more amenities.

So I looked at Escape as an option, and since I got a special price deal, I took the opportunity to stay in Khao Yai in comfort.

The room I booked was a Deluxe room, which wasn't very big, but it was decorated in warm colors.

Eco-conscious and environmentally friendly

The bathroom is spacious, comparable in size to a bedroom.

Open the balcony to see the outside view.

The fourth-floor balcony, the highest floor with panoramic views, was unfortunately not cool enough on the day of our stay. We were really hoping for a chilly experience.

The evening atmosphere here with the lights on is beautiful and romantic.

During the winter season, they have an ESCAPE YARD WINTER SEASON with a BBQ buffet where you can grill and listen to music in a relaxed atmosphere.

The ambiance is perfect, but the weather doesn't cooperate. . . . If it were around 20 degrees, the vibe would be amazing! ^^

Imagining the cold, haha! 555+

It's late, go to sleep, it's better to rest. We'll continue our journey tomorrow. zzzZZZZZ....

The morning light is already shining through the curtains. It's just the sun, it doesn't bring any cool wind with it. Huhuhuhuhu.

The morning atmosphere here is pleasant. ^^

Breakfast is served at the Green Oak Bistro on the 2nd floor.

Escape's breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of dishes.

I'm hungry! Let's go find something to eat!

The food was delicious. I don't usually eat breakfast, but today I had a lot of it. I'm full until the evening ^^

Delicious yogurt.

Full and satisfied, we took a leisurely stroll around the area while waiting to check out.

Regrettably, I was unable to enjoy the water activities due to the large crowds.

"ESCAPE KHAOYAI" - A Convenient Getaway for Families

"ESCAPE KHAOYAI" offers a comfortable and convenient escape for families seeking a weekend retreat near Bangkok. While not immersed in the heart of nature, it provides amenities and facilities suitable for all family members.

After checking in at Escape yesterday evening, we decided to find a nearby restaurant for dinner. Escape offers a restaurant with discounted meals for guests who pre-order a set menu before dinner. However, we opted to go for a drive instead.

We ended up having dinner at Pen Lao Restaurant. I won't go into detail about the meal, as it wasn't particularly memorable.

Interestingly, across from the restaurant is a Lao Farmer's Market.

- THE BIRDER'S LODGE FARMER MARKET -

A chic and cool farmers' market open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, offering organic produce such as salad greens, vegetables, and fruits.

However, when I arrived on Sunday evening, they were already packing up to go home. I'm always late!

At least there is still a shop waiting for us, that is, homemade ice cream with strange flavors. Some flavors that you wouldn't expect to exist, such as coriander, basil, and sour mango sorbet. They are very creative! ^^

"Basil Ice Cream"

This ice cream features the distinct flavor of basil. The texture is similar to shaved ice, and it does not contain any milk.

It's an unusual combination, but it surprisingly complements the waterfall at Pen Lao restaurant. If you're curious about the taste, give it a try!

There's also a cafe next door, but I didn't try it. It was already dark, and I didn't want to have coffee and not be able to sleep. >-<

Escaping the city, today's destination was to visit my boyfriend's father's house in Pak Chong, near Jim Thompson Farm. However, on the day of our visit, the farm had just closed the week before. We decided to stop by a nearby flower field instead. During that time, I saw many people reviewing the 'Sunflower Field at Mani See Farm' on my social media feed, so I thought we should check it out.

Upon arrival, we realized we were too late again.

It's a pity.

Locals say it will be in full bloom a week before New Year's.

The sun is scorching, and the sunflowers are starting to wilt. Hopefully, next time we'll have the chance to see them bloom in unison across the entire mountain range.

Let's get in the car quickly, the sun is scorching hot! We're heading to our house in Pak Chong via Route 304 Wang Nam Khieo. Let's open Google Maps and find the route to Wang Nam Khieo. Google Maps is great, it always takes us on shortcuts. The road is bumpy though, my insides are about to fall out! ^^'

And finally, we've reached Wang Nam Khieo! Yay!

- Wang Nam Khieo -

We come to Wang Nam Khieo often because it's on the way to our house. But this time, we're here to buy souvenirs like salad vegetables and mushroom sausages. We usually buy them at 'Farm Outlet at Uncle Kai's Garden'. It's a bit further in, but the prices are much cheaper than the souvenir shops at the entrance of Wang Nam Khieo. And we're sure the vegetables are fresh and clean because Uncle Kai grows them himself. ^^

In addition to pesticide-free salad vegetables, villagers also sell products made in the community, although not as many.

After shopping here, you can sit and relax in the cool breeze.

Enjoying a chemical-free organic salad.

Besides the variety of organic vegetables, another reason to drive deep into the countryside to visit Uncle Kai's garden is to find the hidden gem!

And that is...

Uncle Kai's Spicy Fermented Fish!

I must say it's fantastic, spicy and flavorful. Every time I pass Wang Nam Khieo, I have to stop by to get some of Uncle Kai's spicy fermented fish. The fermented fish here is pre-cooked by steaming, because if it is stir-fried, it will turn black and not look appetizing. It's really delicious, the chef confirms. You can buy it and keep it in the refrigerator. It can be stored for a long time. Eat it with fresh vegetables and omelets, it's really delicious.

Don't believe it... until you try it!

And the picture below is 'Souvenirs from Uncle Kai's Garden', consisting of

- Spicy fermented fish, fermented mushroom sausage, mushroom omelet, and organic baby carrot salad -

Get a quality meal that is both delicious and full of nutrients from souvenirs from Wang Nam Khieo. . . . Oh, so delicious!

I received several bags of souvenirs from Uncle Kai's garden. On the way out of Wang Nam Khiao, not far from Uncle Kai's garden, I stopped by a beautiful coffee shop with a view for a while at . . .

- Wang Nam Khiao Coffee Roasting House -

A coffee roastery and cafe located by the river in Wang Nam Khieo. The location is excellent, and the view is stunning.

Even on a Monday, this place is bustling with people. Having a store with a good location and beautiful views really attracts customers, even though the entrance is a bit deep and the road is rough. It's not a problem at all.

Moving on to coffee, the offerings here are distinctly Thai in style and flavor. Most customers opt for iced coffee beverages.

Coffee-based processed products are also available.

The highlight of this place is this corner.

Everyone must take a photo of the table on the raft when they come here ^^

It seems that it can also be used as accommodation.

The weather is so hot, I'm going to take my leave now. . . . If you want to come and enjoy coffee with a view, you can come to 'Wang Nam Khieo Coffee Roasting House'. Just open Google Maps and come in from the main road. It's quite deep inside, there's a small sign on the left-hand side.

Leaving Wang Nam Khieo, I stopped by my house in Pak Thong Chai for a bit. Then on the way back, I took the Mittraphap Road and stopped to eat at 'Suan Muang Porn'. I've been wanting to come here for a long time but never had the chance. Today I passed by, so I stopped to feed the sea lions some dinner.

- Suan Muang Porn -

The restaurant boasts a beautiful view, but its condition suggests a lack of proper maintenance.

The best time to enjoy the view here is probably in the evening, during sunset.

Around 6 pm, but the sun set very quickly, barely had time to take pictures.

The view is beautiful. If the shop is improved and taken care of a little better, it will be excellent.

If you're looking for a beautiful view of the sunset, you can visit 'Suan Muang Porn'. The food may not be outstanding, and the overall condition of the restaurant is not well-maintained. However, if you come to sit and enjoy the breeze and the view during the sunset, it's still okay.

It's time to go home. I have to go to Bangkok to send my mother, and then I'll drive straight back home to Pattaya. It's worth traveling for 3 days off ^^

. . . See you again on the next trip. Whenever I have a day off, I'll definitely go on a trip.
