I choose to walk away from what I think I cannot accept.
Time: Waking up in the morning and realizing it's a day off work (my choice)
Location: Train station
Character: Me
I embarked on a journey aboard a new northbound train, venturing into uncharted territory with the sole hope that it would be an improvement over remaining stagnant.
Time: 7:20 AM
Location: Chiang Mai Province
Characters: Me, the young girl on the red truck
The young girl on the red bus: She and I are different only in terms of gender and age. But what we have in common is that we both don't know where we are going. She and I both look out the window. Waiting for the time when this red bus will stop. There is no conversation between these two strangers. There is only a smile on our faces sometimes. It's a good welcome from the host. My destination stops at Nimmanha Road. As for her, she can only look back with her hands hugging her Mickey Mouse backpack. I believe she must love this bag very much. And I can only hope that she will meet Mickey Mouse someday. Good luck, little girl on the red bus.
Time: 8:20 AM
Location: Chiang Mai Province, Nimmanhaemin Road Soi 15, Two Gals and the Pig
Character: Me
After spending only half an hour searching for accommodation in the Nimmanhaemin area, I stumbled upon this place. It appeared clean and visually appealing. Every morning, complimentary beverages and bread are provided. If you enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, sipping coffee in a comfortable setting, I highly recommend this location.
Due to my limited budget, I opted for a dormitory room. However, it turned out to be surprisingly comfortable. Fortunately, during my stay, the room was occupied only by myself and one other foreign stranger. This made the dorm room feel remarkably peaceful.
As an art enthusiast, I find myself drawn to the vibrant art scene in Nimmanhaemin. This trendy district boasts a plethora of cafes, many of which seamlessly integrate art into their spaces.
A rough estimate suggests the presence of 5-6 galleries in Nimmanhaemin.
ARTMAI, a unique establishment located in Nimmanhaemin Soi 3, serves as both a gallery and accommodation.
The name "Rao Lae" has multiple interpretations. In spoken language, it can mean "to tell" or "to narrate." However, in this context, "Rao Lae" refers to storytelling through written words. This bookstore, located in the Nimmanhaemin district, is a serendipitous discovery. Situated opposite the BookSmith bookstore on Nimmanhaemin Soi 3, Rao Lae embodies the ideal atmosphere of a bookstore. Many international visitors frequent Rao Lae. More than just a bookstore, Rao Lae also houses a small art gallery on its second floor, showcasing impressive artwork on a regular basis.
Gallery Seescape will be a Gallery / Coffee / Studio located in Nimmanhaemin Soi 17.
To be continued in the next episode.
