The month of April is coming to an end, and many people might think that the Andaman Sea's tourist season is also coming to a close. However, wait! We're here to give you a review of what it's like to **"travel to the Andaman Sea in May."** We'll whisper a little secret: even though it's the end of summer, it's still **beautiful and clear**, just like any other time of year.

Our trip took place between April 30th and May 2nd, 2016, coinciding with the Labor Day long weekend. After a spontaneous decision to travel with our friends and only being available during this period, we opted for the most cost-effective option: a 3-day, 2-night package that included accommodation at the Kalima Resort and Spa (Deluxe Room Sea View) and a snorkeling trip to Koh Rok and Koh Haa islands organized by Love Andaman. At the time, the package cost 5,899 baht per person.

Kalima Resort & Spa Phuket is located near Kamala Beach, approximately 10 minutes from Patong Beach. While not directly on the beach, the resort's hillside location offers stunning panoramic ocean views without any obstructions. The resort's infinity pool is a highlight, perfect for those who enjoy this style of swimming. During my stay, I primarily captured photos of the resort's overall ambiance rather than the individual rooms.

The other side of the pool is a shallow area, approximately waist-deep, with a pool bar where you can order drinks and relax in the heat.

Guests who book a Pool Access or Private Pool Villa will enjoy a stunning private infinity pool right outside their room.

On the first day, we spent the afternoon and evening playing in the pool and relaxing at the Pool Bar. We had so much fun that we lost track of time!

Deluxe Room Sea View: A Romantic Escape

The Deluxe Room Sea View, included in our booked package, is incredibly spacious. It boasts stunning ocean views, allowing you to witness breathtaking sunsets. Additionally, the room features a relaxing bathtub, perfect for a romantic evening with your significant other.

Another must-visit spot is the MALIKA TERRACE restaurant, which boasts breathtaking panoramic ocean views. The breakfast buffet is also served here, ensuring a delightful start to your day with both delicious food and stunning scenery.

Day Trip to Koh Rok

Our journey to Koh Rok began with a van pick-up from Love Andaman at our resort around 7:00 AM. (The staff will confirm the pick-up time one day in advance.) The journey to the deep-water port took approximately one hour.

After registering and receiving your wristband, a light breakfast of cookies, sandwiches, cake, tea, and coffee will be served to keep you going before departure. For those who are worried about seasickness, you can request motion sickness medication from the staff. (We each took a pill for peace of mind, so we wouldn't be throwing up in the middle of the trip and lose all our energy for diving.)

On the way to the pier, I thought I would cry because it was raining so hard that I thought I wouldn't be able to go. But! Luckily, or maybe someone secretly planted lemongrass, as soon as we got close to the pier, the rain stopped! And throughout the trip, there was no more rain at all. Yay! But there were some clouds, as shown in the picture below.

The journey to Koh Rok by speedboat takes approximately 1.30 hours, depending on the weather conditions. This is the perfect time to catch some sleep and recharge. As the guide signals that the boat is about to dock at Koh Rok, everyone can't help but get up and take some pictures. The water is incredibly clear and has a beautiful color, almost like a real swimming pool. We have been to Koh Tachai and Koh Lipe before, and in our opinion, the water here is just as clear as those two islands. It's definitely worth the almost two-hour boat ride.

After the boat docked, everyone had free time on the island to do as they pleased. Some went snorkeling, others explored the natural surroundings, and still others enjoyed a buffet lunch on the beach. Love Andaman is known for its amazing food, but we were too busy eating and swimming to take any pictures of the buffet.

On the return trip, we will stop for a swim and snorkel at the most beautiful diving spot on "Five Islands", where we encountered Nemo!

After a short boat ride, it's time to dive into the water and search for Nemo...

On the way to find Nemo, we encountered a vast multitude of small fish swimming past us.

The water is not very deep in this picture, so even if you can't swim, you don't have to worry about missing the beautiful coral here. (But be careful not to step on the coral and sea urchins.)

The crystal-clear waters surrounding Koh Rok allow for exceptional underwater visibility, even on days with overcast skies and limited sunshine.

After a short swim, we stumbled upon a nest of adorable baby clownfish.

Let's get a close-up look at Nemo!

Nemo is incredibly adorable, but please remember not to touch him.

Let's go! It's not enough! Let's join hands and follow the guide to see the beauty under the sea.

Before departing, our incredibly friendly guide volunteered to take a group photo of us as a memento. It's safe to say that the service was impeccable from the start to the end of the trip.
