...We have reached the final chapter of our journey... Starting from Chiang Mai city, we traveled to Pang Ma Pha, entered Mae Hong Son, exited Khun Yuam, and we will conclude our trip in...Hod district...

When visiting Hod District, the first attraction that comes to mind is undoubtedly Ob Luang. But where should you stay? Here are some options to consider...

Driven by a relentless pursuit of accommodation in the heart of Hod, I stumbled upon a lodging with scant reviews and only a glimpse of its natural surroundings. Yet, it exerted an irresistible allure, prompting me to eagerly secure a reservation.

...Mae Chaem Forest Park, a small house in a large forest...

The Mae Chaem Forest Park, located in the Mae Chaem district, is a forest park managed by the Forest Industry Organization. Established for the purpose of studying the ecosystem, the park covers an area of 6,932 rai and is situated just 20 kilometers from Ob Luang in the Hod district.

Therefore, this is the perfect place for us to rest before embarking on our adventure the next day. However, before checking in, let's explore the nearby attractions.

Leaving Khun Yuam, we continued on Highway 108. The curves on this road are long and winding, unlike Highway 1095 which has shorter but more frequent curves. Choose whichever you prefer, but right now, I'd like a straight road!

We finally found a rest stop. We have to stop here. I can't take it anymore! My throat is on fire. 555+++

Behold! The sunflower fields of Doi Mae Ho, conveniently located along Highway 108. If you're passing through Mae Sariang, take a detour to witness the splendor of these sunflowers without braving the winding roads to Khun Yuam (aptly named for its abundance of curves).

Her beauty is equally matched.

Leaving Doi Mae Ho, we continued driving until we reached the intersection to turn towards Mae Chaem (apologies, I can't recall the name of the intersection). Before the turn, we came across "Suan Son Bo Kaew," also known as the "Thai Nami Island." We decided to check it out and see if it lived up to its name.

I'm not sure if it's similar, but I know the scenery here is very beautiful.

Leaving Namiseom Island, or rather, Suan Son Bo Kaew, we soon reached the fork in the road leading to Mae Chaem. If you are staying at Suan Pa, turn this way. It's about 15-16 kilometers from here. It's around 3 pm now.

We planned to buy food for a picnic at the accommodation. But then, from the moment we drove out of the pine forest, there were no shops selling food at all. There were only roads, curves, forests, and... ten-wheel trucks!!

(Thinking to myself) Okay, I'll drive to the accommodation first and then drive to Hod town. But as I drove on, I felt like it was getting further and further away. There weren't even any signs for the forest park. I must be lost!

Finally, the heavens have bestowed upon us a roadside shop! They sell drinks and grilled chicken. Now, let's ask for directions!

This way is correct, we are not lost. After this curve, you will see that hill over there. The shopkeeper told me so. In short, once you turn towards Mae Chaem, just go straight. Pass through the forest, pass the curve, and don't worry. You are on the right track. 555+++

Upon arrival, I was awestruck! Choosing to stay here was the right decision. While the surrounding area was unremarkable, the moment I entered the forest garden, the experience was magical. This is not an exaggeration; it truly felt this way.

Within the Mae Chaem Forest Park, there are many single-detached houses available for rent. For those who want convenience, this place has it all! Air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, everything is complete!!

Looking from the bedroom, what more could you possibly want?

The conversation then turned to the important matter of dinner. The speaker humorously remarked that they were unsure what to eat that evening. To their delight, the staff informed them that the chef was present and inquired if they would like to have dinner, as they had not received any prior notice about their evening meal plans. Feeling as though fate was on their side, the speaker promptly replied, "Yes, please!"

Upon booking the accommodation, the staff inquired about our meal preferences. Breakfast was priced at 100 baht per person, while dinner was 150 baht per person. Confident that we wouldn't need dinner, we opted for breakfast only. However, fate had other plans for us. During our stay, we realized that there were no nearby options for purchasing food. Fortunately, the staff were incredibly accommodating, and the chef was still present.

If there is really nothing to eat, I would consider Uncle Kai Yang's restaurant. Although it is far away, it is still closer than the city of Hod.

It is delicious.

Dinner time is over. Let's go stargazing before bed.

..........................................

Good morning.

Stepping out of the room, I had to rush back in to grab my trusty companion: a shawl! The air was cool, not quite cold, with a gentle breeze.

The air is incredibly fresh. Breathe deeply and slowly, taking in the ozone. This kind of air quality is not readily available everywhere, but it's here!

After a long walk, it's time for breakfast! 🍳

This is an empty paragraph tag. It does not contain any text or formatting.

The breakfast here looks delicious! The porridge in the large cups for two people, don't ask if it's finished. 5555+++.....shhh!! I won't tell!

Bidding farewell to the forest garden, but not to you. If I ever have plans to visit Mae Chaem again, I will definitely return. A small house in a big forest...

Let's continue our journey! From Mae Chaem Forest Park to Ob Luang National Park, it's about 20 kilometers.

The Kissing Rocks: A Natural Wonder

The highlight of this location is a pair of rocks that appear to be kissing. This natural wonder, known as "Aob Luang," is a narrow passage formed by large rocks. Below, a stream flows through the channel. The name "Aob Luang" translates to "large rock channel."

Besides the main attraction, Ob Luang National Park also offers a short nature trail where visitors can learn about the park's diverse flora and fauna. This is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts!

I'm sorry, I can't translate that. It's not a sentence or phrase.

The trail is shaded by plenty of trees, making it a comfortable walk even in the heat. Despite being just two people, we felt safe with clear signage and consistent phone signal.

This is a painting by ancient humans.

The image is a photograph of a woman standing in front of a mirror. She is wearing a black dress and has her hair in a bun. The woman is smiling and looking at the camera.

Along the trail, there are signs warning against straying from the path at regular intervals. Therefore, it is imperative that we adhere to these warnings strictly.

This is called a spring.

The climb to this viewpoint requires some effort, with a short, rocky ascent.

Continuing along the path, you will reach the final point: the log pond.

The 1500-meter walk took about 2 hours, with stops at scenic spots along the way. While walking, it didn't seem that long, but when I glanced at my watch, wow! Is the path really that long?

Let's take a break and rest by the river, but don't go swimming. The current is strong and fast.

If you come here, try walking along the nature study trail. It's fun... After leaving Aob Luang, we traveled back to Bangkok...

The circular tour of Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son has come to an end! It was a blast! So much fun!

While some of these stories may be meaningful and others may not, please don't judge! Everything written here is a cherished memory that we want to share with you. P.S. We didn't ask if anyone wanted to hear it, but we wanted to tell it anyway. 555+++
