After driving around the lake yesterday, we planned to visit the Chureito Pagoda (red pagoda) this morning and then take a bus to the Kachi Kachi Ropeway and The Kawaguchiko Music Forest. However, due to clouds obscuring Mount Fuji in the late morning, we changed our plans and went to Fuji-Q Highland instead before returning to Shinjuku in the evening.
This morning, we woke up early and went out to capture the atmosphere around Kawaguchiko Station while waiting for breakfast.

This morning's breakfast has been changed from salmon to mackerel.
After checking out and leaving our luggage at the station, we headed to Kawaguchigo Station to catch a train to the Chureito Pagoda.
Waiting for the train
We took the train to SHIMOYOSHIDA Station. The train fare was 290 yen, but we used the Fuji Hakone Free Pass to enter the gate. When we arrived at SHIMOYOSHIDA Station, the staff informed us that the pass we were using was only valid up to Fuji Station. We had to pay an additional 210 yen.
From Shimoyoshida Station, it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Chureito Pagoda.
We have arrived at the entrance to Chureito Pagoda.
Upon reaching the Thoi Pole, you can park your car at the shrine. However, the road leading up to the top is currently closed to vehicles.
There are also seats to relax and enjoy the view of Mount Fuji.
We continued our ascent up the stairs, encountering a group of Thai people who had arrived before us and were just about to leave.
We have reached the base of the pagoda, where there are statues.
Let's go up and take some pictures first. There aren't many people around now.

The group continued their ascent, believing the photo spot to be further up the mountain. By the time they descended, clouds had obscured Mount Fuji. We decided to change our plans and take the train back down to Fuji-Q Highland. After paying the 1,300 yen entrance fee, we entered the park and began exploring.

The phone's battery died while taking photos, so there are no more photos from this point on.
We boarded the 4:04 PM train and retrieved our luggage at Kawaguchigo Station Inn. We then waited for the highway bus back to Shinjuku before collecting our luggage at the hotel. We had inquired and checked the bus stop beforehand, but when the time came, the bus did not arrive at the stop. Fortunately, we asked another bus that arrived, and the staff allowed us to board and transfer at Fuji-Q. The driver checked our tickets while we were boarding and disembarking. Upon arrival at Shinjuku Station, the driver collected our tickets. (The return trip took approximately 2 hours due to heavy traffic on the highway.) From Shinjuku, we took a train to Ikebukuro and checked into the Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro.
Tomorrow, we will continue our trip to Odaiba. Follow us to see more.
