Greetings! Today, I'd like to introduce you to an incredibly relaxing accommodation option. This eco-friendly lodging is situated along the serene Klong Yai Kee canal, featuring vibrant wooden houses amidst a backdrop of mangrove trees. For those who adore the beauty of the Thai sea but yearn for a tranquil escape, "Baan Makok" on Koh Kood Island in Trat province offers the perfect sanctuary.

Please follow our journey on Facebook.

We are nature lovers who enjoy relaxing, traveling, and sleeping in natural settings.
Seeing more and more people sharing their experiences at Baan Makok has made us eager to visit. We are a little envious of those who have already been there.
However, we are determined to find time to experience it ourselves one day. We want to see this place from a different perspective, one that many people wouldn't expect to find on this paradise island.

The journey from Laem Sok Pier takes approximately one hour and twenty minutes by boat. A further twenty-minute car ride will bring you to the resort, where you will be greeted by the breathtaking scenery that has been immortalized in countless films.

The resort featured in the film "Saturday Night to Sunday Morning," starring Dan and Pattie, is a small, charming, and peaceful retreat with only eight rooms, ensuring privacy and tranquility. Designed and constructed with a focus on environmental harmony, the resort utilizes reclaimed wood from old houses as its primary building material. Upon entering, the inviting beds beckon guests to jump in and roll around before drifting off to sleep amidst the soothing sounds of crickets and fish.

Nestled amidst a lush mangrove forest along a pristine canal, the accommodation offers a tranquil ambiance perfect for relaxation. The name of this hidden gem is "Baan Makok The Getaway".

Besides offering comfortable accommodation, the resort also boasts a charming restaurant where you can relax and unwind.

The menu features a diverse selection of Thai and international dishes, alongside freshly brewed coffee and chilled beers. The atmosphere is simply delightful, with stunning views and occasional passing boats. Kayaking enthusiasts frequently paddle by the resort, adding to the vibrant ambiance.

With a little stillness and focus, you can hear the fish and crabs talking to each other. This is how peaceful it is here.

As there was no TV in the room, we had to use the common room outside, which had a TV, movie CDs, and books, as well as various activities that we could do together. This made the place feel warm and cozy, like staying at a friend's house in the countryside.

In reality, we ourselves are not very fond of reading books seriously. However, the atmosphere here makes us want to pick up a book and read it. Haha.

The resort offers kayaks for guests to paddle along the canal. Alternatively, guests can paddle to Yai Ki Beach, located at the front of the resort, to enjoy the seawater. A 15-minute paddle will reveal the stunning beauty of the sea at the mouth of this river.

Paddling a kayak along the Yai Kee canal for a short while, we will be greeted by the full view of Koh Kood's sea. The scenery boasts mountains and coconut trees, with a white sandy beach and crystal-clear water where you can see the fish swimming.

However, if you reach this point and don't encounter this dog, let me tell you, you haven't truly arrived. Haha!

One of my favorite moments was showering amidst the mangrove forest. The outdoor shower behind the room was a welcome change from the usual showerheads. It had been a long time since I had scooped cool water from a clay pot and poured it over myself. The feeling was completely different from showering under a showerhead.

The tranquility of the morning is amplified at night, making the lakeside resort even more peaceful. As expected, mosquitoes are more ferocious than tigers in such an environment. However, there is no need to worry, as the resort provides herbal mosquito repellent for guests to apply.

Note: Air conditioning is available in the room.

Air conditioning will be available during specific hours, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

For those who are easily overheated, please bear with the heat. However, there is no need to worry, as there are fans in the room that can be turned on at any time.

Given the relatively cool nighttime temperatures, we opted to use only a fan.

Waking up early, we rushed to breathe in the fresh air. At first, we thought we were the earliest risers, but it turned out we were later than everyone else. Haha!

An official informed us that a car would pick us up at the resort around 11 am to take us back to the pier for our return trip.

Upon learning of our departure, we decided to relax and make the most of our remaining time at the resort.
Although it was just a one-day stay, the exhaustion from our previous journey did not linger into the present day.

Those who believe this is the perfect place to relax can find more information at https://www.facebook.com/Bannmakok. Especially during the Green Season, it's hard to imagine how beautiful it must be.

Thank you for following our little review. If there are any mistakes, please forgive us. We will introduce more tourist attractions and accommodations when we have time.
