Pantip Review https://pantip.com/topic/36683963

Last week, we had the opportunity to relax at a resort on the water of the Srinakarin Dam in Kanchanaburi Province.

This is a short stay of just one night, so I've captured the atmosphere for my friends in a compact way, in case anyone likes it or wants to experience this romantic atmosphere like us.

"Raksa Na Resort" is a unique floating hut resort located on a reservoir. Its name translates to "Freshwater Maldives of Thailand," reflecting its stunning views and serene atmosphere. Surrounded by mountains, the resort offers a tranquil escape for those seeking a relaxing getaway.

A mere three-hour drive from Bangkok via the Sri Sawat district, the resort is located approximately 80 kilometers from Kanchanaburi city. As usual, we were accompanied by the rainy season on this trip (we seem to encounter rain wherever we go these days). However, there is a silver lining: the rain keeps the air around the dam cool and pleasant, creating a uniquely relaxing atmosphere.

Upon arriving at our accommodation, we could only sit and watch the rain fall intermittently, hoping it would stop soon. We longed to experience a romantic dinner on a raft in the middle of the reservoir for our evening meal. However, if the rain continued to pour relentlessly, this activity might have to be canceled. As if our wish had been granted, after about 15 minutes of heavy rain, the sky cleared.

The resort offers three types of accommodations: family-sized houses, Maldivian-style villas, and modern rooms. The modern rooms are connected by walkways that extend over the water. We originally intended to stay in a Maldivian-style villa for its 360-degree views of the water and mountains, but unfortunately, it was fully booked.

This is our modern-style room. It may look a bit different from the other two zones, but the interior is excellent. It's not as small as you might think, and it can comfortably accommodate two people. The bathroom is clean, and the shower has a partition to prevent the floor from getting wet.

The resort also offers free activities such as kayaking, water slides, and water balloons. Another highlight is the koi pond, teeming with fish that visitors can feed. Notably, the pond is located near the entrance, making it a必經之路on the way to the rooms.

This is the Maldives zone, a highly sought-after area with stunning views that surpass other zones. However, as we visited during a holiday period without prior reservations, we were unable to secure a spot. We could only admire it from afar, vowing to return and not miss out next time.

The resort's captivating cabin-style design is further enhanced by the romantic ambiance of a dinner cruise on the reservoir. This unforgettable experience, which marks the beginning of our journey, allows guests to savor a delightful dinner on a raft while admiring the breathtaking sunset. To reserve a spot on the raft, kindly inform the staff in advance. Food orders must be placed prior to boarding. The cruise departs at 6:00 PM.

This is what the food we ordered looks like. I can't remember what it all was, except for the Mieng Pla. Haha. I can tell you that almost every guest who comes to the floating raft orders this dish, as it is considered one of the resort's signature dishes.

This was our first time having dinner in the middle of a dam. We were the only ones on the raft, and luckily the rain stopped just in time. Otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to experience this moment.

The raft will float in the middle of the dam for over an hour, stopping at this point for about half an hour. This allows us to enjoy our meal and admire the beautiful sunset, as it is the most stunning spot to witness the sun's descent.

The breathtaking view melts my heart. Everywhere I look, I am surrounded by stunning vistas of water and mountains. On lucky days, I can even witness the ethereal mist floating atop the mountain peaks.

This zone is called the **Family Zone**. The houses are larger than in other zones and consist of two adjacent cottages, making it ideal for families or groups of friends.

Given the spaciousness, let's take a peek inside the family room for a visual treat. The interior living space is incredibly vast, almost as if an entire house has been relocated here. Haha!

It's good, I want to rest, but it happens that there are only two of us, so I'm afraid we won't be able to use the space properly, so let's go to the small house to sleep, haha.

The resort features a network of interconnected wooden walkways that allow guests to easily access all areas. For those who prefer not to walk, golf carts are available on call for pick-up and drop-off, ensuring a convenient and comfortable experience.

This place is definitely worth it, even though it was just a one-night stay. If I could stay longer, I wouldn't want to go back to the city. I even thought I was really in the Maldives, haha.

The resort offers numerous spots for relaxation, and this is one of the corners we chose to sit in. It's a section of the coffee shop that provides a panoramic view of almost the entire resort.

There is also a suspension bridge called "Love Bridge".

This review is a bit confusing, even to myself. I'm still feeling a bit dizzy from the swaying of the raft. Haha! Anyway, if you're looking for a place to relax with your family, friends, or even for a romantic getaway with your partner, then you should consider coming here. I can guarantee that you'll get some hilarious photos for your social media.
