Namaste 🙏🏻 The Grean Duo is back again! Today, we're taking you on another food adventure (we eat all the time, haha). Today's a bit different… we're going to try a type of food we wouldn't normally consider, but we're curious. And that is…

Indian food!!!

TGKF Thailand

Previously, we had an experience with Indian cuisine in Taiwan that left us with a less than favorable impression, making us hesitant to try Indian food again due to the overwhelming amount of spices.
Nha-Mas-Tay! Before our visit to The Great Kabab Factory, we never thought we would be able to handle Indian food (too much spices for us).

TGKF Thailand

Our recent experience with the Indian buffet at The Great Kabab Factory has significantly altered our perspective on Indian cuisine. (#foodies, we know what's up!)

The Great Kabab Factory in Bangkok is a franchise of an Indian restaurant chain originating in India.

The chefs and staff are predominantly Indian, with only one Thai waiter encountered during our visit. This suggests a high level of authenticity in the restaurant's cuisine.

The aroma of the spice-infused chicken is incredibly enticing. 🐓😍

TGKF Thailand

The tandoor is a traditional Indian clay oven used for baking bread and roasting kababs. Reaching temperatures of up to 450 degrees Celsius, the tandoor requires careful handling due to its intense heat.

TGKF Thailand

The chefs explained their preference for using charcoal in the clay oven to bake kebabs and flatbreads. This method, they believe, allows the smoky aroma of the wood to permeate the food, enhancing its flavor and making it more appealing.

Let's see what delicious things we tried today.

Let's examine the events of that night.

1. A complimentary amuse-bouche, consisting of a thin cracker topped with yogurt and mint sauce, served as a palate cleanser before the main Indian meal. This refreshing appetizer, offered by the chef, serves as a welcoming gesture to diners.

3. Giant chicken in pandan leaf dome. The presentation is spectacular, with a giant dough dome shaped like a hedgehog. When you're ready to eat, the staff will cut it open, revealing the pandan-wrapped chicken leg. The aroma of spices is incredibly fragrant, wafting to your nose even from a distance.

The reviewer recommends pairing the dish with yogurt sauce, but personally prefers tamarind sauce for a more authentic Thai flavor. The chicken is marinated in Tandoori Masala, resulting in a tangy and aromatic flavor. The reviewer warns against eating the sweet dough surrounding the chicken, as it may not be fully cooked. (550 BAHT)
Atta Chicken: Half chicken marinated in Tandoori Masala, enclosed in sweet dough and baked. Signature dish of The Great Kabab Factory!

4. The extraordinary grilled salmon, marinated in a unique blend of four spices, is a true spectacle. Upon serving, the dish is presented with a dramatic flourish, complete with billowing smoke and an aesthetically pleasing arrangement.

2. Another sweet treat is the "Cheese with Milk and Pomegranate Seeds." At first glance, I thought it was just regular cheese like the kind we usually eat, similar to pizza cheese. However, it turned out to be something different. It has a milky, creamy texture, kind of like when you soak bread in milk. If you're looking to try something new and different, this is the dessert for you! (145 BAHT)
