Some people are born into a world where "opportunity" is a foreign concept, yet they find immense joy in their lives.

Others are constantly surrounded by "opportunity," yet they struggle to find happiness.

This has led me to question the true nature of "happiness" in our lives.

Do we spend too much time chasing things that don't bring us joy?

Are we dedicating enough time to the things that truly matter to us?

.......

Driven by the aforementioned thoughts, on a particularly idle day last month, shortly after my birthday, I decided to celebrate by engaging in my first-ever birthday activity. I resolved to spend the day doing whatever I desired, labeling the occasion "One Fine Day." It was an opportunity to indulge in my whims without overthinking, embracing a carefree and simple approach for a day.

On that morning, Little Mouse set out from home on the number 32 bus, which conveniently happened to be free. This meant she could save money and enjoy the natural air conditioning. The journey was leisurely and relaxed, with no need to rush.

The atmosphere is truly wonderful.

The destination is Sanam Luang, where the bus drops passengers off at the National Museum, which is the last stop and the closest to walk to. Let's go find something to eat first. It's eleven o'clock now. Let's go to Tha Phra Chan.

Stroll through the historical landscape, embracing the beauty of the past.

Celebrate your birthday with this menu at Aew Restaurant, Tha Phra Chan.

After enjoying a delicious meal with a riverside view, it was time to participate in the activity I had planned. I walked back from Tha Phra Chan to Thammasat University, heading to the Si Burapha Meeting Room, which serves as the Volunteer Coordination Center. Here, they offer workshops on making marigolds, and anyone interested can join every day. This was my intention for coming here. Upon entering, there was a registration table where I simply presented my ID card and received this badge, making me an official participant.

With a card in hand, find an empty table and take a seat. Your tablemates will be happy to teach you. All the necessary materials are provided. The instructors will guide you step-by-step as you work together. Soon, you'll be able to make the flowers. Each table will create different types of flowers. While working, you can chat with your tablemates. This is a great opportunity to not only make marigolds for the final tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej but also to make new friends. The shared love for His Majesty and the desire to contribute to this final tribute create a sense of camaraderie among all Thais. It's truly a joyful experience.

Some of the work is passable.

Little Mouse sat making jasmine flowers until the afternoon waned. As her house was quite far away and it would take some time to travel back, she said goodbye to her friends who were also making jasmine flowers. Additionally, she wanted to take a walk around the area and enjoy the atmosphere. The clear sky today was very inviting. From Thammasat University, Little Mouse walked towards Wat Phra Kaew first.

The Temple of the Emerald Buddha with a clear sky

That's all for today's off-campus tour.

The City Pillar Shrine: A sight worth capturing.

It's not often that I get the chance to take photos like this.

The construction of the Royal Crematorium, a process we wish would never progress.

From the front of the City Pillar Shrine, Noomlek walked around Sanam Luang back to Thammasat University again. She planned to take the Chao Phraya Express Boat back to Nonthaburi to avoid the heavy evening traffic. To get to the boat, she needed to go to the Wang Lang Pier. Before that, she wanted to take a full tour of the Phra Meru Mas inside Sanam Luang.

Standing there with a heavy heart.

The construction is not expected to be completed on schedule.
