During the recent holiday, I had the opportunity to join an off-road trip to test the performance of Chevrolet vehicles from Charoen Motor Chiang Mai. The trip took us along the scenic route from Ban Pa Nai to the summit of Doi Mon Lan, where we captured stunning photos and experienced the thrill of off-road driving. This was my second visit to Phrao, and it continues to impress me. While my previous trip during the cool winter season offered a refreshing and serene atmosphere, this rainy season adventure presented a different kind of charm, with lush greenery and a refreshing ambiance.

The off-road route starts from Chiang Mai and heads towards Chiang Dao. Stop for lunch before turning onto Mueang Phrao Road. The route follows Chiang Dao - Ban Ping Khong - Amphoe Phrao - Ban Pa Nai - Doi Mon Lan.

The route connecting Chiang Dao and Phrao districts. Traveling from Chiang Dao to approximately kilometer 82-83, there is a bridge crossing the Ping River called Ping Koeng. Then, you will find a three-way intersection at approximately kilometer 83. Turn right at the intersection onto Ping Koeng-Wiang Pa Pao Road. Continue for about 30 kilometers to reach Phrao district. The road is lined with beautiful scenery during the rainy season.

The rice fields are lush and green. If you want to experience this atmosphere, you should come at the end of August.

The small town of Phrao offers a peaceful and simple atmosphere, making it an attractive place to live.

This house is incredibly lush, situated near a city intersection. The abundance of trees and flowers is captivating. While waiting at the red light, one can enjoy the sight of birds and blossoms. The owner clearly has a deep appreciation for nature and greenery.

Lush greenery on both sides of the road

Turn left from Wat Pa Na Ni to Mae Ko Reservoir, approximately 2.8 kilometers away.

We have started our ascent up the mountain, taking the right fork towards the Mae Koeng Reservoir in Ban Pa Nai.

The road is a narrow, steep dirt track with deep potholes and is quite slippery. This route is therefore suitable for off-road vehicles.

We have arrived at the Mae Go Reservoir, located in Ban Lao, Pa Nai Subdistrict. This natural reservoir boasts stunning scenery.
