Hello, I'm back to the seaside again. I didn't know where to go, so I decided to take a short trip to Rayong. This time, I decided to spend a night in Samet. I've been there many years ago, but I've never stayed overnight. Let's see what there is to do. Let's go! In summary, the total cost of the trip was 2,200 baht per person. The vehicle for this trip was the same Vios, filled with gas.

  • Departing Bangkok at 8:00 AM, we arrived at the shores of Koh Samet by noon.
  • Embarking on a 4-island diving tour, our first stop was the stunning Koh Taloo, teeming with vibrant marine life.
  • A scenic hike of approximately 500 meters led us to a breathtaking viewpoint, offering panoramic vistas of the island.

  • We savored a delicious lunch and captured picturesque moments at Koh Kood.
  • A refreshing swim and snorkeling session awaited us at Ao Sapparot Bay.
  • Checking into our accommodation, Baan Fahsai on Haad Sai Kaew, we strolled along the pristine beach, witnessing the mesmerizing sunset.

Evening:

  • Our day culminated at the vibrant Naga Bar, where we enjoyed the lively atmosphere and delectable drinks.

A Sunday morning motorbike ride around the island, taking in the scenic viewpoints at the southern tip and various beaches, before returning across the water in the afternoon.

All photos were taken with Nikon D7200 kit18-140 fix50 and Gopro hero 4silver.

The journey began this morning at 8:00 AM. The group traveled along the motorway, turning left and heading straight to Rayong. The roads were filled with vehicles as people embarked on their journeys to various destinations. Arriving at the Samet Pier at approximately 11:00 AM, a parking fee of 100 baht was paid at the designated parking area near the pier. Subsequently, ferry tickets were purchased at 50 baht per person. As the group awaited the departure, the weather was pleasant with bright sunshine and no rain. Reaching Samet Island at noon, a landing fee of 20 baht per person was collected upon arrival.

You will then be greeted by a Koh Samet receptionist.

Public transportation options include songthaews (shared taxis) that service all beaches. Fares vary depending on the distance to each beach. Alternatively, motorbike rentals are available for those who prefer independent exploration.

We arrived at noon and planned to go on a 4-island snorkeling tour that included Koh Taluh. We rushed to ask the snorkeling tour if it had left yet, but it hadn't. We hadn't eaten lunch, so we bought 100 baht worth of meatballs to hold us over.

After that, we hired a songthaew to take us to Haad Thap Kaek for 100 baht. The distance was not too far, but we were in a hurry at that time, so we couldn't walk. Upon arrival at Haad Thap Kaek, we had to pay an additional 40 baht per person for the national park entrance fee. Keep your ticket safe, or you might have to pay again. Haha, we spent a lot in a short time.

The boat departed from Haad Sai Kaew beach. I forgot to mention that our accommodation was located right on Haad Sai Kaew beach, just 100 meters before the entrance to the national park. We stopped by to drop off our bags.

The 4-island snorkeling tour, including Ko Ta Lu, Ko Ku Ti, and 2 other spots, costs 600 baht per person. The tour was on a speedboat. As soon as we got on the boat, we didn't have a chance to take any pictures. The boat was very fast and bumpy, making us feel nauseous and dizzy. We held on to the iron railings for a while until we arrived at Ko Ta Lu. However, we didn't get any pictures of Ko Ta Lu because the boat was so fast that we couldn't even lift our cameras to take pictures. It was something I didn't like very much. Every time I go on a speedboat, it's always so bumpy. Usually, if I go snorkeling, I choose a tour that uses a large wooden boat or a long-tail boat. I don't like speedboats at all, but this time I didn't have a choice, so I had to go.

The water is a beautiful, clear green.

The crowd is quite large.

Upon arrival, we immediately embarked on a hike up the hill to the scenic viewpoint of Ko Talu.

The trail is not difficult at all. If the guide says it's a long walk, don't believe them! Haha. They initially said it was far, but it only took about 10 minutes to get there, and I wasn't even tired yet.

Upon exiting, a vast and distant seascape unfolds before you.

The left side is a beautiful mountain range.

This is a truly stunning viewpoint on Ko Ta Lu. If you visit the island, be sure to make the climb, as most tourists don't venture here and guides don't typically recommend it. I discovered it myself and asked a guide to lead me there.

Return to the beach.

Koh Tabu offers excellent snorkeling opportunities right off the beach.

This place is teeming with fish.

Abundant fish populate the shallow waters, reaching depths of nearly waist-high.

After leaving Koh Taluh, we stopped for lunch at Koh Guti.

The food was average fried rice with a dessert that had a neutral flavor.

This island offers nature trails, but we didn't explore them extensively due to time constraints.

A tree with a curved shape

The path is very rocky and sharp, please walk carefully.

The atmosphere here is pleasant, and it's not too crowded.

We then went snorkeling at two more spots.

Jumping.

The water is a bit murky, making underwater photography difficult.

We then disembarked again at another location, the name of which I can't recall. However, this place was bustling with people.

There was also a snorkeling trip to Pineapple Bay, but there wasn't much to see underwater. There were sea urchins, so be careful in some areas. The coral is shallow in some places. I didn't see it and stepped on a sea urchin with my foot. It stung like a needle and I got two spines. It hurt like something was biting me, but it wasn't poisonous. After a few days, the sea urchin spines will dissolve on their own.

We arrived back at the shore around 5 pm as planned. I was limping slightly, my feet sore, as we made our way to our accommodation at Baan Fahsai. The room rate on the day we went was 1,000 baht.

The room is a decent size and clean, although not particularly new. There is no view, but the bed is very comfortable and the air conditioning is excellent. The best part is the location: there is a 7-Eleven right in front and the beach is just a short walk away. It's a great location without being noisy or crowded.

Across from the accommodation is a 7-Eleven and a restaurant. This restaurant belongs to the older brother of a close Vios car group. It turned out that I didn't know at first that the accommodation would be right opposite his shop. We often meet, but we never met in Samaed.

If you're passing by Sai Kaew Beach on Koh Samet, be sure to stop by this restaurant. "A-Im Aroy Dee" offers delicious food created by Chef Lung Bua at affordable prices. It's conveniently located near the entrance of the national park's toll booth.

After dinner, I went to Hat Sai Kaew to watch the evening lights.

As you walk along, you will come across a large restaurant with many people sitting inside. At 8 pm, there is a fire show.

The show lasted for over half an hour, giving the audience a full and satisfying experience.

Excellent play!

And the grand finale of the show was a fire-twirling performance in the sea. This was the first time I had seen it up close, and I was hit by several sparks.

The object is too close to capture the whole picture.

After watching the fire show, continue walking to the end of the beach and turn right onto the road. Walk up the hill a bit and you will find Naga bar, a bar with an atmosphere similar to a full moon party. Once you arrive, choose your favorite color to paint and don't forget to wear reflective clothing so you can shine brightly.

After enjoying the vibrant colors, we walked back to our accommodation, which was a short and comfortable walk. The area was well-populated, so we felt safe. Upon reaching our accommodation, we enjoyed a comfortable night's sleep with the air conditioning keeping us cool.

This morning, I took my time and relaxed, packing my belongings and leaving my accommodation in the late morning. I planned to explore the island on a motorbike, returning in the afternoon. Renting a motorbike was relatively expensive on the island, but after negotiating, I managed to rent one for 3 hours at 250 baht per bike. This was a better option than taking a shared taxi, which would have been more expensive if I visited multiple islands.

We arrived at our first stop and were looking for breakfast when we came across a street vendor selling grilled chicken and papaya salad. We decided to eat there near Ao Phai Bay.

Let's check the map and see where we should go next.

After finishing my meal, I rode my motorbike to various points of interest. I didn't stop at every beach, but I did visit the ones that seemed appealing.

Arriving at the viewpoint at the end of the island or the sunset viewpoint

The expansive view is truly breathtaking.

There is a mountain ridge similar to the viewpoint at Ko Talu yesterday, but this one is much longer.

Yesterday, my niece volunteered to take me on a tour of Koh Samet in exchange for a trip to Ao Phai.

Can I have some action too?

Ride in, I can't remember the name, sorry. If you have time, you can visit every beach.

The last stop is Ao Phrao. Come, girls, let's play in the water.

The first wave was great, there weren't many people in this bay.

They say that the accommodation at Ao Phrao is very expensive, but I don't know how much it costs.

Having fun playing in the water.

The girls look lively when they are wet.

Just kidding, there's also a sexy face.

A young man from Khon Kaen played in the water for two days, resulting in red arms and neck. After playing for a while, the children were satisfied, and it was time to go home.

We went back to take a shower, returned the motorbike, and then waited for the ferry to cross back together.

The return trip cost 50 baht per person, and we arrived safely on the other side. We came to the sea during the rainy season, but we didn't see a single drop of rain. We returned home safely, ending our short two-day, one-night trip.
