This trip was inspired by a desire to experience the beauty of Phu Sao, a mountain in Thailand. The goal was to do so in a cost-effective manner, as the group frequently travels and had already explored options offered by other tour organizers, whose prices were deemed too high. The decision was made to embark on a self-organized trip, with four participants who were previously unacquainted but connected through Facebook and shared an interest in the excursion.

Train journey begins. Train number 51, Bangkok-Chiang Mai, stops at Phitsanulok. Departure time is 10:00 PM. Third-class fan car. Ticket price is 218 baht.

The first problem arose when we realized that the tickets we had purchased were for the wrong month. We were traveling on July 21st, but the station agent had mistakenly issued tickets for August 21st. Fortunately, we were not kicked off the train, but it was a close call.

Upon arriving in Phitsanulok, we were approached by numerous taxi drivers offering rides to the bus station. However, as we were traveling as a group of four, the quoted price of 3,500 baht for a round trip was too expensive. Instead, we opted to take a local bus to Chat Trakan for 84 baht per person.

We were lucky to find fellow travelers at the bus station, and we shared a car to the national park for 1600 baht round trip. With eight people, it cost 200 baht per person. We also stopped at the market to buy food, which cost 520 baht for five people, or 104 baht per person. (Another person who joined us for the food cost was someone we met along the way.) Hiking gave us more than we expected. We made new friends and formed new bonds that we had never experienced before.

Upon arrival at the park, a fee will be collected. A garbage deposit is required, but if you bring your garbage down with you, the deposit will be refunded. The park will provide a shuttle service to the starting point of the hike (free of charge).

We reached the summit as the sun began to set, as we had chosen not to carry our own belongings and had not hired any porters. We walked at a leisurely pace.

The next morning, I took a picture of the Celosia argentea flower.

After breakfast, we walked down to the waterfall and then ran down, taking 1.5 hours. After that, we took a shower and prepared to return to Bangkok. We traveled by bus,สมบัติทัวร์, a sleeper bus for 309 baht. We arrived in Bangkok around 5 am...

Note: There are many pictures, but I don't know which ones to include.

As you can see, the trip to Phu Soi Dao is not as difficult as you might think.

Summary of Expenses:

* Train fare: 218 baht * Bus fare to Chat Trakan: 168 baht * Roundtrip taxi fare to the park: 200 baht * Park entrance fee: 40 baht, tent rental: 35 baht * Food: 104 baht * Bus fare back to Bangkok: 309 baht
**Total expenses per person: 1074 baht**
