Pause time, release your mind, rest your body at Baan Kokkod.
"Release yourself and your mind to nature,
Longing to stay still and spend time with yourself,
Let the water, trees, and wind be your companions to relieve loneliness,
Recharge and energize yourself at Baan Kokkod."
This trip, Adi wanted to relax after working hard all year. Before he knew it, it was already September, and the end of the year was just a few months away. Time really flies. So he opened his computer to find a place to recharge his batteries. After a while, he came across a post from a friend who had been to Baan Kokkod. This place was perfect for what he was looking for at the moment, so he immediately picked up his phone and called to make a reservation. Luckily, there was a room available on the date he wanted.
We set off on our journey during a light rain, which made the weather pleasant and not too hot. We drove slowly and leisurely. Baan Kokkod is only 175 km from Bangkok. Baan Kokkod is a small resort with a limited number of rooms, but it is surrounded by beautiful nature. With its location on the waterfront, it offers stunning views of the mountains and lush greenery. The atmosphere around the resort, whether in the rooms, the restaurant, or the lounge areas, is decorated with natural materials in perfect harmony. As soon as we arrived at the resort, we checked in so that we would have time to walk around and take pictures of the resort.
The lobby is beautifully designed.
Baan Kokkod offers 8 types of accommodation:
- Wooden cottage
- Lakeside house
- Dam view house
- Stargazing house
- Riverside house (1 bedroom)
- Riverside house (2 bedrooms)
- Phruksa house
- Glamping tent
Please note that Wi-Fi is not available at Baan Kokkod. However, there is good mobile phone signal for those with 4G. This location is not suitable for those seeking a lively atmosphere with loud gatherings. Baan Kokkod prioritizes a peaceful and quiet environment. Therefore, guests are kindly requested to refrain from making loud noises after 10:00 PM to ensure a relaxing experience for all visitors amidst the beautiful natural surroundings.
The path to the guest rooms is shaded by lush green trees, offering numerous photo opportunities to capture the ambiance.
The path leads past the wooden signpost, where visitors can write their own messages and hang them as souvenirs. The resort offers free wooden signs, which can be obtained from the restaurant. Continuing past the restaurant, we reached our room, which boasted a fantastic atmosphere and beautiful surroundings.
The room we booked was a "Room with a Dam View" for 1,498 baht (including VAT), which can accommodate two people and includes breakfast. Adiva loves rooms by the dam the most because of the great atmosphere. It is located by the water with a view of the mountains. Even though there is no private bathroom or air conditioning, it is not a problem for Adi, who is a laid-back person. Let's see how relaxing it can be.
The room is beautifully decorated and has a comfortable seating area where you can relax and enjoy the breeze.
The original text describes a scene where someone is enjoying the beautiful view from their hotel room. They are so captivated by the scenery that they don't want to leave. The text then suggests taking a shower after a long drive.
Here's the translated version:
Gazing at the breathtaking view from my hotel room, I'm tempted to stay put and soak it all in. After a long drive, a refreshing shower beckons.
The bathroom is located a short distance from the guest rooms. It is a shared bathroom, but it is separated by gender.
The bathroom is clean and usable.
Let's head back to our room and get ready for dinner.
This evening's dinner was a set menu served on a traditional Thai dining table called a "khantoke" for 450 baht for two people. The menu was enticing, featuring steamed sea bass with lime, panang curry, fried chicken, winter melon soup, chili paste with fresh vegetables, and steamed rice. The food was beautifully presented on the khantoke. We had originally planned to enjoy our meal outdoors on the veranda, but the weather had other plans. Rain began to fall in the late afternoon, forcing us to move inside. The rain also brought an influx of flying ants, making outdoor dining less appealing.
How about our dinner? Looks delicious, doesn't it?
The rain ruined our outdoor plans, so we had to move inside instead.
Adiplan woke up early to watch the sunrise, around 6 am. However, it is the rainy season now, so there is a lot of fog. The fog blocked the sun, so we couldn't see the sunrise. But what made up for it was the beauty of the morning fog against the water and mountains. It was a morning view that was definitely worth waking up for.
The morning atmosphere in front of the guest room. Let's go for a walk at the scenic bridge. There are 2 bridges here, let's walk the first bridge in front of the restaurant first.
The same angle but in the morning is beautiful in another way.
Breakfast is served at 7:00 AM, prepared by our housekeepers.
Along the walkway, there are chairs with inspiring messages engraved on their backrests.
Taking a picture with a lantern in the morning mist.
Another cool message on the chair.
Walk to the end of the bridge, where you can stroll or relax and enjoy the stunning views. The air is incredibly refreshing.
As we walked to the end of the bridge and looked back at our accommodation, it was no surprise why it was named "Baan Kok Kot" (House Embraced by Reeds). The abundance of reeds surrounding the property created a sense of being enveloped in nature, providing a constant source of freshness and tranquility.
Let's walk to the other side of the viewing bridge. This bridge will be a free boat service parking lot. Anyone who wants to row a boat can get a paddle and a life jacket next to the dining room.
Living a slow and relaxed life feels inexplicably good.
Come this way if you want to go boating.
The breathtaking view of the resort truly embraces us.
Flowers by the bridge add a touch of freshness to the pleasant morning atmosphere.
After walking all night, I'm starting to feel hungry. Let's go get some breakfast.
Breakfast is served as a set, including rice porridge and coffee or Ovaltine. Guests can help themselves to as much as they like.
Breakfast with a view like this is the ultimate indulgence.
Let's eat and then go upstairs to relax and enjoy the beautiful view.
After relaxing for a while, we went for a walk and took some photos around the resort. There are many beautiful corners to capture.
The Prueksa house has a beautiful garden in front of the room.
The Baan Pruksa area has a seating zone for you to relax in.
The territorial goose, with a fierce look, has tried to peck me several times. I was both excited and scared while filming.
The upper level of the house has a seating area where you can relax and stargaze.
Glamping tent
Let's go back and pack our things to prepare for our return.
