"Let's go, let's go, let's go!" was the first reaction after seeing photos of Hong Kong on Instagram. I thought to myself, "I have to go there no matter what." It was so beautiful, stylish, and cool, I couldn't believe I could find a place like that.

The unseen destination we'll be visiting today is the High Island Reservoir East Dam, located on the eastern side. The reservoir is so vast that it's divided into two sections. We'll explore the western side on another occasion. This location is renowned for its camping and stargazing opportunities. Stay tuned for more!

The journey is quite far from the city center, but it is worth it! Starting from taking the train to Diamond Hill station, then taking bus no. 96R for almost an hour to reach Sai Kung town. Then take a taxi to save time walking 9 km. If you have a lot of energy, you can walk and exercise.

The taxi ride took almost half an hour, with many curves. However, the experienced driver navigated them smoothly. After a half-hour ride in the air conditioning, it was time to get out and walk.

Stepping onto the ground, the heat was immediately felt. While walking down to the front of the dam, I tried to find a large tree to hide under to avoid the heat and eat the lunch I had packed in my backpack. After all, an army marches on its stomach.

Upon reaching the dam, visitors encounter a popular spot among Hong Kong hipsters. The massive, imposing structure, known as T/H-shaped dolosse blocks, serves as a backdrop for countless photographs.

These should be kept for future use.

From the main dam, walk back into the secondary dam zone, which acts as a buffer zone between saltwater and freshwater.

The sentence is already in English and does not require translation.

Along the way, you will see various hexagonal rock columns, which are 140 million years old.

Continue walking along the path until you reach a cave at the end on the right-hand side. This is the source cave, but you cannot pass through it yet.

Looking back towards the dam, you'll see this view. Cool, right everyone?

Upon closer inspection, it was revealed to be a pit intended for planting trees.

After taking enough photos, it's time to head back. It's best to leave before four o'clock, otherwise the queue for taxis will be long.

If you have the opportunity to follow in our footsteps, don't forget to share your photos with us. We'd love to see different perspectives and cool angles. For now, we're signing off!
