HONG KONG - MACAU

Budget under 13,000 baht (detailed review)

Focus on sightseeing and saving money, not on food.

This is a 7-day, 6-night trip to Hong Kong.

Wow! 7 days? Why 7 days? Isn't 7 days in Hong Kong too much?

Yes, it has been a long time. What did you do for 7 days? Why did you go for 7 days?

Due to the AirAsia 0 baht promotion period.

Upon browsing, I discovered that booking in advance can significantly reduce costs.

This translates to:

So we got it for 2,668 baht each. Wow!! That's really cheap.

I've never seen such a good deal. I was actually planning to go alone.

I decided to ask a friend to join me, and they agreed to come along.

Two people made a reservation, which is considered a cross-year reservation.

(This price does not include baggage fees.)

7 days where to go, so I tried to find out and concluded that:

We will go to Hong Kong, climb the mountain, go to the island in Hong Kong, and go to Macau for 2 days and 1 night.

Seven days is not enough to explore everything.

After securing your flight tickets and finalizing your itinerary,

A few weeks before the trip, we started booking accommodation.

We used Agoda to find accommodation in Hong Kong.

The most affordable option with the best-looking room in the photos.

This trip is not about fine dining or eating well at every meal. We simply want to eat whatever we feel like.

Although I packed snacks in my suitcase, I ended up mainly eating instant noodles and convenience store snacks.

●7 days 6 nights

Day 1: Secure provisions, settle into accommodation, and prepare for tomorrow's adventures.

Day 2: Avenue of Stars (but it was closed), Clock Tower, Victoria Peak.

Day 3: Dragon's Back

Day 4: Po Toi Island, Mong Kok

Day 5: Macau - Ruins of St. Paul's, Macau Tower

Day 6: The Venetian Macau

Day 7: Tsim Sha Tsui

(We originally planned to take the cable car to worship the Big Buddha Nong Ping 360 on the 7th, but it was closed during our visit. This was the biggest disappointment, as we were determined to go if we came to Hong Kong. 😭)

The cost of the machine is 2,668 baht.

The room we booked at City Guest House was much smaller than it appeared in the photos. The bed took up most of the space, leaving barely any room to move around. It was so small that we couldn't even open our suitcases without blocking the doorway.

● Things to know

- Not all the food seen in various reviews is as delicious as one might think.

  • While there are many food reviews, the actual availability of food along the trail may not be as abundant as imagined.

- Food is very expensive.

- Convenient transportation

  • Delicious sushi, haha.
  • For non-branded stores, you can bargain almost half the price.

- The room is so small that you can step right onto the bed.

  • 7 days is truly worth it.

If you ask what I did for 7 days, 3 days would be enough. There wasn't much to do.

The reason for the seven-day trip was to make the most of the opportunity to travel for an extended period.

Why go for a short while? When you leave, you will regret it.

Sigh! Back already? Time flies when you're having fun. Next time, let's make the most of it.

We don't have the opportunity or time to fly often, so when we do, we make the most of it and get our money's worth.

The first day has finally arrived. I am incredibly excited.

Departs from Don Mueang at 3:30 PM, arrives in Hong Kong at 7:20 PM.

Upon setting foot in Hong Kong, the first thing I noticed was the cold. The temperature was extremely low.

Upon exiting the airport, you will find an Airport Express counter where you can purchase an OCTOPUS card.

This card is incredibly convenient, as it can be used on trains, buses, in stores, and even at 7-Eleven.

If you take the train, you will also get a discount. The starting price is 150 dollars, with a 50 dollar deposit.

This means that we can use 100 coins on the card, but when we return, we can return the card to get the deposit back.

However, there may be a small fee of around 10 dollars, but compared to the convenience, it is worth it.

The train discounts are incredibly worthwhile. In fact, it's highly recommended to top up your card with a significant amount, as you'll undoubtedly utilize it frequently.

Or if it runs out, you can refill it at 7-Eleven.

The bus we took was the A21 line, which cost 33 dollars per person.

The bus ride was incredibly affordable.

However, we do not recommend taking the Airport Express due to its high cost of 100 USD (500 THB).

This is the building we stayed in, based on the reviews I read, everyone was scared. 55

Contrary to popular belief, the guests who approached us were not intimidating. They simply wanted to introduce us to their available rooms.

If you say "no" repeatedly and state that you have already made a reservation, the vendor will typically leave you alone. They primarily approach tourists who are visibly carrying luggage.

If they haven't come in on other days, then…

Our room was originally booked as a small room, but the shower in the small room we booked was broken.

We were upgraded to a family room for free, which was huge and incredibly comfortable.

[Spoiler] Click to reveal hidden textThe bathroom is very small, but it is not inconvenient. It is considered acceptable.

Stand still to take a shower.

On the second day, we will focus on walking around the Tsim Sha Tsui area first.

Our initial plan was to visit the Avenue of Stars.

I couldn't find the entrance, so I asked an old man, and he told me it was closed!

The first attempt failed. Feeling disappointed, I decided to take a walk and take some pictures nearby. As I walked, I came across a clock tower.

Shop Name: Hui Lau Shan

The ultimate mango store.

As we ambled aimlessly, we stumbled upon St. Andrew's Church.

This is the place to be.

The cheesecake at Guschlbauer is delicious.

Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop

Everything is truly delicious, you must pin it, I tell you.

The price is reasonable, making it easy to share with friends and enjoy a comfortable meal.

It is recommended to take a taxi, which is affordable.

If you take the MTR, get off at Kowloon Station.

Free Wi-Fi is ubiquitous.

After we finished eating, we decided that

Time is on our side, so let's head to Victoria Peak for some stunning views.

Victoria Peak

We took the train to Central Station.

The bus stop for route 15 is conveniently located right at the pier.

Initially, we planned to ride the iconic train that everyone raves about. We were told to take line 15C.

In order to continue, I purchased a train ticket. However, I was unable to locate the bus stop. Fortunately, I encountered a bus driver who was able to assist me.

We asked them, and they told us to take line 15. We said we wanted to take line 15C, but she just shook her head.

We took the bus up to Victoria Peak.

On the way back, we took a bus back to the original place to return to our accommodation, which is in Tsim Sha Tsui.

However, we opted to return by boat. Our bus will conveniently stop right by the pier.

Enjoy the view in a different way.

Today, we are going to Dragon's Back.

A scenic and breathtaking location for hiking and enjoying panoramic views.

The cool air makes walking comfortable. You can walk for a long time without getting tired. You should definitely go, you won't regret it.

We took the MTR to Shau Kei Wan Station.

Transfer to bus route 9 and take a short ride, approximately 20 minutes, to reach the Trail Start point to begin your hike up the Dragon's Back.

It is recommended to purchase water and snacks before boarding the bus, as there are no shops or vendors selling anything at the destination.

It is recommended to use the restroom before going upstairs, as there are no restrooms available on the upper level.

The path is smooth.

Some stairs.

The road is sometimes steep.

The view is breathtaking. If you have the opportunity to visit, you will not be disappointed.

After descending the mountain, we returned to the bus we had boarded earlier.

Line 9, we disembarked at the same pier we boarded, continuing forward until the end of the line. Then, we arrived at the sea here.

The sea here is very peaceful.

The attire of visitors is unusual, as most people come here in their work clothes.

As if I just got off work, how could there be something like this?

Our third day has come to an end.

(Stay tuned for our next post on Hong Kong-Macau.)

Thank you for following the first three days.
