Koh Mak, here I come!

Welcome back, everyone! Today, we're taking a trip to... an island getaway!

As my partner wishes to take their family on a Songkran trip,

"Tired of playing with water and powder in the city, we decided to go to the beach instead…"

I eagerly joined my friends, trailing closely behind them.

We traveled by private car, departing from Samut Prakan in the early morning hours.

Our coordinates are at Laem Sok Pier, the starting point for speedboats.

We arrived at Laem Sok Pier around 9 am. There is a car park service available here for 50 baht/car per night.

After dropping off our group members at Laem Sok Pier and unloading our luggage, a motorbike taxi driver took us to our parking spot.

A safe and secure ride for only 20 baht.

Ready to embark on a journey...

The speedboat costs 900 baht per person, round trip.

The journey from the pier to Koh Mak takes approximately one hour.

Savoring the salty sea breeze, we sat, faces sticky with delight.

An hour flew by in the blink of an eye....

And so we have arrived at…

Oh, I forgot to mention! We stayed at "Koh Mak Coco Cape," a trendy and famous resort on Koh Mak.

The reason I chose this place is because of the bar in the middle of the water. I wanted to come and experience it for myself.

And then the accommodation's car arrived…

** **

A vintage double-decker bus with a 99% vintage rating.

The shocking incident needs no further explanation. When they hit a pothole, they were thrown in different directions.

It was fun and realistic. Haha.

And finally, we arrived at Koh Sawan, the paradise beach we had been searching for...

We have booked a total of 3 rooms.

Two mountain view rooms (2 guests per room) and one large houseboat (sleeps 6 guests together)

The cost of this trip is 5,000 baht per person.

(Accommodation + meals + drinks + speedboat fees + diving fees + boat fees to Koh Kham)

The resort also has Songkran activities planned…

Sand mounds were built and a pavilion was constructed for bathing the Buddha statue, bringing good fortune to tourists.

In addition, there were soft drinks waiting for us upon arrival, including refreshing pandan leaf water to quench our thirst.

The provided text is empty. There is nothing to translate.

A relaxing dining area with a stunning sea view is also available.

The atmosphere was electric, to say the least.

I snuck a peek at a beachfront room. I don't remember the price, but I think it was affordable...

Upon closer inspection, you will notice houses cleverly concealed among the trees.

It is said that the view from above is excellent. However, as the saying goes, beauty comes at a price. Haha.

As for our room... I didn't take any pictures, haha.

The reason is that… we were so busy taking pictures that we forgot… we had to take a boat to Koh Kham.

Driven by urgency, they packed their bags and rushed to the pier.

When I returned to film again, the room was in a mess.

This is arguably the highlight of Koh Mak Coco Cape.

A wooden bridge stretching out into the sea, complete with a bar serving drinks, is incredibly cool.

Let's go to Koh Kham… If you don't go, it's like you haven't arrived.

The boat transfer and island maintenance fee is 250 baht per person.

Let's board the ship now....

Upon arrival, a quintessential Thai experience: taking a photo with a sign.

White sand beaches, fine and smooth, captivating and mesmerizing.

Crystal clear water like glass... Coconut trees lined up in rows... A sight to behold...

Crystal clear...indeed! How can the water be so clear!!!!

Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.

After playing in the water, relax on the sandy beach.

The 250 baht fee includes a can of water per person, either plain or flavored.

Additionally, instant noodles are available for those who might still be hungry.

Exhausted from swimming, it was time to return to shore. We called for a boat to pick us up at the beach and take us back to the bar as usual.

It is noticeable that even after returning to Koh Mak, the water remains crystal clear.

The bar area features wooden hammocks for those who want to sunbathe, relax, or enjoy a beer.

The first day at the bar, let's go with this picture.

You can probably imagine what happens next. Haha.

Drink it all... then wake up to take photos, even if you're hungover.

Woke up early this morning to capture photos without other people in the background.

The poolside rooms also have accommodations available on the opposite side.

Bask in the morning sun... it's truly refreshing and invigorating.

The wooden bridge in the absence of people is so quiet that it is fascinating....

The opportunity is ours...

This pavilion is reserved.

This area is abundant with squid during the late rainy season and early winter. They can be caught and eaten fresh.

Activities are diverse, including kayaking, sailing, and diving. Choose the one that suits your preference.

One more angle...

Wake up! Wake up! It's time to go swimming!

After completing the photo shoot, it was time to wake up the team for some water fun.

Before we went swimming, we had breakfast at the resort. The resort had a large buffet spread with both Thai and Western options. We ate like there was no tomorrow. Don't ask about the photos of the food line, because we were too busy eating to take any.

Spacious and expansive pool. Wow, so clean!

Stunning view...perfect for striking a pose.

After playing in the water, we took a break for lunch at the resort's kitchen.

I recommend the spicy mixed stir-fried basil with rice, a large dish with a truly fiery kick.

The long-awaited moment to dive, see fish, and admire coral reefs has finally arrived!

The resort's shuttle will take us to the pier, where we will embark on a snorkeling adventure to explore the coral reefs of Koh Kra, Koh Yai, and Koh Rang.

Before boarding the ship, I was slightly apprehensive about the wind and storms. This was because heavy rain had fallen just before we boarded.

As the old saying goes, "There's always sunshine after the rain."

The morning divers left early due to the storm, leaving the afternoon remarkably peaceful and free from other tour groups. The water was crystal clear, offering unobstructed views of the surroundings.

Let the picture speak for itself, because if you ask me, I wouldn't remember.

From which islands were these photos taken?

The officer... was very kind. He helped those who couldn't swim and even cleared the sea urchins for them.

Sea cucumber... It was near the rocks, and the officer was afraid we would step on it, so he picked it up for us.

We captured the moment with a photograph before releasing it back into the wild.

The coral reefs are stunning and teeming with life. However, be cautious of sea urchins.

Ultimately, the most important thing about diving is safety. Life jackets must be worn at all times, equipment must be ready, and practice using the snorkel. If you don't know how to use it, the staff will teach you the basics… and most importantly, you should not be intoxicated. I don't need to tell you why. If you can do this, you will be safe and enjoy your dive.

After diving, we returned to the accommodation. The boat trip and diving took about 2-3 hours.

After showering and having dinner, it's time to end the night at our bar by the water...

Let the picture tell the story.

A feeling like being in the Maldives (I asked if he had ever been to the Maldives… Oh!!! No, I've only seen it on the web, haha)

A kind foreigner caught some squid for us, and we ate it fresh with wasabi sauce.

No need to ask for pictures again, as usual. Eating faster than light, haha!

One guitar is enough...

If you ask me what I like about Koh Mak...

I'd be glad to translate the sentence:

Original:

ผมชอบน้ำที่โคตรจะใส ผมชอบความสงบ ซึ่งขนาดผมไปช่วงสงกรานต์…

I love the crystal-clear water. I appreciate the tranquility, even though I visited during Songkran…

The accommodation is fully booked, but it is very quiet.

I love the beautiful Koh Mak Coco Cape, a paradise on the island...

I love the floating bars, they look super cool.

I am a journalist and translator. I am very proficient in academic English and will translate the sentence from Thai to English while maintaining a formal academic style.

I am fascinated by the pristine coral reefs and the diverse array of small fish.

It is so perfect that I don't want many people to visit here for fear of disturbing or destroying it.

And most importantly, what is indispensable...

"My fellow travelers… without them, I wouldn't have these stories to write about."

Thank you all for watching.

And we shall meet again...
