Four Hands Dinners
November 22-25, 2017
Greetings!
The Chew Terrace Italian restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is hosting a Four Hands Dinners set dinner from now until November 25, 2017. The special meal is created by two young chefs imported from Italy: Chef Domenico Francone from Sala dei Grappoli, which is ranked among the top 100 restaurants in Italy this year, and Chef Marcello Scognamiglio, the new head chef of Chew Terrace.
The open-air dining area, though not expansive, offers breathtaking views of the Chao Phraya River, a sight of unparalleled beauty.
Food and beverage items for this promotion
On November 25th, there will be a special menu of food and beverages available.
The sentence is already in English and does not require translation.
Today, Ronaldo had the opportunity to dine at the chef's table, where he could enjoy the meal and observe the chefs' work up close, feeling like part of a world-class kitchen.
‘Amuse bouche’
A delightful bite-sized morsel, the amuse bouche features a soft and delicate bread that melts in your mouth. The savory filling boasts a rich, salty, and buttery flavor that leaves you wanting more.
Snack bread
The first two dishes will be special menus by guest chef Domenico.
‘Crispy egg with tomato concasse, spinach, and Pecorino foam’
The perfectly runny yolk boasts no eggy aftertaste, while the thin, crispy coating melts away effortlessly. The soft, salty spinach and the sweet and sour tomatoes add depth to the dish, while the cheese foam provides a smooth texture and a distinct, yet subtle, cheese flavor. Overall, this is a light and refreshing dish that is perfectly balanced and delicious.
‘Duck ravioli on pumpkin cream and black truffle’
This dish is visually appealing with its small ravioli. The thin, smooth dough wraps the filling perfectly, avoiding any thick spots. The savory filling is smooth and tender, with a slightly salty flavor. The creamy pumpkin adds sweetness, while the tender, flavorful duck meat provides a satisfying texture. The dish is finished with luxurious black truffle, creating a rich and aromatic experience. Overall, the dish is incredibly flavorful and well-balanced.
The final two dishes will be prepared by the host chef, Chef Marcelo.
Veal Loin in Tomato Bread Crust with Pan-Fried Escarole
A thick-cut veal loin, perfectly cooked to a tender and juicy state, is coated in a light, crispy bread crust seasoned with a subtle savory note. This delectable dish is accompanied by pan-fried escarole, a leafy green, sautéed with olives, capers, and raisins, creating a harmonious blend of salty, tangy, and sweet flavors. The rich and aromatic gravy adds a classic touch, enhancing the overall experience without overpowering the delicate veal. While the veal itself is undoubtedly the star of the show, the accompanying escarole offers a unique and unexpected twist, showcasing the chef's creativity and culinary expertise.
‘Traditional limoncello Babà Napoletano’
A beautiful and refreshing dessert featuring a variety of berries, topped with a sugar sheet, cream, and finally, Babà cake.
It is recommended to eat everything in one bite to enjoy the fluffy texture of the cake, the rich and creamy lemon cream with a distinct sour and sweet taste that is not greasy or overpowering, followed by a sugar sheet that provides a delicate crunch without any sticky residue, making it an outstanding element. Finish with fresh berries for a touch of natural freshness. This is a dessert that is intensely flavorful with a simple yet sophisticated touch, providing a refreshing end to the meal.
Chef Domenico resides at the Sala dei Grappoli restaurant, located within the renowned Castello Banfi, one of Tuscany's most celebrated wineries. Accordingly, the chef presents a selection of Banfi wines.
Indulge in a culinary experience that transports you to the renowned Sala dei Grappoli, a restaurant consistently ranked among the top 100 in Italy.
Crafted with deliciousness by two friendly and cheerful chefs.
The special dinner set seen in this review is priced at 2,150++ baht. For example, a steak menu at a regular mall restaurant usually costs around 1,000 to 1,200 baht, so the remaining dishes only cost around 300 baht, which is no different from a regular mall restaurant. However, what we will receive is a completely different story. With Chao Terrace in a beautiful open riverside atmosphere, world-class service from Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, you can rest assured. As for the special menu Four Hands Dinners, it is beautifully decorated, with fresh and clean premium ingredients. The taste is outstanding, with a distinct aroma, rich and well-balanced flavors, and a variety of textures that cover all dimensions. Come and experience the culinary skills of Chef Domenico Francone and Chef Marcelo Scognamiglio every dinner from today until November 25, 2017 only.
Thank you very much.
