"Lhong 1919"

A Brief History of the Area

This area has been significant since the reign of King Rama IV, when it served as the "Huay Chung Leng" steamship port. This port was used by steamships, as passenger and cargo vessels at that time used firewood as fuel.

Chinese immigrants arrived by sea to trade or settle in Thailand.

In addition, the area was a center for trade and warehousing of imported goods.

Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.

The former steamship port and old warehouses of the Huang Li family, despite the passage of time and the inevitable wear and tear, still retain their original Chinese architectural style. Even after 167 years, their historical significance remains undiminished.

The architectural and artistic heritage of the past is being meticulously restored to its former glory.

The building is constructed with brick walls, a wooden floor, and a tiled roof. It is a complex of three buildings connected on three sides, forming a U-shaped plan with an open courtyard in the center.

The second floor houses the Ma Zu Temple.

The Rice Mill Restaurant is located by the riverside, offering a relaxing atmosphere in the evening.

Lhong 1919 has transformed into a conservation-oriented tourist destination and a public creative space. The area is divided into sections for various activities, including:

  • Exhibitions
  • Restaurants and cafes
  • Shops selling art and handicrafts

This space also allows younger generations to participate and contribute.

A popular spot for visitors to stop and take pictures.

Incense sticks for worshipping Mazu Temple are available for purchase at the shop in three sizes and prices.

The replica of the Mazu Temple is located on the lower floor.

This walkway offers stunning photo opportunities.

Another angle that everyone who comes must take a picture with these two children. If you don't take a picture, it means you haven't arrived.

Take a sneaky picture of her.
