As mentioned in the previous entry, I went to see the Christmas tree lighting ceremony but arrived several hours early. Nevertheless, I decided to grab a bite to eat. At Central Embassy, there is a large library, or rather, a book garden, where a variety of books are available for purchase. There are also several restaurants to choose from on the 6th floor in the Open House zone.

Diverse Books

The serene and luxurious atmosphere invites exploration and relaxation, extending to the inviting restaurants above. Among the stylish and chic options, we chose Peppina, an Italian restaurant ideal for a leisurely dining experience. Its beautifully decorated interior and outdoor seating area with stunning views provide a perfect setting for a memorable meal.

Start your meal with Raspberry & Lime, a festive treat perfect for Christmas.

Raspberry & Lime is a popular drink at our shop. It has a sweet and sour taste, with the fizz of soda and the fragrant aroma of berries filling the glass. Decorated in a wine glass with a festive theme, it is a delight for both the eyes and the palate.

Vinegar-dressed vegetables, an appetizer.

The first dish served was a vegetable salad, featuring a variety of ingredients such as carrots, zucchini, celery, bell peppers, and others. These vegetables were stir-fried with balsamic vinegar, resulting in a tangy flavor that stimulated the appetite in anticipation of the main course. The salad was further enhanced with the addition of fresh, crunchy seeds.

Mezze Maniche Pasta with Pork Cheek Ragu (พาสต้าแก้มหมูตุ๋นซอสมะเขือเทศ)

This dish can be considered a main course, as the braised pork cheek pasta with tomato sauce is quite filling. We opted for thick tagliatelle instead of thin spaghetti, which did not affect the flavor but provided a slightly different texture. The pasta is tossed with tomato sauce and thick slices of braised pork cheek, resulting in a tender and flavorful combination. The dish is further enhanced by the addition of grated Parmesan cheese and cream sauce.

Uovo Pizza - Pizza with cheese, ham, and egg yolk

A Taste of Uovo Pizza: A Culinary Delight

Following the tantalizing appetizers, the highly acclaimed Uovo Pizza takes center stage. This thin-crust pizza boasts a symphony of flavors, featuring a delectable combination of tangy pizza sauce, melted cheese, savory ham, perfectly cooked boiled egg, and black olives. Each bite delivers a harmonious blend of textures, with the crispy edges and fresh dough providing a satisfying crunch. The overall experience is a testament to the culinary expertise of Uovo Pizza, leaving diners with a lingering sense of delight.

Spicy Baby Chicken with Smoked Paprika

สะโพกลูกไก่ย่างใส่ปาปิก้า

This dish is a true delight, featuring tender chicken thigh meat marinated in a spicy paprika rub. Served with grilled lemon, garlic, onions, and tomatoes, the dish offers a symphony of flavors. The succulent chicken, cooked to perfection, absorbs the aromatic spices, creating a burst of taste with every bite. A squeeze of fresh lemon adds a touch of acidity, balancing the richness of the dish and leaving a refreshing aftertaste.

Panna cotta and tiramisu: the perfect sweet ending to your meal.

Panna Cotta with Strawberry Sauce

The dessert platter seemed to be the least popular item in this meal. While the tiramisu had a smooth and delicate texture, and a subtle coffee aroma as it should, its overly sweet taste made it somewhat unappealing. On the other hand, the panna cotta's sweetness clashed sharply with the strawberry sauce. Personally, I found the combination too jarring and not entirely enjoyable.

Tiramisu with strawberry topping

Overall, the meal at Peppina was very satisfying. The Italian flavors were delicious, and the presentation of the dishes, glasses, and menu was impressive. I will definitely be back to try other dishes in the future.

Thank you for watching.
