The opening ceremony was imbued with the atmosphere of Chinese culture, decorated in a magnificent red theme, which is believed to be a lucky color. Many celebrities attended the Chinese New Year celebration, including Punyanuch Kesamsant Dulya, Araya Kanjanapongkul, Suphee Pongpanich, Jirayong Anumanrajathon, Patcharavimal Youngprapakorn, Jittramon Techasuphaibul, Uraiporn Chelimtaraprakorn, Charin Sumannont, Sirin Chattrawich, Lee Puengboonpra, and Supahtana Atharpai.

The ceremony began with an auspicious eye-opening ritual for the dragon and lion, auspicious animals from the heavens according to Chinese beliefs. The golden dragon is believed to be a companion of the bodhisattva Guanyin, while the lion is a guardian of the emperor. They are therefore used as symbols of good fortune in auspicious ceremonies to bestow blessings, bring good luck, ward off evil, and promote prosperity in business.

Ms. Pakachat Techaratanaprapan, Assistant Managing Director, Head of Credit Card Products, Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited, Ms. Nitsinee Chirathivat, Co-President of Central Department Store Co., Ltd., Ms. Lan Suhong, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Thailand and Director of the China Cultural Center in Bangkok, jointly performed the eye-opening ceremony for the dragon and lion.

The performance continues with the "Guangzhou Lion Dance Jumping Through the Plum Blossom Pole" by the champion team, "Luk Toa Mahaprom", Thailand's national champion in 2015. Next, the "Guanyin Goddess Disciple Troupe", Thailand's national champion in 2016, will showcase their skills. The performance concludes with a presentation from the "Chinese Cultural Center in Bangkok" titled "Kite Flying Dance", which won the gold medal at the 23rd International Folk Dance Competition in Canada.

The sentence translates to:

"Lion dance performance jumping over the plum blossom pole by the champion of Thailand."

A performance of Hulun Buir Dance, a traditional Mongolian folk dance characterized by graceful movements, and Dance of Happiness.

The highlight of the event was the auspicious dragon dance performance, the longest of its kind in Thailand, presented by the Singha Thong Lion and Dragon Dance Troupe. The performance featured a thousand-pillar auspicious dragon with a base resembling clouds, making it appear as if the dragon were soaring into the sky. A celestial maiden guided the dragon with a luminous pearl, and a banner in the dragon's mouth offered blessings to all the distinguished guests.

Following the dragon dance, the audience enjoyed a cultural performance showcasing Chinese traditions. The Confucius Institute at Chulalongkorn University presented a Mongolian folk dance, the "Hu Lun Bu Er" dance, characterized by its graceful movements. The performance concluded with the "Happiness Dance", symbolizing good fortune and prosperity, resembling a school of fish playfully leaping and splashing in the water.
