As this month is the month of love, Madamkim would like to take you to a love shrine to pray for blessings.
Tsuyunoten Shrine: A Tale of Love and Legend
Tsuyunoten Shrine, steeped in legend, boasts a history spanning millennia. The shrine is said to be the setting for a poignant love story involving a local actress named Ohatsu and Tokubei, the nephew of a wealthy merchant.
Due to their differing social statuses, the lovers were forbidden from being together. In 1708, they decided to take their own lives rather than be separated. Their story was adapted into a puppet play and kabuki performance titled "Sonezaki Shinju" by the renowned Japanese playwright Chikamatsu Monzaemon.
Subsequently, this place became a site where people worshiped the spirits of the two lovers. It is believed that this shrine is sacred in matters of love. Locals affectionately refer to it as Ohatsu Tenjin.
The shrine offers two types of wishing plaques: heart-shaped plaques for love wishes and plaques with a female face (where the devotee draws their own face) for beauty and attractiveness wishes.
Travel Directions: Take the Yotsubashi Line (blue) subway from Higobashi Station (Y12) to Nishi-Umeda Station (Y11). From Nishi-Umeda Station, follow the underground passage to Higashi-Umeda Station (T20), your final destination. Look for Exit 6 (H80) at Higashi-Umeda Station.
This is the closest exit to the shrine. Once you find it, walk straight up the stairs and you will see the exit. When you emerge, you will see the Forum-4 shopping mall directly opposite the exit.
Walk to the left for no more than 100 meters. You will pass the Umeda OS Hotel (this indicates that you are on the right track).
Walk a little further, about 20 meters, and you will find a fish cake shop.
Turn into the alley next to the fish cake shop. Look for the blue shop with the number 24 on the sign.
Please zoom in on the sign in front of the store, I want to see it clearly.
Turn right and you will find the entrance to the court. There are many entrances to the court (Madamkim got lost several times), but this one is the easiest.
Upon arrival, Madamkim wasted no time in offering prayers and making wishes (fingers crossed for an abundance of love and admiration!).
Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.
After completing the main mission, it was time for the secondary mission: exploring the Temma market. This exploration was necessary before any actual shopping, as Madamkim's shopping experience had shown that product prices varied significantly between stores. This variation depended on individual store promotions, regardless of whether it was a yellow, red, blue, or Don Quijote store.
To maximize value on a budget, Madamkim employs a strategic approach. Before shopping, she meticulously photographs the prices of desired items. This allows for careful comparison and identification of the most advantageous deals. Armed with this knowledge, she can then confidently make informed purchasing decisions. This technique enabled Madamkim to secure a legendary facial cleansing whip for the remarkable price of 298 yen per tube.
Even eye drops are available for only 184 yen (excluding VAT. If you buy 5,000 yen or more, you can get Tax Free). You can get good products at affordable prices. If you have time, please try this technique. Madamkim has to go and check the prices first.
