Despite the numerous film and television studios currently operating in China,
Among the top and globally renowned studios is the one at
"Hengdian"

This is my first trip to Zhejiang Province, and I am traveling solo as usual.
Hengdian: A World-Class Film City
The Hengdian World Studios: A Global Filmmaking Hub
The Hengdian World Studios, a 5A-rated tourist attraction in China established in 1996, has become the world's largest film production base, earning it the title of "Hollywood of the East."

Traveling to Hengdian
The journey can be started from various locations, with Yiwu, Hangzhou, or Shanghai being the most common starting points. We began our trip from Shanghai (as we had visited Disneyland the day before).
We took a high-speed train from Hongqiao Railway Station to Yiwu Railway Station, which took almost 2 hours and cost 123 yuan.

The translated sentence is:
After taking a bus from the E-Woo train station to Hengdian bus station, which took about an hour, we were confused as to why the bus did not stop at the bus station on the way there. We arrived in Hengdian around 7 pm and were dropped off near an intersection close to the bus station. The ticket price was 20 yuan, with a 1 yuan deposit for the outward journey and a 2 yuan deposit for the return journey.

To reach the hotel, you can take a bus for 1 yuan per person or hail a black taxi for a negotiated price. On our way there, we arrived after dark and there were no buses, so we hailed a black taxi. On the way back, we took a bus from near the hotel back to the bus station.

Traveling within Hengdian
This is a simple and concise translation of the original sentence. It maintains the original meaning while using a formal academic style.
The hotel we stayed in this time is close to Qinwangong. There are four bus lines: A, B, 1(A), 1(B). All lines pass by tourist attractions and finally end at Hengdian Bus Station.

To board the bus, enter through the front door and deposit 1 yuan per person into the fare box. Disembark through the rear door upon reaching your desired destination. Alternatively, if you prefer not to wait for the bus, you can take a taxi, with fares negotiated upon boarding.

Tourist Attractions in Hengdian
The location of the entrance to Hengdian World Studios is difficult to pinpoint, as the sprawling film city encompasses six primary tourist attractions, one nighttime amusement park, and numerous smaller points of interest. Consequently, there is no single entry or exit point.
All tourist attractions in Hengdian cover an area of 20 square kilometers, divided into two main areas: the southern city and the northern city.
- Southern City: Includes Qinwang Palace, Ming and Qing Dynasties Palace, Qingming Riverside Scene, Meng Huan Gu, and Dazhi Temple.

- Northern City includes Ming and Qing Imperial Tombs, Guangzhou and Hong Kong Streets, Pingyan Cave, and Huaxia Wenhua Park.

Some tourists visit Hengdian on a day trip from Shanghai, while others spend two days there. However, we believe that three days is the ideal amount of time to fully explore the area. For major attractions such as Qingwang Palace, Ming and Qing Palace Garden, and Qingming Shanghe River, it is recommended to allocate half a day for each.
Performances in Hengdian
While visiting Hengdian, simply strolling around and taking pictures may not be considered a complete experience. This is because another highlight of Hengdian is the abundance of performances staged throughout the day at various tourist attractions. It is almost impossible to catch all the shows at a single attraction, as they often have only one opening and one closing performance. Therefore, to see all the shows, one would need to spend an entire day at that particular attraction.

Attending a performance in Hengdian is like stepping into the world of a TV series or movie you've seen before. For example, the Heroes Sword show recreates the scene of the Go game house and the battle between Nameless and Sky. The show features amazing martial arts swordplay and acrobatics, with actors leaping across rooftops without any cuts. It's truly breathtaking and sure to remind everyone of Zhang Yimou's film Hero.

Equestrian stunts and mounted combat evoke scenes of horseback warfare in various narratives, including the daring equestrian feats performed by Ruo Lan, Ruoxi's sister, in the novel "Bu Bu Jing Xin."

During the performance, vendors may walk around selling snacks such as popcorn, boiled corn, sausages, ice cream, etc. If you want to save time, you can buy snacks and enjoy them while watching the show.

The drinks at the tourist attractions here are twice as expensive as outside. A small bottle of water costs around 4-5 yuan, and there are no free water dispensers in the tourist attractions like there are in other places (or maybe we just couldn't find them).
Accommodation
There are many hotels to choose from, some of which offer promotions that include entrance tickets. The hotel we stayed at this time included the booking fee through the app and cost only 200 yuan per night. We got a very spacious room with a tea corner and breakfast. I will review the hotel in more detail separately.

Bathroom
When visiting Hengdian, one of the main tourist destinations in China, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the abundance of clean and well-maintained restrooms. Unlike other public restrooms in China, these facilities are remarkably odor-free and equipped with amenities such as toilet paper, hand dryers, and stylish decor. This attention to detail ensures a comfortable and convenient experience for visitors.

The restrooms at Hongqiao Railway Station are acceptable, but the ones at Yiwu Railway Station are not. I didn't expect a high-speed rail station to have such rudimentary restrooms. I thought all high-speed rail stations used modern restrooms. I'm so upset that I could scream. I'm not going to describe the conditions, but you can imagine them for yourselves.
Transform into the world of drama
If you've ever dreamed of transforming into your favorite movie character, there's a service that rents costumes and wigs for photo shoots. With a wide variety of costumes to choose from, you're sure to find the perfect outfit for your transformation. The rental fee is 200 yuan per costume.

Tips for Visiting Hengdian World Studios
1. Allow ample travel time. Train stations in China are vast, unlike the smaller ones we have at home. Even queuing to exchange pre-booked tickets takes a long time, and high-speed trains are incredibly punctual. Arrive well before your scheduled departure time.
2. Keep your passport handy. You'll need it for booking train and bus tickets, purchasing entrance tickets to attractions, and various other purposes. Always carry it with you.
3. Dedicate at least two days to exploring Hengdian. Each attraction is expansive, and you'll need time to watch the shows and capture memories through photographs.
4. Purchase a discounted combo ticket before entering to save money. We bought ours from the counter at our hotel for 490 yuan (valid for two days and includes entry to three main attractions and the night amusement park). The regular price at the entrance is 530 yuan. If you can purchase tickets through Chinese websites or apps, you might find even better deals. However, we couldn't book online as we didn't have a Chinese phone number.
5. You might encounter film crews shooting at Hengdian. If you're lucky, you could even spot your favorite celebrities!

Souvenirs
Before leaving, don't forget to stop by and buy souvenirs. If you have any favorite movies, you can try choosing them. As far as I remember, most of them will have souvenirs related to Langya Bang, Mi Yue Zhuan, and Bu Bu Jing Xin.
