The Romantic Getaway to Taiwan

In late 2017, I had the opportunity to visit Taiwan again. This time, my new love interest invited me to attend his younger brother's wedding. However, I had to return to Thailand before the wedding celebration. To make up for it, he booked a buffet at the same hotel where the wedding took place, The Lin Hotel. This gesture was a sweet and romantic surprise.

The Lin Hotel, a five-star establishment situated on Chaofu Road in the heart of Taichung, is renowned for its exceptional culinary offerings, making it an ideal destination for our gastronomic exploration.

Upon entering the restaurant, we inquired about any time constraints. Our partner responded in the negative, indicating that there were no time limitations.

Let's dig in and enjoy the food!

Let's start by exploring the giant lobster.

The chef will prepare the soup for us. We can place a coin with our table number on it. Once the chef is finished, the staff will serve it to our table.

The appearance of the lobster soup that the chef has prepared...you can order as much as you want.

The shrimps in Taiwan are smaller than those in Thailand, but they are equally delicious. Once you order, the staff will serve you within 10 minutes.

The shrimp will be placed on a hot stone like this for us to eat. If you are too lazy to peel it, find someone to peel it for you.

Feel free to grab some if you prefer them fried.

An abundance of shrimp, shellfish, crabs, fish, and lobsters, making it difficult to choose.

After eating seafood to our heart's content, we went for a walk to digest and find something else to eat.

Steaming hot dim sum is here, but we're just stopping by to take photos. We'll skip it today...

The dessert included fruits and fruit juices. On the day I went, there was also Thai food, including fried chicken and Thai papaya salad. My boyfriend told me to try it and see if it tasted like the one in Thailand, but it was really... intense!

The restaurant offered a wide selection of beers and wines, from which we chose a bottle of wine. My partner, however, opted for a glass of fresh coconut water. Interestingly, coconut water is a popular beverage in Taiwan, and it is often consumed fresh.

After we were stuffed, we asked our partner how much the buffet cost, given the abundance and quality of the food.

She said it's 1190 NTD per person on weekdays and 990 NTD on weekends.

We truly felt that we overpaid for our meal that day.
