Chiang Mai: A Farewell Journey
This review serves as a travelogue of my most cherished experiences in Chiang Mai, a city I bid farewell to as I embark on my studies in Australia. While this may not be my final visit, it marks the end of an era for the next two years. This emotional journey led me to revisit beloved haunts and explore new hidden gems, ensuring I stay abreast of the city's ever-evolving trends. Each location holds a special place in my heart, and I invite you to join me on this sentimental exploration.
If you follow the page Bliss Out There, you should know that Ping has been to Chiang Mai eight million times already... Still! Not even close to 5555555 But it's enough to write a travel book about Chiang Mai : ) Please allow me to tie-in my first book! ' Bliss of Chiangmai : A Familiar Province in an Unfamiliar Angle ' is a guide book to travel Chiang Mai in a chill, slow life style. There are secret restaurants, accommodations, and cute cafes galore. The design in the book is chic, minimalist, and bright. I'm sure you'll love it. At the end of the book, there are discounts for various places in Chiang Mai. It only costs 295 baht (excluding shipping). If you're interested, you can inbox me to order at https://www.facebook.com/BlissOutThere/

On the first day, Ping arrived in Chiang Mai early in the morning (the earliest flight she had ever taken). Ping went straight to a breakfast restaurant that we had never been to before! Apart from the Ko Puek Ko Dam and Ko Neng restaurants, there is also the '9 Sapha Cha Fa' in Nimmanha, which tourists like us should not miss! What caught Ping's eye and drew her to this restaurant was the way the food was served in cute trays, especially the three-colored bread dipped in custard (salted egg, butterfly pea, and pandan custard).

In addition to the American breakfast set, the shop also offers a variety of Thai dishes such as fried eggs, rice porridge, dry rice porridge, noodle soup, and drinks served in bags. After 11 am, they also offer a variety of instant noodles with spicy and sour soup and various toppings. If you are visiting Chiang Mai, be sure to stop by this restaurant!

The Baristro at Ping River is a new branch of the popular cafe in Nimmanhaemin. The cafe is decorated in a minimalist style with white walls, wooden furniture, and magazines like Cereal and Kinfolk. The new branch has concrete and glass walls, which give it a raw but not oppressive feel. There is also a seating area by the Ping River at the back of the cafe.
For those who enjoy this type of establishment, be sure to check it out.

The first day, it rained heavily. After I checked in and put my belongings away at the accommodation, I couldn't go anywhere else due to the rain. I waited until dinner time and went out to eat the most delicious sukiyaki in the world! 'Suki Chanapook'. This restaurant has two branches: one at the Chanapook Night Market and one behind Chiang Mai University. I went to the one behind Chiang Mai University regularly, as well as other restaurants on this trip. I always go back to the same places I like before I don't get to eat there again for a long time. You can check out the information of the different restaurants in this link: https://pantip.com/l/https%3A%E0%B8%AF%E0%B9%91%E0%B8%AF%E0%B8%AF%E0%B9%91%E0%B8%AFgoo.gl%E0%B8%AF%E0%B9%91%E0%B8%AF2uB6mr. Especially Suki Chanapook, Kin Lam Kin Dee, and Anchan Noodle!
On the second day, Ping was lucky enough to visit a newly opened Pool Villa in Doi Saket, owned by her senior. Before her senior picked her up, she had breakfast at the "Butterfly Pea Noodle Shop". The house is located in the middle of a rice field with a beautiful view. It has two floors, three bedrooms, four bathrooms, one kitchen, one living room, a rooftop terrace for barbecues, and a large swimming pool.
Every room has a TV, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a hairdryer for your use.
There are 3 bicycles available for loan, making it the ultimate all-inclusive experience.
Enjoy the slow life, premium amenities, and privacy at a shockingly low price starting at
6,900 baht/night/8 people (whole house rental)
That's only about 863 baht per person!
Prices vary depending on the time of your stay.

Back to the city cafe tour mode, let's update another new shop.
That is the shop ' ABCD : A Better Cup & Design ' a small shop
The concept behind the drinks and desserts is not small at all! The single-story shop
Glass on all sides, inside there are seats by the glass wall about 5-6 seats
And a table for 4-5 people, another 1 table, or you can sit outside in the shade.
The menu that Ping ordered to try was Peachfully and chocolate cake.
Which is the best! Especially the chocolate cake that Ping didn't expect
Anything at all, because when I saw it in the cabinet, it looked like a plain, ordinary cake.
But when served with hot chocolate sauce, sprinkled with almonds
Plus, there's a white chocolate filling inside! This is very good, impressed
If anyone goes to follow, I would like you to try it, but you may not find this menu because
He sells different desserts every day. Please meet <3

Play Work: A Treasure Trove of Quirky Souvenirs
Nestled within the Think Park project, Play Work is a haven for those seeking unique and charming souvenirs. From tote bags and passport holders to notebooks and pins, this shop offers a delightful array of handcrafted goods.
The hallmark of Play Work lies in its distinctive patterns, meticulously designed by the shop's own artists. These patterns exude a distinctly Thai and Chiang Mai aesthetic, blending traditional motifs with modern sensibilities. The result is a collection that appeals to both young and old, offering stylish and practical items that are perfect for everyday use or as thoughtful gifts.
During my recent visit, I couldn't resist picking up a notebook adorned with a beautiful Thai pattern, a perfect memento for a friend living in Australia.
A Delicious Finale at Gin Lam Gin Dee
To cap off our day, we indulged in a delightful dinner at Gin Lam Gin Dee. While I've already reviewed this restaurant three times before, its consistently delicious food and warm atmosphere warrant another mention. For those unfamiliar with this gem, you can find more information in my previous reviews.
Pro Tip: Gin Lam Gin Dee offers a 15% discount to patrons who present a copy of the "Bliss of Chiang Mai" book. Don't miss out on this opportunity to savor delicious food at an even better price!
Our last morning (I don't want to go back yet T_T) started at
'Thunder Bird Hostel', a hostel with a cafe
under the concept of birds 5555555 As we passed through the entrance tunnel
into the interior, we could feel the raw, hipster vibe
from the concrete walls, steel stairs, and the surrounding decorations.
However, they still maintained a sense of fun by using bird-related patterns and
messages painted around, as well as colorful plants and furniture.
Overall, I give the design here a perfect 10.
I wish I had come here sooner, otherwise I would have stayed for a night.
The most impressive thing about Thunder Bird is the AOP bacon spaghetti! It's delicious!
The best I've ever had this menu from all over the place.
Because I don't like sauce, Ping will eat spaghetti or
olive oil pasta very often. This is really amazing.
Both the noodles are smaller than other places, but they are still chewy and soft.
To the perfect taste between chili, garlic and bacon
I paid 190 baht and didn't feel sorry. I feel like it should be more expensive.
Even! Ah, hurry up and follow the trail. Don't miss it.

Returning to **'Khagee'**, Ping's favorite cafe in Chiang Mai, or even in Thailand, was a delightful experience. After visiting in March 2017, Ping had not returned, exploring other cafes in the meantime. However, ultimately, Ping realized that 'Khagee' was the best. While not everyone may appreciate its understated charm, the cafe's simple exterior and unpretentious interior hold a unique allure. The fragrant beverages and delectable pastries complement the cafe's gentle design, creating a harmonious ambiance.

Ping's last trip to Chiang Mai (in several years) was only 3 days and 2 nights. She now understands the saying "I wish there were 30 hours in a day." T_T Ping's memories of her ten-plus trips to Chiang Mai are included in the book 'Bliss of Chiangmai.' Please support Ping's first travel book by following and purchasing it at: https://www.facebook.com/BlissOutThere/
See you there! <3
