Day 1
Bangkok (Don Mueang Airport) - Ubon Ratchathani Airport
The food at Lab Ped Kon Lue restaurant is incredibly delicious. Everything is tasty and the prices are reasonable.
Recommended menu: Spicy duck salad and crispy catfish salad
The shop is located near the airport, within a 15-minute walk.
Next, head to the accommodation Plai Fah Resort Ubon, priced at 775 baht per room for two people. The accommodation is only 9 kilometers from Sam Phan Bok.
After packing up, we headed straight to Sam Phan Bok.
Upon arrival at Sam Phan Bok, there are shared taxis available for rent at 200 baht per round trip.
Continuing on, you will encounter numerous photogenic spots scattered throughout the area, each offering unique and stylish angles. We are grateful for the clear skies that allowed us to capture the stunning evening light.
Exhausted. Let's go eat some grilled pork. The restaurant is near our accommodation. The price is 200 baht per kilogram, which is very cheap. We are going with 8 people. We can eat about 5-6 kilograms, which is only over 100 baht per person. Our stomachs are about to burst.
After showering, we returned to Sam Phan Bok to photograph the Milky Way. We continued shooting until 1 am.
Early morning trip to Kaeng Chom Dao and Sam Phan Bok again. The sun rises very early here, and it's already hot by 5:30 am.
The sun is scorching, and the heat is unbearable. Just the thought of going to Sam Phan Bok is enough to make one shudder. Even sitting at home, one can't help but feel a sense of dread.
Sweat dripping down.
Day 2 Kaeng Chom Dao + Sam Phan Bok + Wat Phu Phrao
Continue to the third wave of 3,000 waves. For the third round, another suggestion is that if anyone needs a cool photo spot, a beautiful hidden spot, please contact the guide, Nong Nuch. She is a great photographer and will recommend great angles. If the semester starts, she will only be available on Saturdays and Sundays.
Human evolution
A gloomy mood in the desert.
For those who want to take photos of the stars at night, don't worry about getting lost. Contact Diao, the dog, and he will take you there, wait for you, play with you, and bring you back without getting lost. He is so smart! I don't know what kind of dog he is, but I want to take him home. I asked him to take a picture with me, but he acted like he didn't want to. I guess he's angry that I haven't given him a single bone after guiding me for two days. ^ ^
Melted into water
Finding a place to eat on the way back from Sam Phan Bok was challenging, with only one roadside option available. The food was mediocre and overpriced for a simple, local establishment. However, the sticky rice was delicious, and the long beans were pleasantly crisp.
A great place to stay in the city is Chill Living Hotel. The rooms are only 500 baht per night and include air conditioning, a hot water heater, a refrigerator, and complete furniture. The rooms are very clean and new. In the morning, they offer coffee, Ovaltine, biscuits, one kind of Thai dessert, and fried dough sticks. It's an amazing deal and I highly recommend it.
Next, we will proceed to Wat Sirindhorn Wararam Phu Phrao, also known as Wat Rueang Saeng.
Young students are drawing pictures at the temple.
It glows like this at night.
Thank you to my 7 fellow travelers.
The clear sky and pleasant weather allowed for a breathtaking view of the Milky Way with the naked eye. A heartfelt thank you to Jekarn for the generous farewell dinner.
