"No long weekends like everyone else"
"No more leave days"
"Not enough time"
"No time"
"No car, difficult to travel"
These words will be gone from your friends.
Today we will take our friends to visit Bangkok.
For those who have little time but want a beautiful restaurant, the Chao Phraya River
Good view of Wat Arun
And also get to make merit.
We, as salarymen, can do it.
With just half a day of travel, there is still plenty of time.
You can travel by private car,
Passenger boat, bus, train, or if you live nearby, you can also ride a bicycle.
Today we start at Tha Tian, an old community on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
That still retains its classic charm.
Po Tha Tien Pier: If you are arriving by boat, you can disembark at this pier.
From this pier, you can also take a ferry across the river to Wat Arun for only 4 baht.
A round trip costs 8 baht.
Upon reaching Trok Tha Tien, you will encounter shops in the market and surrounding areas.
Coincidentally, on the day of my visit, there was a
However, the shops located in the alley are normally open.
But on this day, there were additional vendors selling their wares.
GOOD JOB cafe is a popular spot in the area.
Many foreigners frequent the cafe.
The cafe also sells stylish design items.
A variety of Thai restaurants are located in the area.
Some of these restaurants are long-standing establishments that have been updated to reflect modern tastes, while still maintaining their traditional flavors.
Various herbal medicine shops
Where you can walk in and get a refreshing whiff of aromatic herbs to relieve dizziness and fatigue.
Entering the alley, we will encounter the T. Saeng Thong shop, which has been standing for a long time alongside the Tha Tien alley.
Anyone living in this area who doesn't know this shop is probably impossible.
Come and relax with a cool drink at an affordable price, and there is also toasted bread.
We think it's delicious, the kind that is drizzled with milk and still maintains its crispness, fragrant, and delicious.
Followed by the Make Me Mango cafe, a brown and white cafe
with an interior design that is sure to please teenagers.
Along with a variety of mango menus that you must not miss.
Next, you will find a community, the Tha Tien market, which many people may be familiar with.
Because it has been around for a long time, there are both processed seafood and dried seafood.
And what this place is famous for is salted eggs.
Upon entering the innermost part of the alley, one encounters INN A DAY, formerly a renowned sugar factory. Transformed into a hotel to adapt to the modern era, the establishment retains traces of its past as a sugar factory, beautifully integrated into the contemporary design.
Guests staying at this hotel can enjoy stunning views of Wat Arun throughout the day and night.
The hotel rooms offer panoramic views of Wat Arun and the Chao Phraya River, providing a truly unforgettable experience.
The lower zone also serves as a cafe, offering a cool and refreshing space to relax and enjoy the air conditioning.
With our stomachs full, our next stop is to make merit.
We walk a short distance and we will find the pier, from which we can cross to Wat Arun in just a few minutes.
The fare is only 4 baht.
Upon arrival at Wat Arun, Thai citizens enjoy free entry.
Foreign tourists are charged an entrance fee of 50 baht per person.
Before returning today, we crossed the river and stopped by Trok Ta Tien restaurant for some crispy pork.
The crispy pork here is so delicious that we had to order some to take home.
It's a great place to relax and enjoy the evening atmosphere of the Chao Phraya River.
You can also enjoy the view of Wat Arun.
The bottom of the shop also has cool lights for taking pictures.
It's thick, crispy, and truly delicious.
What a fulfilling half-day it has been!
We accomplished so much, from indulging in delicious food to capturing countless photographs. The experience transported us back in time, immersing us in the ambiance of a bygone era.
The breathtaking views of the Chao Phraya River added to the charm of the day, leaving us feeling content, joyful, and blessed.
